Greek Translations of Church Slavonic Hymnography: The Akathist to Saint Great Martyr Barbara in the Translation of Prohegumen Philaretos VatopaidinosThe present presents the text of the Greek translation of the Church Slavonic Akathist to the Saint Greatmartyr Varvara by Joasaph Krokowski (1710), performed by the Prohegumen of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi Philaretos in 1869. The published text is based on the autograph manuscript number 717 (19th century) from the collection of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi. In the short preface we present the information concerning the Slavonic origin of the Akathist to the Saint Greatmartyr Varvara and its place in the Slavonic hymnographic tradition, the personality of the translator, the manuscript’s features, the historical and philological context of the certain translation as well as the characteristics of the translator’s technique. The certain case study reveals the role of the Athonite holy fathers in the Greek-Slavic spiritual dialogue
PSYCHOSOCIAL FACTORS AFFECTING THE SEXUAL FUNCTION OF GREEK MALES
The present study investigated the prevalence of male sexual dysfunction, with specific focus on the impact of anxiety and quality of intimate relationships on it. The study employed a cross-sectional design, utilizing a sample (N = 416) of adult heterosexual males from the Greek general population (M = 49, SD = 0.60), recruited from a widely used social media platform. Elevated levels of state and trait anxiety were found to have a negative correlation with erectile function levels, whereas higher levels of relationship quality were positively correlated with erectile function. Regression analysis revealed a significant negative impact of diabetes mellitus and state-trait anxiety, as well as a positive impact of marital quality and the use of erectile aids on erectile function. The findings suggest it is essential to consider psychological factors and marital quality when assessing and treating sexual dysfunction
In this article, based on the historical data of the last decade of the twelfth century, we examine the controversy that broke out in Constantinople, within the Orthodox Church, concerning the corruptible or incorruptible of the eucharistic body. We mainly present and analyse the theology of worship, through which the heretical view of the corruptibility of the Christ’s body in the Eucharist was refuted. The main exponent of this heretical doctrine was Myron Sikidites. The Fathers of the Church convoked a Council (1199-1200) to condemn Sikitides’ positions. They did not use methods and evidence based on human reasoning to explain the sacraments. On the contrary, relying on the liturgical-eucharistic logos of the holy Fathers before them, they defended the Orthodox faith, which enables the purified, enlightened and divinized man to understand existentially the mysteries of God. In this way they responded to the challenge of their time, namely to the question of the corruptible or incorruptible of the eucharistic body, by refuting the heretical inventions of Sikidites. Their answer, of course, has timeless value and validity, because there are always people who try to interpret the faith by reason alone. Particularly in the present age, in which, in addition to natural intelligence, artificial intelligence is also used.
Quelle place et quelle modalité de relation aux experts dans un contexte d'apprentissage de la terminologie en master de traduction ?
As part of their academic training, translation and communication masters students are exposed to specialised texts for training purposes. Terminology is an essential aspect of specialised translation. Theoretical terminology courses alternate with practical workshops in order to transform the knowledge acquired in theoretical courses into skills. We propose three ways of putting this knowledge into practice in an academic setting: the experimental terminology course, the terminology project for an organisation, and the research dissertation. This article examines, through each of these methods, the use of single and multiple expertise in a context that is both didactic and institutional. It looks at the methods of communication with the expert(s), the divergence of expert points of view and the attitude students need to develop in order to accept and respond to this divergence

Evaluating Machine Learning Approaches for Heart Disease Prediction with SPECT data: A Comparison between Logistic Regression and Random Forest Models
The integration of machine learning with medical imaging has the potential to revolutionize diagnostic processes. This study compares the efficacy of Logistic Regression (LR) and Random Forest (RF) models in predicting heart disease using SPECT imaging data. Utilizing a dataset from Kaggle, the study involved preprocessing steps including data standardization and feature selection with SelectKBest and Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE). The models were trained and validated on separate datasets, with performance assessed through accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity metrics. Findings revealed that the LR model achieved a slightly higher accuracy of 71.12% compared to the RF model's 70.59%. Both models demonstrated identical sensitivity, but the LR model excelled in specificity, indicating better performance in identifying non-diseased cases. This comparative analysis underscores the potential of machine learning models in enhancing the accuracy and reliability of heart disease diagnosis from SPECT images, suggesting further exploration into multimodal approaches for improved predictive capabilities
CONTRIBUTION OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY TO THE MENTAL HEALTH OF THE ELDERLY
This study examines the contribution of occupational therapy to the mental health and well-being of older adults. Occupational therapy, a scientific approach utilizing targeted activities, is crucial for improving functionality and quality of life, particularly in preventing and managing mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline in the elderly. The primary aim of this research was to assess the satisfaction of participants with an occupational therapy program implemented at the Elderly Open Care Center of Soufli from January to July 2024.A mixed-methods approach was employed, primarily using a structured questionnaire incorporating CSAT and Likert scales for quantitative data, supplemented by three open-ended questions for qualitative insights. Data were analyzed using PSPP software, and reliability analysis indicated high internal consistency for measures of satisfaction and therapist evaluation. Results highlighted the significant role of occupational therapy in enhancing social interaction, reducing isolation, fostering enthusiasm and anticipation among participants, and alleviating anxiety and depression through creative and relaxing activities. The program also incorporated fine motor exercises, contributing to improved physical function, daily living autonomy, and self-esteem. The findings confirm that occupational therapy within community settings like KAPI effectively promotes mental well-being, social integration, autonomy, and overall quality of life for older adults
