Επίπληξη και εντολή συμμόρφωσης στην Cosmote για παραβάσεις της αρχής της λογοδοσίας και της αρχής της διαφάνειας σε επεξεργασία βιομετρικών δεδομένων
No full textΗ Αρχή εξέτασε καταγγελία συνδρομήτριας της Cosmote σχετικά με τη διαδικασία εξ αποστάσεως σύναψης νέων συμβολαίων μέσω της υπηρεσίας digital onboarding, στο πλαίσιο της οποίας λαμβάνει χώρα ηλεκτρονική ταυτοποίηση του συνδρομητή με την επεξεργασία βιομετρικών δεδομένων του (φωτογράφιση σε πραγματικό χρόνο - real time selfie), με νομική βάση τη συναίνεση του συνδρομητή (άρθρο 9 παρ. 2 α) ΓΚΠΔ). Για το σκοπό χρησιμοποιείται τεχνολογία τεχνητής νοημοσύνης που πραγματοποιεί την επιβεβαίωση της αυθεντικότητας της φωτογραφίας και η αντιστοίχισή της με τη φωτογραφία του προσώπου του εκάστοτε συνδρομητή της υπηρεσίας.Επισημαίνεται ότι τα βιομετρικά δεδομένα εμπίπτουν στις ειδικές κατηγορίες δεδομένων, για τις οποίες προβλέπονται αυστηρότερες προϋποθέσεις για να επιτρέπεται η επεξεργασία τους σε σχέση με τα κοινά δεδομένα προσωπικού χαρακτήρα.Αρχικώς, το γενικό κείμενο ενημέρωσης σχετικά με την επεξεργασία δεδομένων μέσω της ιστοσελίδας για την υπηρεσία onboarding δεν περιείχε πληροφορίες για την επεξεργασία βιομετρικών δεδομένων, έτσι, προστέθηκε ειδική ενημέρωση για την επεξεργασία βιομετρικών δεδομένων, μετά την καταγγελία. Η Αρχή έκρινε ότι η παρεχόμενη ενημέρωση προς τους συνδρομητές περιείχε ασάφειες και ελλείψεις, οι οποίες αφορούν και τον ρόλο της τρίτης εταιρείας IntelliSolutions Information Services A.E. ως εκτελούσας την επεξεργασία και πιθανής αποδέκτριας των βιομετρικών δεδομένων. Κατ' ακολουθία, απηύθυνε επίπληξη στην καταγγελλόμενη για τις διαπιστωθείσες παραβάσεις των άρθρων 5 παρ. 1 α’, 13 και 5 παρ. 2 ΓΚΠΔ και της έδωσε εντολή να τροποποιήσει και να συμπληρώσει κατάλληλα το κείμενο ενημέρωσης των υποκειμένων, προς τον σκοπό της πλήρους συμμόρφωσής της με την αρχή της διαφάνειας της επεξεργασίας, ενημερώνοντας σχετικά την Αρχή.Θα πρέπει να επισημανθεί ότι με την απόφαση αυτή δεν τίθενται εμπόδια στη χρησιμοποίηση βιομετρικών τεχνικών αναγνώρισης προσωπων με σκοπό την ηλεκτρονική ταυτοποίηση συνδρομητών σε μια υπηρεσία. Η επεξεργασία αυτή, στο βαθμό που λαμβάνεται συγκατάθεση από το υποκείμενο των δεδομένων, σύμφωνα με το άρθρο 9 παρ. 1 περ. α΄ ΓΚΠΔ, είναι νόμιμη. Εν προκειμένω, είχε γίνει και εκτίμηση αντικτύπου στην προστασία δεδομένων από τον υπεύθυνο επεξεργασίας, κατά το άρθρο 35 ΓΚΠΔ, η οποία ήταν απαραίτητη για τη συγκεκριμένη επεξεργασία που έκανε χρήση νέων τεχνολογιών. Ωστόσο, υπήρχαν κάποιες ασάφειες στην ενημέρωση των συνδρομητών και για αυτό, η Αρχή απηύθυνε επίπληξη προς την καταγγελόμενη εταιρία

No full textSelon le folkloriste russe Vladimir Propp, la fonction du « manque » constitue un élément structurel du conte extrêmement important, dans la mesure où il donne à celui-ci son mouvement, mobilisant la quête du héros. Dans le cadre de cet article, nous tentons d’analyser comment quelques auteurs se sont appropriés au fil du temps cet élément fondamental du conte, l’investissant chaque fois d’une signification particulière, en vue de l’insérer dans un contexte socioculturel précis. À cet égard, nous nous penchons sur trois réécritures contemporaines qui revisitent « Le Petit Poucet » de Charles Perrault

Translating Folktales into Chinese Animated Films
No full textAs China continues to play an increasingly dynamic role in international society, attention to its cultural relevance is also on the rise. This is indicated in the global popularity of recent Chinese animated films adapted from Chinese folktale, such as Xiyouji zhi dasheng guilai (Monkey King: Hero is Back) (2015), Nezha zhi motong jiangshi (Ne Zha) (2019) and Baishe: Yuanqi (White Snake) (2019) in the global market. But while these films offer international society a new window to access Chinese culture, they also pose challenges presented by their innate Chinese elements which significantly differ from the West’s conventional presentation of Chinese culture. Since most Chinese animations are adapted from Chinese folktale which contains rich cultural elements that are context-dependant and exclusive to Chinese communities, intercultural interaction that happened within an animated film can include adaptation of the story from the original source to the script; intersemiotics translation from script to the audiovisual production; and interlingual translation which occurs in bilingual subtitles. Looking to the performance of Chinese animated films both at home and abroad, this paper aims to evaluate the above translation-related activities and the success of a Chinese animated film. Special attention will be paid to the extent to which cultural translation plays a role in the making of these animated films
Mucha-Habermann disease in a 72 year old man with recurrent skin papules and leg ulcers
No full textBackround: Mucha-Habermann disease, otherwise known as Pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta (PLEVA) is a rare cutaneous inflammatory disorder that usually presents as an acute eruption of inflammatory papules and papulovesicles with rapid progression to hemorrhagic or necrotic crusts. Cutaneous lesions may be asymptomatic, pruritic, or associated with a burning sensation. PLEVA commonly refers to a spectrum of inflammatory disorders.Case report: A diabetic 72 year old man was admitted for pruritic erythematous eruption with scaly maculopapules and ulceronecrotic - crusted lesions measuring 5–25 mm, localized on his trunk and lower extremities. The patient reported a relapsing and remitting course of the rash for one year. Laboratory investigation showed leukocytosis and CRP elevation. Viral serology liver and renal studies, C3, C4, serum protein electrophoresis, immunoglobulins, antinuclear antibodies and bacterial cultures were normal. Punch biopsy was performed. Histopathology showed parakeratosis, mild epidermal acanthosis, exocytosis of erythrocytes and lymphocytes, vacuolizasion of the basal layer, presence of necrotic keratinocytes and extensive lymphocytic inflammatory infiltrates. Diagnosis of PLEVA was established from the association of clinical and histological data. The patient received therapy with topical steroids, doxycycline, and methylprednisolone. Periodical follow up and annual consultation for a full skin examination was advised.Conclusion: PLEVA is a rare entity that presents difficulties in both diagnosis and treatment. Patients with refractory disease may require UVB phototherapy or methotrexate administration as an adjunct to first line treatment. Despite its benign and self-limiting course, it may be associated with cutaneous lymphoma, so annual full skin examination is indicated.
Evaluation of Nursing Homes for elderly during SARS-CoV-2 [COVID-19] pandemic in Greece
No full textIntroduction: The Nursing Homes (NHs) for the elderly are closed structures accommodating elderly people, whether they are self-sufficient or not, and provide them the necessary daily care. During the SARS-CoV-2 [COVID-19] pandemic break out a number of sanitary measures implemented, so that the elderly people residing in those centres to be efficiently protected.Methodology: On-site inspections of the NHs were carried out from 01/01/2020 to 31/12/2020. An audit tool was used, adapted to the sanitary measures defined according to the current legislation, to verify and to monitor the implementation of those measures, thus ensuring the maximum possible accurate recording of compliance or failure of compliance with the sanitary rules.Results: On the completion of the NHs inspection, there were some regulation violations detected, regarding mandatory health protocols which were not applied. Therefore, fines were imposed accordingly. Out of the 95 NHs inspected, there were 12 charged with sanitary regulation violations and the fines imposed by Hellenic National Transparency Authority reached the amount of 69,000 euros.Conclusion: On-site inspection of the NHs in Greece showed that 87% of those complied with the SARS-CoV-2 [COVID-19] sanitary measures implemented, indicating that the majority of NHs operated according to the necessary hygienic rules
PPARβ/δ at the crossroads of energy metabolism, mitochondrial quality control and redox balance
No full textPeroxisome proliferator-activated receptor β/δ (PPARβ/δ), member of the PPAR subfamily of nuclear receptors, is highly expressed in tissues with high rates of oxidative metabolism, such as the heart, skeletal muscle and liver. PPARβ/δ exerts its transcriptional control by direct binding on specific response elements on target genes promoters with the help of cofactors resulting in transactivation or transrepression of multiple genes involved in energy metabolism, mitochondrial biogenesis, or antioxidant defense. Several pre-clinical studies have shown that reduced PPARβ/δ expression in the heart is associated with diminished cardiac performance, impaired contractility and relaxation and even decreased survival in cardiomyopathies with distinct aetiologies while ligand-mediated activation or overexpression of PPARβ/δ has been shown to be protective in the setting of ischemia/reperfusion injury and several types of cardiomyopathies (dilated, hypertrophic or diabetic). PPARβ/δ stimulates fatty acid and glucose uptake as well as fatty acid oxidation but does not control triglyceride synthesis. In parallel, PPARβ/δ upregulates PGC1α, which is the critical regulator of mitochondrial biogenesis, and is also associatedwith mediators of mitochondrial fusion/fission and components of mitochondrial respiration. In addition, PPARβ/δ has been linked to multiple antioxidant defense mechanisms in the heart, including SOD1 and 2, Catalase, ALDH2 or NF-κB related pathways. Overall, this review summarizes the research data on the role of PPARβ/δ in the regulation of cardiac energy metabolism, antioxidant defense systems and mitochondrial quality control. Those data suggest the potential of PPARβ/δ activation as a therapeutic target for patients with cardiometabolic disorders

No full textΗ φιγούρα του Ελ Γκρέκο υπήρξε εμβληματική για την ζωγραφική όχι μόνο για την ισπανική τέχνη αλλά και για όλον τον κόσμο καθώς, αιώνες μετά από το θάνατό του, συνεχίζει να δημιουργεί συναισθήματα στους εραστές της τέχνης.Στο συγκεκριμένο άρθρο γίνεται μία σύντομη παρουσίαση της ζωής και του έργου του και το ενδιαφέρον επικεντρώνεται στις περιοχές όπου ένας ταξιδιώτης μπορεί να θαυμάσει τους πίνακές του στην Ελλάδα και ειδικά στο Ηράκλειο. Στην συνέχεια παρουσιάζεται μία έρευνα για τα σημεία ενδιαφέροντος για τον Ελ Γκρέκο στην κρητική πόλη.La figura di El Greco è stata emblematica per quanto concerne il corso della pittura sia per l’arte spagnola ma anche per l’arte mondiale in genere. Infatti, anche oggi, secoli dopo la sua morte, continua ad appassionare gli amanti del mondo artistico.In questo articolo viene fatta una breve presentazione della sua vita e opera. L'interesse si concentra in Grecia e piú precisamente ad Heraklion. Cioè sui luoghi della città summenzionata dove un viaggiatore può ammirare i suoi dipinti. Nella seconda parte, invece, viene presentata una ricerca fatta sui punti d’ interesse della città per quanto riguarda El Greco e le sue opere d’arte
