    Instilling Friendly Character Through Greeting Activities: The Pedagogical Role of Islamic Education Teachers in Public Junior High Schools

    This study aims to analyze the pedagogical role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in instilling friendly character through greeting activities at SMP Negeri 10 Palembang, amid increasing bullying, declining empathy, and weakening face-to-face interactions among students in the digital era. Using a qualitative method with a sociological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation of the “Morning Greeting” activity and greeting practices in the classroom, as well as visual documentation and school documents. Informants were determined through purposive and snowball sampling until data saturation was reached, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with triangulation verification of sources, methods, and time. The results of the study show that greeting activities function as social rituals that build positive interactions and strengthen emotional closeness among students. PAI teachers play a role through exemplifying the correct greeting, integrating the value of greeting into learning, habituating greetings before and after lessons, and reinforcing behavior through rewards. Consistent practice of greeting fosters empathy, social awareness, inclusive attitudes, and students\u27 ability to cooperate and show solidarity. Additionally, greeting activities effectively reduce dependence on gadgets and restore the quality of face-to-face interactions, making them an important strategy for overcoming adolescent individualism in the digital age. This study confirms that greetings are a simple yet significant pedagogical intervention in shaping friendly character and creating a harmonious and inclusive school culture

    Analysis of the Pedagogical Competence of Islamic Education Teachers in Improving Student Understanding in Madrasah Aliyah

    Islamic Religious Education (PAI) affects students\u27 morals, attitudes, and understanding. The pedagogic ability of teachers to supervise the learning process has an impact on the effectiveness of PAI teaching. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pedagogic competence of PAI teachers in managing learning and its impact on students\u27 religious understanding and development. This research uses phenomenological, qualitative, and field research methodologies. Teachers of Islamic Cultural History (SKI), Al-Qur\u27an Hadith, Fiqih, and Aqidah Akhlak acted as supporting informants. Observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation are the methods used to collect data. Technical triangulation is used to assess the validity of the data, while data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing are used to analyze the data. As a result of the research, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at MA Al-Islam Jamsaren Surakarta have successfully applied their pedagogic skills. This is evidenced by the ability of teachers to prepare lessons, choose various contextual strategies and techniques, use dialogical learning, and conduct continuous evaluation and learning exercises. Students\u27 understanding in the cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor realms is positively influenced by the teacher\u27s pedagogic competence. The pedagogic competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is supported by a number of elements, including educational background, teaching experience, support from school policies, and the availability of learning infrastructure and facilities. On the other hand, limited time for learning activities and variations in students\u27 motivation and learning capacity are limiting factors

    Islamic Religious Education Teachers\u27 Strategies in Increasing Religious Awareness

    Religious awareness is very important for students to give direction to a righteous life physically and spiritually. The strategy of Islamic Religious Education teachers plays a role in fostering religious awareness in students so as to form a person with noble character. The research uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach through interviews, observations and documentation and the source of research data is Islamic Religious Education teachers and students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Karanganyar. The results of the study show that Islamic Religious Education teachers in increasing religious awareness at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Karanganyar use several strategies including through the habit of congregational prayer, giving advice through general studies, motivation, and theoretical knowledge applied since 2015 for all students from grades 10, 11 and 12. With the implementation of this strategy, it is hoped that all students will be accustomed to doing worship such as prayer so as to form a person with noble and disciplined character and responsibility. In addition to building character, this strategy aims to give students an understanding that every kindness has a positive impact on themselves and others

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII B pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMP Negeri 6 Kabupaten Muaro Jambi, yang tampak pada rendahnya fokus belajar, kedisiplinan kelas, serta kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap strategi guru PAI dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, mengidentifikasi kendala yang memengaruhi motivasi, serta mendeskripsikan metode penyampaian materi yang digunakan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi kepala sekolah, guru PAI, siswa, dan pengelola perpustakaan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, serta diuji keabsahannya dengan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi guru PAI dilakukan melalui penguatan nilai religius (menekankan pentingnya PAI untuk kehidupan dunia-akhirat), penyampaian kisah keteladanan, pemberian penguatan positif melalui apresiasi nilai, serta motivasi verbal yang mendorong semangat belajar. Kendala utama meliputi metode pembelajaran yang kurang variatif dan keterbatasan sumber belajar. Temuan ini berimplikasi pada pentingnya inovasi strategi pembelajaran PAI yang lebih interaktif dan dukungan fasilitas belajar agar pembelajaran lebih bermakna dan mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa secara berkelanjutan

    Recontextualization of Islamic-Malay Ethics through Modern Zapin: A Didactic Analysis of Lesti Kejora\u27s Song in Character Education

    The erosion of cultural identity among Generation Z necessitates an innovative approach to character education through the recontextualization of local wisdom. This study aims to analyze the integration of moral and cultural values within the song "Zapin Melayu," a modern adaptation performed by Lesti Kejora, and evaluates its relevance as a pedagogical medium for character formation in contemporary education. Employing a qualitative descriptive design with content analysis, this research examines lyrical narratives and historical archives to interpret latent didactic messages. The findings reveal that "Zapin Melayu" serves as a sophisticated synthesis of Islamic theological principles and indigenous Malay ethics, encompassing themes of sincerity (ikhlas), social decorum (adab), and collective harmony. The results demonstrate that through its "dynamic packaging," this modern iteration successfully preserves the ontological essence of traditional art while resonating with modern musical sensibilities. Consequently, the song functions not merely as aesthetic entertainment but as a critical ethno-pedagogical tool that fosters spiritual awareness and social solidarity. This study concludes that the revitalization of traditional arts through contemporary media is imperative for fortifying national identity and internalizing akhlaqul karimah amidst the pressures of global homogenization

    Strategi Partai Golkar Dalam Meningkatkan Perolehan Suara Pada Pemilu Jawa Barat 2024

    Penelitian ini menganalisis masalah rendahnya perolehan suara Partai Golkar di Pemilu sebelumnya di Jawa Barat, di tengah transformasi pasca-reformasi yang menuntut strategi komunikasi politik inovatif untuk Pemilu 2024, khususnya menghadapi kompetisi ketat dari Gerindra dan PKS. Tujuan utama adalah mendalami strategi defensif (konsolidasi internal kader, loyalitas basis massa melalui koordinasi pusat-daerah) dan ofensif (ekspansi dukungan via media sosial Instagram, agenda setting pada isu pembangunan ekonomi, stabilitas politik, pemberdayaan UMKM, serta pengalaman kader), guna memahami faktor pencapaian posisi teratas. Metode kualitatif deskriptif diterapkan dengan wawancara mendalam pengurus DPD Golkar Jawa Barat (Informan H. Kusnadi dan Gunawan), observasi kampanye, analisis konten media sosial, data KPU, serta teori agenda setting Rogers & Dearing, diolah melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi Miles & Huberman dengan triangulasi sumber-metode. Hasil menunjukkan Golkar meraih 4.292.082 suara (16,33%) di DPR RI Jawa Barat dan 3.590.621 suara (15,83%, 19 kursi) di DPRD, didorong citra positif melalui media massa yang meredam isu negatif serta program pro-rakyat, meski dikritik manipulatif. Strategi terintegrasi efektif, tapi perlu autentisitas lapangan untuk keberlanjutan. Kontribusi: tolak ukur elektoral berbasis data-teknologi bagi partai lain, pendidikan politik masyarakat Jawa Barat, dan pengayaan ilmu politik Indonesia.This research analyzes the masalah rendahnya perolehan suara Partai Golkar di Pemilu sebelumnya di Jawa Barat, amidst the post-reform transformation that demands innovative political communication strategies for the 2024 election, particularly facing the intense competition from Gerindra and PKS. The main objective is to explore defensive strategies (internal cadre consolidation, loyalty of the mass base through central-regional coordination) and offensive strategies (expanding support via Instagram social media, agenda setting on issues of economic development, political stability, MSME empowerment, and cadre experience), to understand the factors behind achieving the top position. The method applied is qualitative descriptive, using in-depth interviews with DPD Golkar West Java officials (Informan H. Kusnadi and Gunawan), campaign observations, social media content analysis, KPU data, and Rogers & Dearing’s agenda setting theory, processed through Miles & Huberman\u27s data reduction, presentation, verification, and source-method triangulation. The results show that Golkar obtained 4,292,082 votes (16.33%) in the West Java DPR RI and 3,590,621 votes (15.83%, 19 seats) in the DPRD, driven by a positive image through mass media that subdued negative issues and pro-people programs, although criticized as manipulative. The conclusion is that the integrated strategy is effective but needs authenticity on the ground for sustainability. The contribution includes an electoral benchmark based on data technology for other parties, political education for West Java society, and enrichment of political science in Indonesia

    The Qur’anic Perspective On Humanity : Foundations Of Dignity, Justice, And Compassion

     The Qur’an articulates a universal and comprehensive vision of humanity rooted in the divine principles of dignity (karāmah), justice (‘adl), and compassion (raḥmah). It envisions every human being as a bearer of divine trust (amānah) and moral accountability, transcending all barriers of race, ethnicity, religion, and geography. This paper explores how the Qur’anic conception of the human being forms a holistic moral framework that upholds equality, justice, and compassion as inseparable dimensions of human existence. Through an interpretive analysis of key Qur’anic themes such as the innate honor granted to humanity, the moral responsibility entrusted to human beings as God’s vicegerents on earth, and the divine command to establish justice the study demonstrates that human worth in Islam is intrinsic rather than acquired, and moral responsibility is universal rather than selective.Employing a qualitative-descriptive methodology based on thematic exegesis (tafsīr mawḍūʿī) and comparative analysis of classical and contemporary Qur’anic commentaries, the research investigates how these teachings provide an ethical response to modern moral challenges, including social inequality, racial discrimination, and the erosion of compassion in global societies. The paper argues that the Qur’an does not merely propose a theological doctrine of faith but offers a coherent and dynamic moral philosophy one that integrates spirituality with social ethics, and divine revelation with human responsibility. Ultimately, the study concludes that the Qur’anic vision represents a timeless charter for human dignity and global harmony, capable of guiding contemporary humanity toward peace, justice, and moral balance

    The Qur’an presents a comprehensive and timeless framework for understanding humanity and social justice, emphasizing the inherent dignity, equality, and moral responsibility of all human beings. Humanity is portrayed as a divine trust, grounded in the belief that all people are created by Allah from a single soul and are equal in worth, irrespective of race, status, or gender. The Qur’an underscores compassion, mercy, and mutual respect as essential principles for nurturing harmonious human relationships and cohesive communities. It calls for justice and fairness in all dealings, urging believers to uphold equity even against personal or collective interests. Justice, in the Qur’anic vision, transcends mere retribution to embody moral balance and social harmony, ensuring the protection of every individual’s rights and dignity. The integration of humanity and social justice in the Qur’an establishes a moral order in which compassion inspires justice, and justice, in turn, preserves human dignity. This research examines key Qur’anic teachings and classical interpretations that illuminate the interconnection between humanity and justice as reflections of divine mercy, equality, and moral accountability. Ultimately, the Qur’anic perspective envisions a just and compassionate society in which human rights, equality, and moral integrity are upheld as expressions of divine guidance and wisdom

    Development of Islamic Boarding School Management As An Agent of Change in Improving the Quality of Education in the Modern Era

    This study aims to analyse the development of pesantren management as an effort to improve the quality of education and sustainability of institutions in the modern era. The main focus of this study is how pesantren can act as agents of change through effective and adaptive educational management in the face of globalisation challenges. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analysing various literature sources, including books, journal articles, and relevant research reports. The collected data was analysed through the stages of identification, selection, classification, and synthesis of findings to produce a comprehensive picture of pesantren management. The results show that the development of pesantren management, which includes planning, organising, implementing, and supervising, can improve the effectiveness of education, produce competent graduates, and maintain the relevance of traditional values to modern demands. Thus, pesantren not only function as traditional Islamic educational institutions, but also as agents of change that contribute to the development of society and the nation

    The Quran has placed great emphasis on educational literacy since the beginning of its revelation, thus establishing Muslims in history as a group that built a great civilisation and played a significant role as a centre of world knowledge. This is evidenced by the emergence of a strong intellectual tradition among Muslims, ranging from mastery of religious knowledge to the development of general knowledge. In this context, literacy is not merely the ability to read and write, but also encompasses the skills to understand, analyse, and critique various issues facing society. This article specifically discusses Quranic literacy education through the perspective of Prof. Mahmud Yunus, a legendary Indonesian exegete who wrote a monumental work entitled Tafsir Al-Qur\u27an Al Karim. This study employs a literature review approach with a content analysis method to explore the meaning of literacy in the verses of the Qur\u27an as confirmed by Mahmud Yunus. The results show that many verses of the Qur\u27an emphasise the importance of literacy, for example through the command to read (iqra\u27), write with a pen (qalam), and think critically about social reality and natural phenomena. Literacy in this perspective is seen as an important instrument for discovering new knowledge, developing traditional records, and building a culture of reflective thinking in society. Thus, literacy education based on the Qur\u27an can be the main foundation for Muslims in facing the challenges of the times while maintaining the relevance of Islamic teachings in modern life.
