    Comparative Analysis of Maqashid Syariah Index Achievement at BPRS Muamalah Cilegon and BPRS Cilegon Mandiri After Covid-19 (2021–2023)

    This study aims to compare the achievement of Maqashid Syariah Index (MSI) in two Sharia People's Financing Banks (BPRS) in Cilegon City, namely BPRS Cilegon Mandiri and BPRS Muamalah Cilegon, after the Covid-19 pandemic in the 2021-2023 period. The research method used is a comparative descriptive quantitative approach with secondary data analysis in the form of annual financial statements of the two BPRS and structured interviews with management. MSI measurement is carried out based on three main indicators, namely individual education, justice enforcement, and welfare improvement, which are adapted from the Abu Zahrah model and the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The results showed that BPRS Muamalah Cilegon consistently obtained a higher MSI score than BPRS Cilegon Mandiri, with an average MSI score of 0,62828 in the study period. This finding indicates that BPRS Muamalah Cilegon is more optimal in implementing maqashid sharia objectives, although both BPRS still have challenges in improving achievement in certain aspects. This study recommends the need to strengthen maqashid sharia-based strategies and program innovations for both BPRS in order to contribute more to the recovery and empowerment of the post-pandemic community economy

Hasil analisis visualisasi pemetaan trend topik/subyek pada pubikasi ilmiah dibidang asuransi syariah yang masih perlu dilakukan untuk diteliti seperti penggunaan metode structural equation modelling dan qualitative methodology approachsebagai alat analisis data. Selain itu juga ada kata kunci seperti takaful agent, takaful business, takaful literature, takaful policy, takaful product, takaful retirement annuity plan, takaful scheme, takaful service, retakaful, mudharabah, mudharabah musarakah, takaful performance, inflation, taawun, maysir, micro takaful, underwriting, wakalah, wakaf, pialang asuransi dan reasuransi syariah, asuransi Kesehatan, dana pensiun, penilai kerugian, life expectancy, life table, limitation, claim, measure, mortality rate, prediction, longerterm projection. Sedangkan hasil visualisasi co-authorship network pada pubikasi ilmiah bidang asuransi syariah didapat bahwa jumlah kolaborasi peneliti yang meneliti bidang asuransi syariah ada 15 dengan jumlah link co-authorshipnya sebanyak 83 link yang terbagi dalam dua kalster

    Micro Expression of Students’ Anxiety in Speaking Performance

    The research aims to understand micro expression of students’ anxiety in speaking performance. This research takes the title of micro expression of students’ anxiety in speaking performance. Micro Expression is the science of reading expression that appear of students’ anxiety of a second. This research uses a qualitative approach with content analysis method. Data collecting technique in this research are observation, interview, and documentation. This shows that students have different expression and anxiety in their speaking performance, and the writers found three factors that cause students' anxiety when speaking English, which are communication anxiety, test anxiety, and fear of being negatively evaluated, influenced by specific anxiety in each situation. This situation can be an emotionally and physically unpleasant experience for some English-speaking students in the class. Students feel anxious, depressed, scared, nervous, and worried when they cannot speak English. Those make students afraid of making mistakes and like to underestimate their abilities, making them unable to perform verbal activities

    This article re-examines the hadith about the main alms of fī sabīlil-Lāh (tent shelter, servant service, camel riding), which are limitedly understood in the context of logistical support for war (tajhīz al-ġāzī). This article argues that education is a jihad as urgent as war in times of peace, referring to Q.S. al-Taubah (9): 122. By using the contextual reading method of qiyāsī-maqāṣidī, this article proposes a reinterpretation of the hadith of alms of fī sabīlil-Lāh to be used as an explicit theological argument for educational alms (tajhīz al-ṭālib). The analysis shows the validity of the analogy between the needs of soldiers (ġāzī) and students (ṭālib) and their ecosystems (infrastructure, educators/educational staff, institutional operations), both from the perspective of 'illah (both support the struggle of fī sabīlil-Lāh) and maqṣad (realizing the vital welfare of the people in the contemporary era). This reinterpretation is expected to increase awareness and allocation of Islamic philanthropy for the strategic education sector, address the problem of infrastructure and teacher welfare in Islamic educational institutions, and shift priorities from physical development to investment in human resources.Artikel ini mengkaji ulang hadis tentang sedekah-sedekah utama fī sabīlil-Lāh (naungan tenda, pelayanan hamba, unta tunggangan) yang secara terbatas dipahami dalam konteks dukungan logistik perang (tajhīz al-ġāzī). Tulisan ini berargumen bahwa pendidikan merupakan jihad yang setara urgensinya dengan perang di masa damai, merujuk pada Q.S. al-Taubah (9): 122. Dengan menggunakan metode pembacaan kontekstual qiyāsī-maqāṣidī, tulisan ini mengusulkan reinterpretasi hadis sedekah fī sabīlil-Lāh tersebut untuk dijadikan argumentasi teologis yang eksplisit bagi sedekah pendidikan (tajhīz al-ṭālib). Analisis menunjukkan validitas analogi antara kebutuhan prajurit (ġāzī) dan pelajar (ṭālib) beserta ekosistemnya (sarpras, pendidik/tendik, operasional lembaga), baik dari sisi 'illah (sama-sama mendukung perjuangan fī sabīlil-Lāh) maupun maqṣad (mewujudkan kemaslahatan vital umat di era kontemporer). Reinterpretasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dan alokasi filantropi Islam untuk sektor pendidikan strategis, menjawab problem sarpras dan kesejahteraan guru di lembaga pendidikan Islam, serta menggeser prioritas dari pembangunan fisik ke investasi sumber daya manusia

    This research aims to: 1) examine the depiction of catcalling among students, 2) examine the depiction of self-confidence among students, 3) determine whether catcalling affects the self-confidence of students. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The population in this study is active students of the Islamic Counseling Guidance Study Program from the 2022 cohort at the Faculty of Dawah, UIN SMH Banten, totaling 156 students. The sample in this study consists of students from the Islamic Counseling Guidance Study Program from the 2022 cohort at the Faculty of Dawah, UIN SMH Banten, with 61 respondents, selected using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study are questionnaires on catcalling and self-confidence. The measurement tool used in this study is the Likert scale. Data analysis techniques employed descriptive analysis and inductive analysis which include normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. The hypothesis testing was conducted using simple linear regression analysis with the assistance of IBM SPSS version 30 for Windows. The results of the study found that: 1) catcalling among students of the BKI Program from the 2022 cohort at the Faculty of Dawah, UIN SMH Banten is at an interval of 43-52, categorized as high, with a percentage of 48%. 2) self-confidence among students of the BKI Program from the 2022 cohort at the Faculty of Dawah, UIN SMH Banten is at an interval of 17-29, categorized as very low, with a percentage of 69%. 3) based on the results of the simple linear regression analysis regarding catcalling and self-confidence, a t-value of -4.224 > t-table of 2.001 was obtained. This indicates that there is a significant negative effect of catcalling on the self-confidence of students of the BKI Program from the 2022 cohort at the Faculty of Dawah, UIN SMH Banten, thus Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; 1) mengetahui gambaran catcalling pada mahasiswa, 2) mengetahui gambaran kepercayaan diri pada mahasiswa, 3) mengetahui apakah catcalling berpengaruh terhadap kepercayaan diri mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa aktif Program Studi Bimbingan Konseling Islam Angkatan 2022 Fakultas Dakwah UIN SMH Banten sebanyak 156 mahasiswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa Program Studi Bimbingan Konseling Islam Angkatan 2022 Fakultas Dakwah UIN SMH Banten sebanyak 61 responden dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini berupa kuesioner catcalling dan kepercayaan diri. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala likert. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis induktif yang terdiri dari uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan analisis regresi linier sederhana menggunakan bantuan IBM SPSS versi 30 for windows. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa; 1) catcalling pada mahasiswa Program Studi BKI Angkatan 2022 Fakultas Dakwah UIN SMH Banten berada pada interval 43-52 masuk kategori tinggi dengan jumlah persentase 48%. 2) kepercayaan diri pada mahasiswa Program Studi BKI Angkatan 2022 Fakultas Dakwah UIN SMH Banten berada pada interval 17-29 masuk kategori sangat rendah dengan persentase 69%. 3) berdasarkan hasil uji analisis regresi linier sederhana tentang catcalling terhadap kepercayaan diri diperoleh thitung sebesar -4,224 > ttabel 2,001. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat arah pengaruh yang negatif dan signifikan antara catcalling terhadap kepercayaan diri mahasiswa Program Studi BKI Angkatan 2022 Fakultas Dakwah UIN SMH Banten, sehingga Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak

    This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research location is in two Islamic boarding schools, namely the Nurul Hidayah Bani Rijah Islamic Boarding School (which applies the Baghdadi method) and the Darul Mu'minin Nusantara Cilegon Islamic Boarding School (which uses the Tilawati method). The respondents in this study consisted of 27 students, namely 15 students using the Baghdadi method and 12 students using the Tilawati method. The research subjects consist of pesantren leaders, ngaji teachers, and students. The results of the study show that 1) Baghdadi's method is effective in forming the basis of Qur'anic reading ability, especially in mastering the makharijul of letters and the introduction of basic reading structures through a drill approach. This method fosters the accuracy and accuracy of the pronunciation of the letters, although it tends to cause saturation if it is not varied. Meanwhile; 2) The Tilawati method has proven to be more effective in improving the fluency and beauty of reading (tartil), because it combines elements of rost songs and an interactive classical-individual approach. Students are more enthusiastic, active, and quick to master reading with a communicative and systematic approach; 3) The data obtained in the Tahsin Proficiency Level shows that the average tahsin ability of students with the Baghdadi method reaches a score of 79.8, while with the Tilawati method reaches 84.7. These results show that the Tilawati method is superior in building the ability to read the Qur'an as a whole, both in terms of makharijul lettering (accuracy of the sound of letters), tajweed (application of the law of reading), and waqaf (accuracy of stopping and continuing the reading). The conclusion of the study is that the improvement of the tahsin ability of the Qur'an does not only depend on the method used, but also on the quality of the teacher, the intensity of the exercise, and the supportive learning environment. It is hoped that the results of this research can be considered for Islamic educational institutions in developing an effective, dynamic, and consistent learning model of the Qur'an in accordance with the characteristics of students

    The concept of digitalization from the perspective of the Qur’an is capable of creating alignment and harmony between: halb ma’an-nâs (relationships among humans), halb ma’a usratih (relationships with family), and mashlahâtun li an-nâs (the welfare of humanity). The approach to applying the theory of theocentric connectivity digital learning is a theory that describes digital learning methods where learning can occur outside the individual within an organization or system and requires the ability to form connections and use networks to obtain the needed knowledge, all of which is guided by Allah’s instructions in the Qur’an, namely: practicing tabayyun in addressing news, whether it is news received or news to be conveyed to others, practicing qawlan in communication so that it aligns with prevailing ethics and norms, avoiding criticism, respecting each other, and not humiliating or harming others. In addition, adopting tazkiyyah, which purifies the mind and heart by maintaining positive thinking and a balanced attitude of mutual help in goodness, where in the learning process, all parties involved, both learners and educators, have a sense of helping each other in goodness

    The Role of Zakat in Reducing Poverty in Rural Communities of Pandeglang Regency

    This study explores the role of zakat in reducing poverty in rural areas, particularly in Pandeglang Regency, where socioeconomic disparities remain prominent. Despite its potential to improve community welfare, the actual impact of zakat on poverty alleviation in rural contexts is still underexplored. This research aims to identify the contribution of zakat in enhancing the quality of life for the poor and examine the factors that support or hinder zakat program implementation. A qualitative method was used, involving four purposively selected informants: an amil, a muzakki, and two mustahik. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. The study adopts the Theory of Community Empowerment and the Maqashid Shariah framework to interpret the findings. Results show that zakat contributes positively to basic needs fulfillment and temporary financial relief. However, challenges such as limited program resources, uneven distribution, lack of monitoring, and beneficiary dependence reduce long-term effectiveness. The study concludes that improving zakat management, professionalizing amil roles, enhancing public outreach, and integrating technology for transparency are crucial for maximizing impact. The research offers theoretical and practical implications, and suggests further exploration of zakat’s synergy with digital-based rural development programs

    Religious Studies in the Islamic World: Revisiting the Muslim Challenge to Religious Studies Discourse

    According to the QS World University Rankings for Theology, Divinity, andReligious Studies 2024, religious studies in Muslim regions are inadequately developed.The Muslims' dismissal of religious studies is intricately linked to the underdevelopmentof the field. Nevertheless, the dismissal of religious studies by Muslims is frequentlyregarded as commonplace without additional scrutiny. This study aimed to examine theMuslim aversion to religious studies and propose solutions to address theunderdevelopment of religious studies within the Islamic world. Western religiousscholars have frequently positioned modern European history, particularly secularism,as the core of their explanation of religion. For them, scientific examinations of religionmust exclude the sacred aspect of religion. Consequently, Muslims perceive that theirinterpretation of Islam is limited. The hostility and rejection of religious studies byMuslims fundamentally signify a repudiation of secularism, which negates thetranscendence of God and dismisses the role of religion in society. The debate onreligious studies has not established a neutral environment for Muslims. The authorcontemplates this antagonism to counter the narrative surrounding religious studies.This study aimed to develop Muslim conflict as a contemporary phenomenon,integrating religious studies, particularly Islamic studies, into Islam's worldview orepistemology framework, devoid of any characterization as non-rational or nonscientific.The underdevelopment of religious studies in Muslim nations is attributed toa deficiency of experts educated in contemporary academic approaches to religion. Thenormative-doctrinal approach has thus far been the predominant method employed byMuslim scholars in the study of Islam. To address the stagnation of religious studies inthe Islamic world, Muslim scholars must amalgamate the normative-doctrinal approachwith the social sciences methodology.Tantangan dan respon yang diberikan umat Muslim, khususnya sarjana Muslim terhadap Studi Agama menjadi titik berangkat penelitian ini. Berangkat dari persoalan tersebut, penulis bertujuan menjawab pertanyaan mengapa Islam memberikan tantangan terhadap Studi Agama, Bagaimana tantangan atau respon Muslim terhadap Studi Agama, dan bagaimana solusi untuk permasalahan-permasalahan tersebut. Pertentangan Muslim terhadap Studi Agama menjadi pintu masuk penulis untuk meninjau kembali disiplin ini. Warisan yang bermasalah dari Studi Orientalisme yang dilakukan oleh sarjana Barat menjadi salah satu faktor penolakan Muslim terhadap Studi Agama. Hal itu pula yang membuat umat Muslim menaruh kecurigaan terhadap apapun yang datang dari Barat. Dengan mengungkap pertentangan Muslim terhadap Studi Agama, penulis merefleksikan pertentangan tersebut sebagai usaha perlawanan terhadap wacana Studi Agama Barat-Amerika yang berusaha memisahkan dunia agama dan dunia sekuler sebagaimana yang disebut oleh Timothy Fitzgerald. Selanjutnya, kritik Muslim terhadap Studi Agama tersebut dijadikan sebagai realitas sosial untuk menilai ulang Studi Agama. Penulis berusaha membawa Studi Agama khususnya bidang Studi Islam kedalam kerangka epistemologis Islam itu sendiri. Terakhir berkaitan dengan modernitas, penulis mempertimbangkan berbagai metodologi atau pendekatan yang berkembang di dunia Barat untuk dijadikan sebagai pisau analisis untuk mengkaji Islam dalam berbagai aspeknya di ranah penelitian Studi Agama. Dalam hal ini penulis ingin menegaskan bahwa tidak semua yang datang dari Barat adalah sesuatu negatif yang dapat merusak citra Islam

    This article critically examines Ivan Strenski’s work “The Proper Object of the Study of Religion: Why It Is Better to Know Some of the Questions Than All of the Answers”, which positions “problems of religion” as the epistemological foundation of religious studies. Using a qualitative approach through library research, this study analyzes Strenski’s argument that religious inquiry should focus on fundamental questions emerging from religious phenomena, rather than defining what religion is. The analysis reveals that Strenski successfully offers an important epistemological repositioning for religious studies to remain scientific while avoiding both theologization and cultural reductionism. However, his concept remains normative and lacks an operational methodology for empirical application. This review highlights the significance of Strenski’s ideas in enriching the epistemological discourse of religious studies and underscores the need for a more concrete methodological framework to implement his theoretical propositions
