We used the Integrative Self-Knowledge Scale and the Toronto Mindfulness Scale for data collection. Results showed positive and significant correlations between the self-knowledge of the counselor candidates and their mindfulness. Another finding revealed that the curiosity sub-dimension of mindfulness was a significant predictor of the self-knowledge of counselor candidates. Findings revealed that mindfulness and self-knowledge differed statistically significantly regarding gender and grade level. These results underline that mindfulness, which is influential in developing dimensions such as therapeutic communication and social skills, should be included in counselor training

This study aims to evaluate the compatibility of engineering design activities in 5-8 grade science coursebooks with the curriculum and to examine their reflection of design principles. The document analysis method was used in the study. Initially, the 5-8 grade science coursebooks recommended by the Ministry of National Education in 2021-2022 were determined. Then, the engineering design activities in these books and the learning outcomes related to engineering and design skills in the 2018 Science Curriculum were determined. As a data collection tool, an engineering design activity evaluation rubric based on engineering design principles was prepared by reviewing the relevant literature. Based on the prepared rubric, the activities in the science coursebooks recommended by the MoNE in 2020-2021 were examined. At the end of the examination, some learning outcomes had more than one engineering design activity, some learning outcomes did not have design activities, and some learning outcomes had design activities in subjects excluding the learning outcomes. Depending on this, the percentages of the coursebooks reflecting engineering design were determined. It was observed that the percentage of the coursebook with more STEM activities reflecting engineering design principles was low

A GRAPHICAL EXPRESSION SUPPORTING LISTENING AND MUSICAL PERCEPTION: MUSICOGRAM TECHNIQUE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD

Various techniques are employed to enhance music listening and perception skills in early childhood. One of these techniques is the musicogram method, proposed by Wuytack in the early 1970s following research into active music listening. This study aims to examine musicogram videos targeting early childhood shared on a social media platform, YouTube. The study employed a qualitative research method, and data was collected through document analysis. For data collection, videos were accessed on the video-sharing platform YouTube using keywords “müzikogram,” “müzogram,” “musicogram,” “musicograma.” Within the filtering criteria, musicograms in Turkish and different languages were included in the study based on their highest view counts across all time periods and sorted by ranking. As a result of the study, it was observed that classical Western music was predominantly used in musicograms prepared in different languages, whereas digital music and familiar children’s songs were preferred in Turkish musicograms. It was also found that the symbolic representation used in musicograms did not correspond to the melodic rhythmic patterns of the compositions. The use of musicograms for early childhood has gained significant popularity on social media; however, there is a need to enhance the content to be more comprehensive, including theoretical and practical information

The news that physicians tend to work abroad in recent years in Turkey, the frequent occurrence of violence in healthcare, the dissatisfaction of physicians and the news of resignation have prompted the Ministry of Health and led to some regulations known as 'White Reform' in the society. We aimed to investigate the impact of these reforms on the career plans of final-year medical students, medical residents, and doctors who have graduated in the last 5 years. A descriptive study was planned, and a survey form created by researchers was used to reach the target audience. Data from 561 doctors and medical students were evaluated. The majority of doctors viewed the reforms positively, but it was determined that they were not implemented at the desired level in terms of application and adequacy. The impact of the reforms on career plans was seen primarily among intern doctors. The most common goal in terms of career plans was to work as a specialist physician

The purpose of this study is to compare the academic procrastination patterns of gifted students (GS) and typically developing students (TDS) in light of their temperamental characteristics. It is well established that academic procrastinating behavior has a wide range of repercussions on students' lives, school life, family relationships, and job choices. In addition to identifying potential variables that might be employed in causal analysis and intervention, it is critical to address and explain the factors that impede personal growth and performance. Academic procrastination is a widespread issue, psychosocial therapies to address it will not only promote students' academic growth but also improve the effectiveness of students, families, and educational professionals. In order to accomplish the aforementioned goals, a study involving 540 GS and 540 TDS from the senior year of high was carried out. According to their desire to participate and their placement in the pertinent cluster, which was established by using the Persona 360 School program in objective psychological tests, participating students were added to the study. The Functional Procrastination Scale, the Aitken Academic Procrastination Scale, and Temperament-Enneagram 9-Factor Personality Test were used to gather the data. Using the IBM SPSS 22.0 software suite, factor analysis and discriminant analysis were used in the analyses. The results showed that GS and TDS had different inclinations in terms of academic procrastination practices. Furthermore, it was discovered that, depending on their psycho-social traits and behavioral orientations, students' temperament and personality types affected the clustering pattern of procrastinating behavior.  &nbsp
