Study of Ignatius of Anthioch’s Letter to the Epphesian in Ecumenical Church Today
Abstract: GerejaChurch life is bound up in a sense of togetherness. All members of the Church are bound together in one family in the faith. This research focuses on examining the idea ofCoinonia (communion) initiated by Ignasius of Antioch. The primary source is taken from Ignatius of Antioch's letter to the church at Ephesus. Ignatius of Antioch's letter to the church at Ephesus is an entry point to understanding how the church at that time fellowshipped and united. It turns out that the challenge of unity has existed since ancient times, and continues to this day in different forms. This research uses text analysis methods. Excavating documents and writings from Ignasus Anthiokia as one of the Church Fathers needs to be explored to capture how post-apostolic post-apostolic post-apostolic ideology was understood and practiced. This article seeks to contribute to the exploration of the theme of koinonia initiated by the Church Fathers, and to draw out its relevance for the appreciation of communion today. The conclusion that can be drawn is how important it is to maintain a sense of unity in faith as a form of koinonia amidst today's current of individualism, while remaining open to a variety of thoughts. Keywords: Coinonia (togetherness), Ignatius of Antioch, Ephesus. Mindfulness from a Christian Perspective
Abstract: Mindfulness has long been popular among psychologists and medical workers as the best answer to help people focus so they can avoid or prevent stress. Some Christians also practice mindfulness and make it part of their worship rituals. However, because it is considered identical to Buddhism and East religions, some believers refuse to practice this for fear of syncretism. Thus, this article explores to what extent believers could accept and practice mindfulness. This study used a qualitative method with a library approach. The writer collects data from various literature related to discussing and analyzing the topic. From the study, the writer concludes that although worldly mindfulness offers more positive aspects than negative ones, believers should avoid it and practice biblical mindfulness instead. The true Christian mindfulness centers on God and involves His words. Keywords: mindfulness, meditation, stress, happines

John Calvin's Perspective on Church Unity and Its Implementation in Church Denominations in Ciranjang Sub-district
John Calvin viewed the unity of the church not based on church doctrine and background, but rather as one church, one faith, one God, a confession of the Apostles' faith and hope and love. The unity between churches is evident in agreements in the field of faith and Church order and in actions to unite and reconcile people in seeking solutions to social problems. The church must be united in this effort so that the Christian witness is truly authoritative. However, the development of a world that is so complex that it has resulted in the emergence of many church sects, differences in theological views, differences in understanding of the contents of the Bible, and the emergence of church egoism have become problems for uniting churches. This also happens in churches in Ciranjang, such as social friction, social jealousy, claims about the truth of the Bible, vilifying each other, considering their doctrine to be the most correct, inviting congregations to change sects, and so on. These incidents made the church seem closed and unwilling to mingle with other churches so ecumenical church programs to strengthen church unity were difficult to implement. The method used in this research is qualitative. The research results show that Calvin's concept is implemented in churches through the resilience of church leaders, congregational renewal, and restoration of relationships between churches. Unifying differences in the ecumenical movement is the key to achieving perfection in Christ the Head of the Church
Exploring the Intersection of Christian Theology and Ikigai: Implications for Vocational Ministry and Faith Formation
Integrating the concept of Ikigai from the Japanese tradition with Christian theology in the context of vocational ministry and faith formation emphasizes the balance between passion, profession, mission, and vocation. Ikigai strengthens the internalization of Christian values in everyday life, especially in work and ministry. In the era of globalization and secularization, the fragmentation of values is a challenge that makes it difficult for many Christians to align their spiritual calling with the demands of modern and professional life. Ikigai offers a holistic approach that unites spiritual and worldly aspects, giving new meaning to work to fulfill the divine calling. By applying Ikigai in Christian religious education, individuals can find a balance between work, faith, and service to others. This helps people live a more meaningful life calling and strengthens their commitment to the faith and mission that God has set so that professional and spiritual lives support each other
Do Justice, Love Kindness, and Walk Humbly with God as A Form of True Worship: A Reading of Micah 6:8
Abstract: Abstract: This paper examines the meaning of true worship according to Micah 6:8. A socio-historical analysis and linguistic criticism of Micah 6:8 highlights the three important elements needed to gain access to God namely “to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with God.†Hence, Micah 6:8 functions a warning that our religious ritual life must go hand in hand with our ethical responsibilities. The church as a community needs to be grounded in this theological foundation and embrace the understanding that true worship is not only celebrated through our vertical relationship with God, but also manifested through horizontal relationships with others. We can do this by reaching out to those who are economically, socially, culturally, and politically vulnerable; and live in harmony and peace within the community and with all of creation Keywords: justice, love kindness, ritual, solidarity, worshi
Johann Baptist Metz's Approach to the Church Secularity: A Theology of Connection
Abstract: This research examines the changing landscape of Christian life. Today, Christians are at a crossroads where one path offers comfort, a world sheltered from the tumultuous secular world's complexities. The other path invites Christians to engage in the secular world, transcend selfishness, and face its challenges in the public arena. This research aims to strengthen the Church's understanding of divine calling and purpose in secular society. This research uses a qualitative descriptive methodology investigation to explore the theological work of Johann Baptist Metz. This research starts from Metz's existential thought, which views the present as the Church's eschatological time. This study explores Metz's concept of Christian time, its profound implications for eschatological ideas, and reveals its relevance in the modern context. Thematic analysis, the foundation of qualitative research, distills and presents research findings. Research findings show that Metz views the importance of the human-God relationship as the basis for the existence of the Church. The Church is an interconnected entity. This relational dimension becomes the identity of the Church. Just as the Incarnation of Christ marked the entry of the Divine into human history to establish a deep relationship, the Church stands as the eternal embodiment of Christ's presence in the world. It serves as a channel for the ongoing encounter between God and humanity, placing itself at the intersection of the sacred and the secular. The Church's Christian eschatological experience finds expression in grassroots mission work, where compassion for the poor and marginalized is paramount. The Church's willingness to adapt and develop its theological perspective reflects its unwavering commitment to facing the challenges of the contemporary world, thereby becoming a beacon of empowerment and life transformation
