The Correlation of Event Tourism towards Travel Motivation and Its Impact on Destination Image of Bali
The implementation of Event Tourism is one form of promotion of a destination that combines a variety of products and displayed in the form of festivals, special events, Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition Tourism (MICE Tourism) with the aim of providing a personal experience at a destination. Bali that had degraded its destinations image after terrorist attacks in 2002 and 2005 has made various efforts to restore the image by organizing tourism events. Tourism Image Destinations is an essential component in selecting decision by tourists about travel destinations. This research was focusing on the study of the relationship of organizing event tourism in Bali toward tourist motivation. The study was done to 50 respondents during the silent day in Bali in 2016. By using association correlation test or Chi-Square (X2), which was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23 showed that there was a positive correlation of the implementation of tourism event toward travel motivation and its impact in establishing the destination image of Bali Island itself. Pearson Chi-Square line showed the price of p-value was 0.000 < 0.05 or Ho was rejected. So that through this study, Bali local government must continue to improve creativity in encouraging the growth of Event Tourism for the realization of destination image which safe, peaceful, and superior because of its cultural attractions, natural or man-made art. The local government is also expected to pay particular attention to the potential of this special interest market.
THE PORTRAIT OF RURAL TOURISM MODEL IN THE BAHA TOURISM VILLAGE OF BADUNG DISTRICT
Baha Village designated as tourism village since 1994. However, until now relatively undeveloped as expected. The purpose of this research to determine of tourism existing and the portrait of rural tourism model that took place in Baha Tourism Village. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The informant determined by purposive and utilize qualitative and quantitative data where its sourced from primary data also secondary data. Datas obtained by observation, interviews, and documentation. The research of result was found tourism existing ini Baha Tourism Village in the form of a panoramic expanse of rice fields and visiting to a Balinese traditional house, supported with the adequate accessibility and facilities such as public toilets, wantilan, clean water, electricity and communication networks. Institutional is not yet operational. Baha Tourism Village life cycle stage with the involvement of public attitudes tend to be quiet(Withdrawal). Referring to the existing portrait of rural tourism model at the Baha Tourism Village is a rural tourism model of halffull-passive interaction who initiated by the government and its managed by the individual societies. It can be concluded, Baha Tourism Village has not been categorized as a ideal tourism village
CULINARY TOURISM DEVELOPMENT MODEL IN METRO LAMPUNG CITY
The purpose of this research is to explore tourism potential in Metro Lampung. The tourism attraction that is potential in Lampung is its local culinary. Culinary tourism is popular nowadays, given the fact that tourists hunt for local food when they are visiting tourist destination. The purpose of this research firstly is to explore the potential of tourism culinary in Metro Lampung City. Secondly is to find the marketing strategy of tourism culinary in Metro Lampung city. Thirdly is to find out the factors needed in promoting local food as tourism attraction in Metro Lampung City.The data is collected from observation, interview, document study, and questionnaires. This research employs descriptive qualitative approach. The is data gathered and analyzed using SWOT analysis. The output of this research is a model design of culinary tourism development. A recommended of tourism development model is community based tourism. Community based tourism model is tourism which concerns on local community with their local wisdom
TRADITIONAL BALINESE MASSAGE AS SPA BRAND IN SANUR BEACH AREA
As a part of tourism Industry, Bali has become famous for its best SPA destination in the world. One of its best SPA treatments is the traditional Balinese Massage. Many SPA lovers are fond of the massage since it offers many great things and uniqueness. People can easily spot the treatment as main attraction in both small scale business and also in five stars hotels. Balinese massage itself is a SPA treatment that comes from many combinations as Hindu, Buddhism, and also Chinese culture since ages. Since many SPA industries are selling Balinese massage as its main course and many people are also like to have the treatment, it is deemed necessary to find out the traditional Balinese massage as a SPA brand especially in Sanur beach area. The research is design qualitatively where it is using instruments like observation sheets, questionnaires, and interview to gain research data towards SPA industries, clients, and therapists in Sanur beach area. The data gained shows that traditional Balinese massage has excellent; 1) Brand Favorability of Association, where the treatment can meet the clients’ need and satisfaction, 2) Strength of Brand Association, where the treatment has formed strong associations in the mind of consumers as a result of actively and continuously thinking about certain information on the treatment, 3) Uniqueness of Brand Association, where the treatment have a unique or special characteristic that is hard to duplicate by other products, like the use of oil and aroma therapy, so that imprint in the minds of customers, 4) Loyalty, where the customers are always enjoying the treatment and keep asking for it regularly. It is hoped that the government can see the result this research and keep promoting Balinese massage in the world to attract more visitors to come to Bali, especially Sanur area
IDENTIFICATION OF SYNTHETIC COLORS IN TRADITIONAL SNACKS AT GIANYAR SENGGOL MARKET
The aim of this experiment is to identify synthetic colors in traditional snacks at Gianyar Senggol Market. As many as 12 samples brightly colored snacks (red, pink, green, yellow) have been analyzed. The method used is chemical analysis. The result is 100% of the samples examined do not contain synthetic colors, so it is safe for the public and tourists. It can provide additional value and media promotion to the public and tourists, that traditional snacks sold in the Gianyar Senggol Market not only tasty and having attractive appearance, but it also safe for health
POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL TOURISM IN PENATIH VILLAGE
The development of tourism in Bali has a real effect on economy in Bali. Development and promotion of tourism that has been done should be capable to be sustained and maintained in the future. Tourism sustainability discourse must involve the commitment from all parties to maintain the sustainability of the natural, social, economic and cultural community as the basic capital of tourism. Tourism Department of Denpasar city is trying to develop the alternative tourism for reducing the negative effects of mass tourism and empowering rural communities through the development of rural tourism. One of the villages targeted is Penatih village which is a village that has the potential resources to be developed into a rural tourism with traditional culture (art), social order, Subak and other.The approach used in this research was qualitative descriptive. The data were collected through interview, observation, documentation and conduct Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Then the data were analyzed by using SWOT analysis. BUILDING PARTNERSHIP ACROSS RURAL TOURISM DESTINATION FOR SUSTAINABILITY: A CASE STUDY IN SPECIAL REGION OF YOGYAKARTA, SOME CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES
Tourism destination in rural areas often face difficulties to sustain its competitiveness dimension. Economic-geography approach extent the discussion of tourism development that integrate spatial and economic as a result of evolutionary pattern on tourism activities in rural areas. However, within proliferation background of rural tourism destinations such as Special Region of Yogyakarta, 112 rural tourism destinations in a region, are considered as highly competitive and threaten of the future rural tourism destinations sustainability. Therefore, moving beyond focus within a single destination is necessary in order to gain new perspective and reconstruct the regional policy development. This paper tries to reveal some challenges and opportunities in building partnerships across rural tourism destinations. Data in this paper is complemented by graduate thesis research and regional survey of rural tourism social mapping in Special Region of Yogyakarta that authors involved in. Research findings indicated that variables such as homogeneity of attractions, similarity of market sharing, and organizational capacity building are among major needed to address. VISITOR BEHAVIOR AT THEME PARKS AS AN URBAN TOURISM IN THE CITY OF BANDUNG, INDONESIA
The presence of a variety of theme parks in Bandung, Indonesia is intended as an urban tourism and public green spaces whereby the townspeople can make interactions. In reality, there are many visitors who still not realize the purpose and function of the theme parks. Some of the newly constructed parks are damaged by visitor behavior. This condition makes the theme park less comfortable. This study was aimed to identify and analyze of visitor behavior at the Bandung theme parks as urban tourism.This study used quantitative descriptive analysis technique by tabulating the frequency responses of respondents. Visitor behavior was analyzed using two (2) sub variables, including personal and interpersonal factors. Personal factors consist of six indicators, i.e. (1) need, want and motivation; (2) perception; (3) learning; (4) personality; (5) lifestyle; and (6) self-concept. Meanwhile, interpersonal factors consist of five indicators, i.e. (1) culture; (2) reference group; (3) social class; (4) opinion leader; and (5) family. The analysis results show that the visitor behavior at theme parks as urban tourism, analyzed by personal and interpersonal factors, is in sufficient condition (not yet positive). On the personal factors, the highest indicator is need, want and motivation and the lowest indicator is personality. On interpersonal factors, the highest indicator is opinion leader. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance socialization in order to increase the knowledge of visitors pertaining to the function of theme parks and to amke proper regulations regarding superintendence of theme parks
CHARACTERISTICS OF FARMING AND TREKKING TOUR PACKAGES IN NORTH BALI
Buleleng regency in North Bali is one of the districts that tourism in the area has not developed optimally. Topography of southern part in Buleleng regency in the form of plateau has the potential to develop rural tourism. Munduk village in Banjar subdistrict is one of the village that have potential to be developed as rural tourism because it is located away from the bustle of the city and the societal conditions tends to traditional. Munduk village started to move forward to welcome the arrival of tourism. This study uses the concept of the cycle of attraction and stage the level of relationship between tourists and local people or local society. Bali Lofty Tours and Travel is a company which concerned about the education of tourism in Bali, as evidenced by the provision of education programs or education tour. Trekking activities'in Munduk village involve the local people who tend to remain in the stage of euphoria. People welcome the presence of tourists. In addition, Munduk village has arrived in stages between involvement and development. The purpose of this study was to provide knowledge and a general description of trekking in the Munduk village and its relation to rural tourism. Data were collected using observational and in-depth interviews methods, also by using sampling purposes method, the data analytic method using qualitative descriptive.By writing this paper expected that the promotion is not only done at schools outside of Bali, but also schools in Bali and by increasing activity in farming package in Munduk village and the government should assist in the promotion, improve road access and also supply parking area in Munduk village.
