Positive emotions and self-regulation strategies in EFL classroom situations
This paper investigates emotions and emotion-regulation strategies when students deal with three classroom scenarios: having one-to-one tutorials, working in groups, and grammar rule repetition. One hundred and six Greek university students participated in the study. The instrument used is a scenario-based questionnaire, which incorporates elements of both quantitative and qualitative methods. Data analysis indicated that, despite the positive emotions students express in such scenarios, they have not experienced such situations as much as they would wish to in their classrooms. Results are discussed in relation to frequency and quality of the emotions and the implications these may have for language teachers employed in EFL classroom settings
On the occasion of the two hundredth anniversary of the Revolution of 1821, a collective translation group was created in the frame of the course "Translation of General Texts from Italian to Greek" of the Joint Postgraduate Studies Programme (J.P.P.S.) «Conference Interpreting and Translation» of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki taught by Professor of History and Translation of Italian Literature Zozi Zografidou and Dr. of Translation Studies Ilias Spyridonidis with the aim to study, to annotate and document a translation of an Italian text related to the Greek Revolution which has not been translated before into Greek. For this purpose, some fragments of untranslated letters of the Italian philhellene Santorre di Santarosa accompanied by Nicomede’s Bianchi comments included in the work Memorie e lettere inedite are presented in the context of this study, as an attempt of a collective annotated translation and documentation

The Greek and German narrative micro-structure of heritage speakers: A corpus study
Narratives have been extensively used as a tool to investigate language development in various populations, such as children and second language learners. However, the narrative abilities of heritage populations remain underexplored, and the body of work especially in heritage adults is very limited. The present study explores the micro-structure of spoken narratives (i.e., number of words and clauses, lexical diversity, subordination, and conjunctions) produced by adult Greek-German heritage bilinguals residing in Germany and compares them with the monolingual groups. Additionally, the study explores the narrative performance between the heritage and the majority language of the heritage group with the aim to explore the same/different patterns they follow in each language as well as individual variation (i.e., working memory). The results show that heritage adults exhibit both similarities and differences compared to monolinguals, with differences being more prominent in the heritage language, while working memory modulates narration length and syntactic complexity
