This study sets out to explore how do online EFL (English as a Foreign Language) instructors perceive their roles and competencies. With this aim, qualitative data were gathered through semi-structured interviews from eight online instructors who teach Basic English Course at a state university in Turkey.  Data were analyzed through content analysis with the help of Nvivo software. As a result of the study, five roles and 28 competencies were articulated by the EFL instructors as crucial. Nevertheless, instructors asserted that they cannot perform most of these roles and competencies in their online classes because of the challenges such as poorness of the online platform, interaction problems, lack of student participation, inadequacy of online material support, poorness of technical and technological infrastructure, overcrowded classes, insufficiency of in-service teacher training, and lack of knowledge on online material development, ICT (Information and Communications Technology) skills, integrating technology into teaching, and copyright issues. For a more effective online teaching environment, instructors emphasized the need for a sound technical infrastructure, electronic course content support along with hands-on and continuous professional development training. This study uncovers important implications of the instructional, quality-related and managerial dimensions of online education to be taken into consideration by higher education to create a successful online language teaching and learning environment.   Keywords: online teacher roles and competencies, online teacher qualifications, online English teaching, online English learnin

In language teaching, in addition to the curriculum, the use of equipment, the attitudes and views of the instructor/educators and students about one another have a significance of its own. In an attempt to identify and examine the students' views on Turkish instructors in the process of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, this study aimed to reveal the relationship between the views of foreign students learning Turkish in Turkey on their instructors, in terms of gender, age and education level by using the relational scanning design. The data were collected from a total of 415 students who came to the Turkish Teaching Implementation and Research Center (ULUTÖMER) of Bursa Uludağ University in order to learn Turkish in the spring semester of 2020-2021. A triple point questionnaire consisting of 39 items was utilized to identify the views of foreign students towards their instructors. The questionnaire consisted of items related to the interaction of the students with their instructors, the cultural sensitivity of the instructors, the classroom management aa well as the teaching skills of the instructors. Before the questionnaire items were applied, they were presented to the expert opinion and the questionnaire items were finalized in accordance with the feedback of the experts. Participants were informed about the study and the link of the            questionnaire form was shared with them. For the analysis of the data, a descriptive analysis was performed for the variables of age, gender and education level. The frequencies and percentages of the answers given by the participants to the questions were established and the χ2 (chi-square) test was carried out to identify whether there was a significant relationship between the responses of the participants in terms of gender, age and education level. Cramer's V coefficient was utilized to calculate the strength of the relationship between the variables in the chi-square test used. In the statistical analyzes used in the study, the level of significance was accepted as 0.05

Sports management has been regarded as a key element in the planning process of education of sports and sports organizations, which have particularly evolved on a macro scale with the developing technology and economic growth. Macro development has also been prevalent in incremental scientific studies on sports education and management areas. In the present study, which employs qualitative research design, 1792 documents embracing more than 40 years on sports management in the databases such as Scopus and Web of Science, were analyzed using the bibliometric analysis technique. The findings, while urging upon the inclusive nature of the research, are a prepotent agent in designating the (a) countries, (b) journals, (c) authors, (d) universities and (e) impact factors studying on sports management. The results have revealed that it is in the first three places in the citation and journal ranking of the "Sport Management Review, European Sport Management Quarterly and Journal of Sport Management" journals, where the studies on sports management are at the highest level in 2021 are evaluated. It is clear that the rate of scientific production and citation numbers of America, Australia and United Kingdom is in parallel with the first three journals. While it is obvious that the most cited work belongs to "Funk and James (2001)" in the "Sport Management Review" journal, it proves that the journal order, citation rates, author order and scientific production are parallel for all variables.

INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN AUTISM SYMPTOMS IN CHILDREN WITH ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER AND BROAD AUTISM PHENOTYPE AND ALEXITHYMIC CHARACTERISTICS IN THEIR PARENTS

The study aims to examine autism-like symptoms in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, as well as to evaluate the broad autism phenotype characteristics and alexithymia levels of their parents and to compare these results with the results of control groups and their parents. Several hypotheses were put forward: (1) children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder will exhibit higher levels of autism characteristics compared to children in the typically developing group, (2) parents of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder will have higher levels of the broad autism phenotype characteristics compared to typically developing group parents, (3) they will have higher levels of alexithymia, (4) positive correlations will be observed between children's autistic characteristics and parents' the broad autism phenotype characteristics and alexithymia levels. The research findings underline that autistic traits are increased in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, highlighting a notable intersection between these two neurodevelopmental conditions. Moreover, the study elucidates broad autism phenotype in parents of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, implying a potential shared genetic susceptibility or familial vulnerability between the disorders. The emergence of high alexithymic levels in parents of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder-affected children raises interesting questions regarding emotional processing and regulation in familial contexts. Study findings were discussed and suggestions for future research were provided

This research aims to provide information about the flipped classroom model, that is brought to the literature in terms of distance education and innovative approaches and which has taken place in learning and teaching environments and around the world during the COVID 19 Pandemic process. In addition, the aim is to guide researchers and educators by revealing the negative and positive of this model with the relevant studies in the literature. In the current study, scientific studies about flipped classroom were examined by scanning the literature. The literatur review is carried out in traditional kind of this method, by compiling the literature. The use of innovative approaches in the globalizing world is important for all countries to follow each other and progress at the same level. With the development of technology and its transfer to educational environments, the flipped classroom, that is a most up-to-date approach examples in today's world, the theoretical part, that is, according to Bloom's Taxonomy, which should be taught in the lesson, is transformed into an individual acquisition out of the classroom for the learner, and active in the time he spends with his friends and teacher in the classroom. Through this way, learning activities and high-level learning can be carried out. Thus, the content of the lecture before and during the class time can be differentiated and varied by the educator. These facts can contribute to the differentiating the education process according to the learners individual differences. In this context, in this study, more comprehensive general information about the flipped classroom was brought out, the weak and strong sides of this model were emphasized, the ways of enriching and differentiating the curriculum with such models were emphasized, and suggestions were made to researchers and educators.   Key Words: Flipped Classroom, Curriculum, Education, Learning Mode
