Poverty - Fatality or circumstance? The principle of “take-off” from poverty
Poverty is one of the most challenging issues to be addressed by contemporary society. Although it could be considered as a legacy of previous era and it was addressed by a wide range of experts, a meaningful solution is still to come. The paper looks to the content of the poverty concept, reviews the causes of it and how it is approached by various ideologies and formulates a principle – “take-off” – that could serve as guidance for reducing or removing it. This principle refers to perspective, motivation that transforms perspective into a tangible goal, and external support that could be engaged directly through investments, jobs or indirectly through education, health assistance, and social work.
Protection and security of data base information
Data bases are one of the most important components in every large informatics system which stores and processes data and information.Because data bases contain all of the valuable information about a company, its clients, its financial activity, they represent one of the key elements in the structure of an organization, which determines imperatives such as confidentiality, integrity and ease of data access. The current paper discuses the integrity of data bases and it refers to the validity and the coherence of stored data. Usually, integrity is defined in connection with terms of constraint, that are rules regarding coherence which the data base cannot infringe. Data base that integrity refers to information correctness and assumes to detect, correct and prevent errors that might have an effect on the data comprised by the data bases.
Romania’s trends in lohn system evolution
In the current economic conditions of the financial crisis, companies must identify and use all the opportunities that the market offers for reducing the financial flows influence on the performance of their current activities. One of these possibilities is lohn operation, which combines the import of raw materials and the export of finished products and manpower, ensuring the use of production capacities and the increase of labor employment. The paper addresses both theoretical aspects as well practical ones, analyzing the evolution and lohn’s impact on the Romanian market.
Green accounting – a new dimension in the performance and activity reporting of the enterprise
As the title suggests, the article aims to go beyond traditional accounting that we are used to, towards a new dimensions of it, known as green accounting. In this report we sought to emphasize the role, the importance of green accounting, which must be seen as a complement to traditional accounting. In the context of green accounting, we expanded the concept of performance beyond the financial dimension, towards the following dimensions: economic, social and environmental, which we have explained and argued. We presented various models of reporting, which can be used by companies to communicate information related to sustainability, which complement the information provided by traditional financial statements. We also made a presentation of the most important international and European bodies recognized for promoting the publication of information on sustainable development, in their conceptual frame development finding references influences of the accounting international and American. We reviewed a series of indicators of sustainable development. We have shown and argued that the same trend of promoting the publication of information on sustainable development can also be found at European level, and here we had in mind the Directive regarding the modernization of the European Accounting Directives, and also the current legislation no. 3055/2009 order OMFP part of the Romanian accounting reporting.
ROMANIA’S ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE CURRENT INTERNATIONAL CONTEXT
Present and future economic growth is increasingly dependent on trends in the global economy. They lead to an intertwining of the economic progress at a national-regional-global level. In particular to bearing economic integration, globalization, globalization of economic, political multipolarity, expanding economy on a continental and global level, etc. The effects of these changes can be both beneficial and negative, so we proposed a study on the evolution of parameters characterizing both economic growth and the evolution of this growth in Romania in the current international context
Particularities of dental medical services and consumers in the context of globalization
Globalization determines a growth of competition but as well a growth of the opportunity to attract new customers. The dental clinics will have to keep in mind the new characteristics and features of the modern consumer who is more educated, more informed, more active in searching for products and services, more communicative with the providers and the other consumers and more inclined to the cognitive side.At the same time, although they have to admit the traits of the new type of consumer – for whom there are no borders, the clinics must perform marketing researches and be permanently connected to each patient in order to be aware of the particularities of the local communities and even of the individual traits because the present consumer is more demanding and wants unique non-repetitive consumption experiences. For a dental clinic, the globalization supposes a global thinking and global action, not the homogenization of products and services they offer, as well as considering their hybridization, especially from the cultural point of view
Internal control, corruption and money laundering
The global financial crises created a different context for the economic growth and globalization. In the last few years, five risks have been designated as “risks to watch”, as survey respondents assessed them with high levels of variance and low levels of confidence while experts[1] consider they may have severe, unexpected or underappreciated consequences: cyber-security, demographic challenges, resource security, retrenchment from globalization, weapons of mass destruction. Strongly connected to these risks others are important to analyze: corruption, illegal trade and money laundering. There is a strong relation between corruption and money laundering. During the economic crunch the level of corruption and fraud had scientifically increased.Internal control could be a good instrument to reduce corruption and to stop the illegal trade and money laundering. Internal control is a dynamic integral process that is continuously adapting to the changes an organization is facing[1] www.weforum.org – The Global Risks Report 2010-2011
The economics of measuring quality of life by the standard gamble method
Of the countless methods for measuring the quality of life (QOL) that have been proposed and analyzed by the vast, multi-disciplinary literature over the past decades, only a select few are alluded to in Romanian scientific circles, and even fewer are actually implemented in practical applications. In adapting existing techniques and engineering a viable measurement system specific to Romania, there exists an important opportunity to re-evaluate the merits and shortcomings of established approaches. As a specific example, we consider the Standard Gamble (SG) method of eliciting “subjective utilities” related to particular health states. The re-evaluation is accomplished from three perspectives: theoretic consistency, interpretability and practicality. It is demonstrated that consistent with economic theory, the appropriate interpretation of SG derived measures is that of a Hicksian change in welfare valuation, rather than a cardinal measure of preferences. A practical consequence of the latter is that SG will necessarily produce a higher QOL value for individuals exhibiting more risk aversion. This leads us to contemplate that in fact SG may be a more appropriate methodology in other contexts, not necessarily health-related, where quality of life may indeed be correlated with the willingness to take risks.
Professional responsibilities of the economics teachers
The present paper’s aim is to present the professional responsibilities belonging to teachers of economics. Firstly, we mentioned the mixed investigations addressed to the teachers activities: pedagogical, psychological, social and axiological.Secondly we define the expectancies concerning the teachers’ knowledge, abilities and attitudes in the present day’s environment learning. In order to establish these issues, we identified the needs of the education system. Here we present the actual points of view, advised pedagogical opinions, stages of the research in this field.Within the last part of the paper, we established the responsibilities for the teachers; expectancies under the form of enunciations for the following five activity domains: instruction, evaluation, learning environment, human relations and professional engagement, at the same time taking into account the three dimensions: knowledge, abilities and attitudes
Difficulties in the collection of data and information in Romania
The purpose of this paper is to highlight the difficulties encountered by any person or company when searching for valuable information on the official sites of the ministries or state institutions, using the available search keys. At the same time, the paper states the necessity to design a new, comprehensive database, with another two keys (one primary and one secondary), in order to better assist the search effort. The data and information contained in this database should be accurate, supplied in a timely manner and against small or no fees. At the same time, the level of the information supplied as result of the search should strictly observe the present regulation regarding the privacy of data and information in the European Union.
