IMMUNOMODULATORY ACTIVITY OF MESENCHYMAL STEM CELLS

    No full text
AbstractMesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) represent a promising tool in modern regenerative medicine due to their dual ability to modulate immune responses and promote tissue repair. Derived from various adult and perinatal sources, MSCs exhibit multipotent differentiation potential and a unique immunomodulatory profile, making them suitable candidates for the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. This literature review explores the biological characteristics, isolation methods, and immunosuppressive mechanisms of MSCs, with emphasis on their interactions with immune cells and paracrine signaling through cytokines and extracellular vesicles. Current clinical applications are highlighted, particularly in autoimmune conditions and tissue regeneration, demonstrating therapeutic efficacy in multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and orthopedic injuries. Furthermore, emerging technologies such as genetic modification, 3D cultures, and nanotechnology are discussed as avenues for enhancing MSC therapeutic potential. While challenges remain, including ethical concerns, standardization issues, and safety monitoring, MSCs continue to shape the future of cell-based therapies by offering novel strategies for treating chronic, multifactorial diseases

THE IMPACT OF MARITAL SATISFACTION, CHILDREN'S DISABILITY, AND FAMILY CHARACTERISTICS ON FATHER INVOLVEMENT

    No full text
Father involvement is embodied in the diverse ways through which the father engages with the child and can be considered a major challenge. Amongst the factors linked to father’s involvement, marital satisfaction and family characteristics are of primary importance. This study aimed to reveal potential differences between mothers and fathers with and without a child with disabilities regarding their subjective views towards father involvement. Moreover, to identify potential predictors of father involvement. A total number of 146 parents (fathers: n = 67 and mothers: n = 79) participated in the study. They were administered the Father Involvement Scale (Bragiel Kaniok, 2011) and the Marital Satisfaction Scale (Braun-Galkowska, 2007). Results suggested that family characteristics and marital satisfaction predict subjective views toward father involvement. Results are discussed concerning their implications for future theory, methodology, and counseling

Primae Resurrectionis testes. Tracce della presenza delle mirofore nella liturgia occidentale

    No full text
The study investigates the presence and liturgical treatment of the Myrrh-bearing Women in the Western tradition by exploring textual, ritual, and devotional traces of their cult, and contrasting them with their prominent role in Byzantine liturgy. In the Latin liturgy, references to these women are sparse and mostly indirect, largely confined to the Easter Vigil, whose ceremonies were enriched by early medieval liturgical drama, such as the Visitatio Sepulchri, where the Women play a central role. Particular attention is given to the medieval cult of the “Three Marys” and the development of proper liturgical texts in France and beyond, marking a significant transition of the cult into popular devotion. The comparative analysis, which highlights the diversity of liturgical languages in East and West, is accompanied by a critical edition of the texts for the Mass of the Three Marys, based on more than forty late medieval and early modern Missals. Primae Resurrectionis testes.Tracce della presenza delle mirofore nella liturgia occidental

Abstract: The present study constitutes an attempt to document the most common errors made by students when preparing assignments for university courses. We have categorized these errors according to all levels of linguistic analysis, in order to help students avoid them in the future. The method adopted is that of error analysis, based on a corpus of our students’ assignments. The errors show the difficulties encountered by our students and the strategies they employed when making these errors. Our data were taken from assignments given to fourth-year students at the University of Thrace, Department of Primary Level Education. These students were native speakers of Greek, who were requested to fill tasksheets on various subjects of pedagogical-didactical content, each containing 800-1,000 words. Our corpus is not electronic. We detected errors in morphology (wrong declination of nouns/adjectives/verbs), syntax (incorrect punctuation, incomplete/long sentences, use of subordinate clauses instead of main clauses, incongruity of terms, wrong use of terms, mixing of the active and passive participles, etc.), and lexis (use of ‘is’/ ‘have’ constructions, and colloquial terms). In the present paper, we focus on syntactic issues, which seem to derive from the inadequate use of highly formal language, whose constraints and function are not internalized by our students, as well as the dominance of the spoken language in written texts. The results show that these syntactic errors have not been dealt with during the twelve years of primary and secondary education. Categorizing these errors will make our students more sensitive and aware of them in the future

Exploitation de corpus dans un dispositif hybride de français pour spécialistes d’autres disciplines en milieu exolingue

This article explores the role of a corpus-based approach and pedagogical differentiation in teaching and learning specialized French terminology and collocations in an exolingual context. It aims to address the need for greater professionalisation of learners in the Languages for Specific Purposes (LANSAD) sector, where instruction often prioritizes transversal skills due to students' diverse disciplinary backgrounds. In a previous study, the author developed a pedagogical scenario for teaching French for international relations centred on learning terminology and collocations through discussion of current topics. Building on this, the article presents an action-research project aimed at testing this scenario in a blended learning environment involving learners from various disciplines. The findings suggest that integrating corpora into collaborative tasks enhances the acquisition of specialized terminology and facilitates communication between experts and non-experts. However, improvements are needed to strengthen students' ability to use such tools. While this approach increases teacher workload, shifting some responsibility to students could lead to a more balanced and effective learning environment
