Get PDF本研究では、国際関係において階級社会と不条理に視点を置き、1848年に発刊されたエミリー・ブロンテ『嵐が丘』と1942年の第二次世界大戦下に発刊されたカミュの『異邦人』の作品に着目する。ヴィクトリア時代のリアリズムの全盛期において、エミリー・ブロンテは『嵐が丘』の作品を通じて何を伝えたかったのか、発刊した意義はどのようなことがあるのかを考察する。また、カミュの『異邦人』においては、20世紀の戦争と革命の激動の時代の中で、実存主義と表される世界における「不条理」に対して何を伝えたかったのか、どのような意義があったのかを考察する。
『嵐が丘』は愛情と復讐の中で、人間の卑劣な汚い部分も多く見られる小説であり、人々に受け入れ難い場面が多々ある。それぞれの登場人物からは人間のエゴが描かれており、復讐に執着する場面では震え上がる怖さがあり、想像を絶するような世代を超えた復讐劇が繰り広げられる部分が多く、解釈に戸惑うこともある。その一方で悲劇の恋愛とも読み取れる場面もある。さらに、人間の普遍的な部分と当時の時代背景を反映した部分が入り交じっていることも読み取れる。ヴィクトリア朝文学において、『嵐が丘』はリアリズムを象徴する意義があったと考える。カミュの『異邦人』が出版された1942年は第二次世界大戦下にあり、罪のない人々が殺され、何が善で何が悪かがわからなくなっている状況から、まさに「不条理」が避けられない世界であったことがわかる。国際社会において20世紀は二つの世界大戦が勃発し、常に苦悩や不安に晒されていた時代でもあったが、自分の死を直面せざるを得ない状況に置かれても、幸福を感じることができること、そして、人間はどんなに絶望に駆られていても、生きるという希望もあることをカミュは『異邦人』の物語を通して、人々に伝えたかったのではないかと考える。departmental bulletin pape

The Poetics of Silence in The Monkey Grammarian
Get PDFEn El mono gramático (1974) Octavio Paz intentó recrear por las palabras el camino de Galta que él mismo había recorrido en los años 60. Su propósito inicial fue escribir y trazar un texto que fuese efectivamente un camino y que pudiese ser leído y recorrido como tal. Sin embargo, la escritura poética desaparecía a medida que Paz procuraba escribir, y como consecuencia tenía que volver una y otra vez al punto del comienzo. La causa de estas dificultades se encuentra en la cognición de realidades que debe practicar un poeta: disolver los nombres de las cosas y ver el mundo tal cual es. Según lo que argumenta Paz, una realidad como tal esencialmente no tiene nombre, así que el poeta que pretende escribirla no tiene más remedio que callarse. A pesar de eso, Paz concibe el silencio no como la ausencia de los sentidos sino como un lugar donde nacen los sentidos. Este silencio abierto a los sentidos es el punto sustancial de la poética del silencio que se expresa en El mono gramático. El silencio es el límite de la escritura poética y su trascendencia a la vez y a través de este poema en verso se concreta la dualidad paradójica y particular del silencio.departmental bulletin pape
Classification of Adult People Who Stuttered Based on Brain Activities Measured Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy.
Get PDFObjective: It has been reported that people who stutter (PWS) have poor connection between the speech motor area (SMA) and auditory comprehensive area (ACA) in the left hemisphere of the brain. In this study, brain activities were analyzed in PWS. Participants: A total of 16 adults with PWS and 10 fluent adults participated in this study. Methods: Four audio speech files, each including Japanese speech sounds and white noise (WN), with 10 s WN interposed between 30 s passages of recorded speech were played for the participants, who were asked to listen to the clearly audible speech, first, via their right and subsequently through their left ears. The repetition test was conducted in the same manner as the listening test. Relative changes in oxyhemoglobin (oxy-Hb) were measured using functional near-infrared spectroscopy, and t-values were calculated from relative oxy-Hb changes in the speech task and in the prior WN period. Results: The control group showed significantly high t-values for bilateral SMA and ACA. According to t-values of the repetition test, PWS were divided into four groups. Group 1 showed significantly high t-values in bilateral SMA and ACA via both ears, although their t-values were lower than those in the control group. Group 2 showed significantly high t-values in bilateral SMA and ACA via the left ears. Group 3 showed significant t-values in bilateral SMA and ACA via the right ears, although their t-values were lower than those in group 1. Finally, Group 4 showed low t-values via both ears. Conclusions: Many PWS had impaired auditory speech pathway, and stuttering is a syndrome with complex mechanisms.departmental bulletin pape
