Full text linkThe present paper deals with research on two ablution halls that, apart from a few superficial references, have never received special attention in studies dedicated to the Islamic West. These two buildings of great architectural interest are linked to each other thanks to their common design, chronology and comparable location, as they both act as the main annexes of the two major congregational mosques in Fez (al-Qarawiyyīn and al-Andalusiyyīn). In fact, both buildings seem to have originated in the Almohad period and, to date, they represent the only examples of this type known for that time in the Maghreb. In this regard, documenting and analysing them on the basis of material and textual sources are indispensable tasks that can contribute to knowledge of these facilities from several perspectives: their function, their meaning for society, their location within the urban setting and the evolution of the architectural model.El presente artículo aborda el estudio de dos salas de abluciones que, salvo por algunas menciones superficiales, nunca han sido objeto de especial atención por parte de los trabajos dedicados al Occidente islámico. Se trata de dos edificios de gran interés arquitectónico que están hermanados entre sí gracias a su diseño, cronología y ubicación, pues funcionan respectivamente como el principal anexo de las dos aljamas de Fez (al-Qarawiyyīn y al-Andalusiyyīn). De hecho, ambas construcciones parecen haber sido originadas en la época almohade y, hasta la fecha, son los únicos ejemplos de su tipo que se conocen para dicho periodo en el Magreb. A este respecto, su documentación y análisis, a partir de fuentes materiales y textuales, representa una labor indispensable que puede contribuir en el conocimiento de estos equipamientos a partir de varios aspectos: su función, su significado para la sociedad, su implantación urbana y la evolución del modelo arquitectónico

Full text linkIn previous research with its roots in the philological tradition initiated by Ramón Menéndez Pidal, metrical studies have been used to characterise the shifts in sound changes in each historical stage of the language. In this same line, the current research aims to provide a descriptive analysis of the phonetic features underlying the extant documentation, closely linked to the fifteenth-century courtly environment and its survival, as a linguistic model, in the romances of Luis de Gongora. From the systematic application of this philological tool, it is possible to obtain rigorous and valid results concerning the interpretation of their graphic materiality in order to outline, even though only minimally, that sort of linguistic standard in the framework of poetic treatises and early historiography tradition.En investigaciones que hunden sus raíces en la tradición filológica iniciada por Ramón Menéndez Pidal se ha empleado el estudio de la métrica a la hora de caracterizar el estado variacional del componente fónico de la lengua en cada una de sus etapas históricas. En esta misma línea, la presente investigación pretende ser una contribución descriptivo-analítica de los rasgos fonético-fonológicos subyacentes en la documentación conservada, estrechamente vinculada con el entorno cortesano del cuatrocientos y su pervivencia, a modo de modelo lingüístico, en los romances de Luis de Góngora. A partir de la aplicación sistemática de la presente herramienta filológica, es posible obtener resultados de rigor a la hora de interpretar la materialidad gráfica conservada y esbozar, aunque sea mínimamente, esa suerte de estándar lingüístico a la luz de los tratados poéticos y las primeras obras de codificación lingüística
