The analysis on work motivation at restaurant as culinary destination in kerawang city west java on covid-19 pandemic
COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected for tourism and hospitality businesses globally which caused the transformative on that business particularly the management business, in turn, was the Human Resources Management. The phenomenon was interesting to be studied for providing essential concept of human resources management. The purpose of this study was to analyze the employee motivation and its impact on work performance during the pandemic at Bakmi Kota Lama 1819 KIIC Restaurant in Karawang City of West Java Province. This qualitative study was collecting the data by implementing the techniques approach of participative observation by visiting the restaurant as a visitor. The informants were the owner, chef, cook helper, drink section personnel, and waiter or waitress. The results indicated that the management struggled to provide of the regional standard of minimum wages for the employees. The employees still maintained good motivation to show the productive performance in terms of pandemic survival. The management also has determined to reduce the number of employees by rescheduling the employees to work three times a week. This caused a little complaint from the employees since there was extra workload due to double job
Sustainability strategy in malang regency :analitycal hierarchy process approach
The development of tourism has led to the emergence of various types of attractions; one of them is a tourist village which is expected to improve the welfare of the local community. Malang Regency has several tourist villages with various potentials. Pujon Kidul, Sanankerto, and Gubugklakah are villages that carry the concept of sustainable tourism. The purpose of this research is to improve its economic sustainability status. The method used is the AHP test. The results showed that the best strategy for Pujon Kidul village was to develop a strawberry picking tourist attraction, while for Sanankerto it was the addition of new tour packages related to water tourism and for Gubugklakah village was the development of Mount Bromo tour packages
Strategies applied by accommodation service business in west sumatera to overcome the crisis of covid-19 pandemic
This research aims to formulate strategies applied by accommodation service providers in West Sumatra in coping with the Covid-19 pandemic. The limitation in the mobilization or traveling that was imposed to break the chain of Covid-19 infection had brought the accommodation services on its knees in all regions including West Sumatra. Strategies formulated by means of SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) analysis; by minimizing the weaknesses and threat, and boosting existing strength and opportunities. The gathering of research data was conducted through interviews with several stakeholders in the acommodation services business by applying purposive sampling method. The gathered data was then descriptively analysed by considering the strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat owned by the accommodation services in West Sumatra in order to formulate strategies in coping with the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the research indicated that several strategies were applicable for implementation by the accommodation services in West Sumatra, i.e. the short, medium, and long-term strategies for the sustainability of the business.
Mas-mas village tour guides: perception on the profession, roles and learning needs
Research on tourism suggests that tourist guides are key representatives in the tourism industry in that they have contributed significantly to the satisfaction of visitors and are believed to determine whether or not the tourist will revisit destinations. The present study sought to investigate the perception of local tour guides Mas Mas village pertaining to their future carrier as tour guides and the roles they played in the profession. It also assessed the perceived learning needs as tour guides. There were five local tour guides and two potential employers taking part in this study. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussion and semi-structured interviews and were analyzed by employing the five-phased cycle of qualitative data analysis. The findings of this study suggested that being a professional tour guide is a promising career and a prestigious career despite encountering negative perception from the local community. Cleanliness and sanitation are the most important things that must be considered to ensure that the products served to customers are safe and free from various viruses and bacteria. These issues, Hygiene Sanitation and promotion must be considered by food and beverage entrepreneurs to increase the interest of buyers. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not Hygiene Sanitation and Promotion influenced the purchase decisions at Favela Sunset Cafe Paledang, Bogor. The research method used is quantitative research. The data analysis used in this study consisted of multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS V 20.0. The result of the study concluded that the Effect of Hygiene Sanitation and Promotion on Purchase Decisions at Favela Sunset Cafe Paledang Bogor had a positive and significant influence.
Exploring travel for work-life balance: a study on solo woman travellers in bali
With the importance of balance in life, the phenomenon of work-life balance is very engaging to be associated with travelling activities, especially solo travel, which became popular during the COVID-19 pandemic as a new trend that emerged. This research aims to analyse the phenomenon of travelling for work-life balance, whether it can be a trend or lifestyle, using an exploratory study approach that focuses on solo women travellers in Bali, especially those from Denpasar City and Badung Regency. Qualitative descriptive methods were used in this study, with data collection techniques through literature studies, observations, and comprehensive interviews of 13 informants consisting of 10 primary informants, 2 key informants, and 1 supporting informant. The selection of informants is carried out using purposive sampling techniques with the Pentahelix approach. With the selection of the primary informant criteria, namely, solo woman travellers in Bali aged 18-26 years, and the criteria of key informants and supporters are academics that have insights into the field of travel, especially in women travellers. The results showed that travelling activities have a strong and significant influence in building new behaviour patterns towards women travellers in Bali in doing solo travelling activities to achieve work-life balance. The need for healing activities for their lives and performance become a motivation and desire that every solo woman traveller in Bali wants to realise. Travelling for work-life balance plays a vital role in achieving productivity and can be a workable lifestyle
Social Media Promotion Strategy Approach (Case Study of Ubud Monkey Forest Tourist Attraction’s Instagram Account)
This study aims to determine the promotional strategies undertaken by Monkey Forest in promoting its tourist attraction. Monkey forest is one of the tourist attractions in Bali which is located in Gianyar regency. In its development, a promotional strategy must always be considered in promoting a destination. The promotion strategy referred to in this study is a promotion strategy through Instagram account. Nowadays Instagram is one of the social media that is very widely used. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection methods were obtained from direct observation, interviews with the monkey forest and observation of promotional strategies on social media Instagram @monkeyforestsanctuaryubud. Interviews were conducted with one of the monkey forest managers named Mr. Dwija. Then the data is processed and described descriptively through writing and pictures. Taro Tourism Village Development Strategy as an Eco-Spiritual Destination, in Gianyar Regency- Bali
Taro Village is one of the villages located in Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. This village has various kinds of potential, especially natural potential that can be used as a tourist destination. In addition, the surrounding environment is quite calm making this village as one of the tourist destinations based on ecological, community custom and cultural values so it can make Taro Village has the potential to be developed into an eco-spiritual destination. The research aims to identify the potentials and weaknesses that exist in Taro Village, as well as the opportunities and external obstacles faced by Taro Village. The method used in this research is qualitative approach by using a SWOT analysis. The results show that Taro Village can be developed into an eco-spiritual tourist by maximizing the strategy according to its potential and minimizing the weaknesses in Taro Village
Local people’s attitude and perception towards eco tourism development: empirical evidence from india
Ecotourism perceived as a tool for conservation and sustainability across the globe. Ecotourism has become the buzzword and need of this hour focusing community development and conservation. The present study was conducted in five tourism sites in India (western Odisha) to identify the problems and prospects and also to investigate the attitude and perceptions of local people towards eco-tourism development. The study was undertaken through a sociological survey research design having 570 numbers of local people residing within the piloted study area. The research study was dependent on both primary and secondary data from which analysis was done to reach the conclusion. Structured questionnaire and focus group discussion was applied for one to one interview with village people. Quantitative data from the questionnaire was used in the SPPS package for analysis
Development of living museum and storynomic tourism based on tri hita karana in kaba-kaba village, tabanan bali
Tourism is currently the sector most affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. However, the momentum of this pandemic is considered a transition period to reorganize Indonesia's tourism. One of them is the development of the tourism sector in the development of tourist villages. The tourism interest that occurred made the author of this study conceptualizes the development of special interest tourism with the concept of living museum and storynomic tourism located in Kaba-Kaba Village, Tabanan, Bali based on Tri Hita Karana. The concept was chosen because Kaba-Kaba Village has a cultural heritage in the form of Puri in which there is an ancient site. This research uses qualitative methods with a data approach through observation in the form of interviews and literature studies. The results showed that the concept of living museum and storynomic tourism is very appropriate for the development of Kaba-Kaba tourist village because tourist products in the form of relics of historical heritage sites become a capital of interest for the development of special interest tourism. With the development of Living Meseum and Storynomic Tourism where Tri Hita Karana as the foundation of cultural tourism can directly fall into the hands of the community where this makes the tourist village that is directly managed by local champions in Kaba-Kaba Village
