    Get PDF
One of Nigeria's biggest challenges is achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which calls for providing inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all even with onboarding of Artificial Intelligence. This study investigates how psychological factors influence student success in biology, an important scientific field. The study considered three research questions using non experimental research design of correlational approach, conducted with 400 senior secondary school students from Oyo State, Nigeria. Four instrument used are: Biology Interest Scale (BIS) with α=0.91, Anxiety Traits Inventory (ATI) α=0.74, Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) α=0.87 and Biology Achievement Test (BAT) with 0.80. Result revealed a high link between biology achievement and motivation (r = .187, p < .01), interest (r = .253, p < .01), and anxiety (r = - 0.272, p < .01). Moreover, there was significant effect (F(3, 396) = 16.748, p < 0.001) between variables. Students that were enthusiastic performed better, (β= 0.058, F(3, 396)=.556), indicates no statistically significant effects despite the positive relationship between achievement scores and motivation. In order to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), which calls for inclusive and equitable quality education, affective elements that affect the participation of learners in biology, such as anxiety and interest, must be addressed. Supportive learning environments that prioritize understanding, curiosity, and personal development should be created by educators and policymakers. Integrating real-world biological applications into the curriculum can further enhance the subject’s relevance to everyday life and future careers, thereby sustaining students’ motivation and interest in biology

The background of this article highlights the escalating global cybersecurity threats in the digital era and underscores the urgent need to strengthen law enforcement through public–private partnerships (PPPs), as traditional legal frameworks struggle to address the complex and transnational nature of cybercrime effectively. This study examines the role of PPPs in enhancing cyber law enforcement across various legal systems. Using a systematic literature review methodology, the research evaluates the effectiveness of collaborative initiatives between the public and private sectors in combating cyber threats. The findings reveal that PPPs have significant potential to strengthen law enforcement efforts through technological innovation, information sharing, and operational cooperation. However, persistent challenges—such as limited transparency, trust deficits, and conflicting institutional interests—remain substantial barriers to their success. The study recommends that policymakers enhance legal frameworks, promote transparency, and develop capacity-building initiatives through joint training programs. Moreover, the research identifies critical gaps in the existing literature, emphasizing the need for more comprehensive empirical studies to better understand and address the complexities of cyber law enforcement through PPPs in the digital age. Get PDF
This study aimed to create gamified learning media based on the RADEC model, using Genially to boost fifth-grade students' reading comprehension of narrative texts. Following a Research and Development (R&D) approach within the ADDIE framework, the research adhered to a structured process: analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The analysis phase unveiled key challenges, such as students' difficulties in identifying main ideas and their lack of engagement with narrative texts, highlighting the necessity for innovative, technology-driven learning tools. In the design phase, engaging gamified media rooted in the RADEC model was crafted on Genially.com, incorporating interactive and visually appealing activities aligned with the RADEC steps (Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain, Create). The development phase involved expert and educator reviews of the media, which yielded a feasibility rating exceeding 90% after refinements were made based on their feedback. During the implementation phase, both small- and large-group trials were conducted, leading to significant improvements in reading comprehension. Pretest-posttest comparisons, bolstered by N-Gain scores, classified the media as "quite effective," with paired sample t-tests confirming statistically significant progress. The study also highlighted high satisfaction levels among teachers and students, who lauded the media for its engaging and effective approach to enhancing comprehension. Ultimately, the study concluded that gamified media, when combined with the RADEC model, effectively boosts cognitive and motivational outcomes, demonstrating its value in real-world classrooms. While the research centered on narrative texts, it emphasizes the potential of interactive technology to cultivate meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences. Future studies should further explore this approach with various text types to enhance digital literacy in 21st-century education

Pesantren and World Peace: Considering the Functional Role of Pesantren in Creating Moderate Santri Pioneers of Peace

    Get PDF
The focus of this article is pesantren and world peace, which discusses the functional role of pesantren in creating moderate santri. This article is reflective, and the result of a literature study carried out by the authors. Based on the results of the author's study, the future of peace for the nation and the world depends on our perspective and abilities, including santri as part of the world community, especially in building mutual commitments in the context of religion, nation, and part of the world community that is moderate in its religious diversity. Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, there will be at least 39,043 pesantren in 2022/2023, with a total number of santri of 4.08 million, which certainly has great potential. However, to make pesantren a basis for religious moderation, their durability can be tested, especially in the context of their functional role in world peace. Pesantren’s resilience can be tested from the achievement of its functional prerequisites, both in terms of adaptation, goal attainment, integration, and latency, which should be in line with the needs of creating moderate santri who pioneer peace. However, it is not impossible to become dysfunctional, if it is on the contrary when pesantren is closer to religious radicalism. In addition, one of the biggest challenges is how pesantren can produce moderate santri in this fast-paced digital era, where the influence of cyberspace is often more dominant than conventional learning

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to critically analyze the process of Islamization with the view of economic, political, and constitutional development in Pakistan. For this purpose, in-depth literature, and newspaper articles were analyzed from 1956 to 1988.  The findings of the in-depth analysis show that from 1956 to 1988, Pakistan saw strong military rule comprising 25 years of martial law collectively during this period. The first attempt to bring Islamization into the country was carried out in 1956 by promulgating an objective resolution. To successfully implement the agenda of Islamization, different government-based Islamic institutions were established: the Islamic Advisory Council and the Islamic Research Center. Bhutto and Zia came into power on the Islamic slogans; Muslim equality and Islamic system. Bhutto brought the 1973 constitution and declared Islam as a religion of the state and also declared Ahamdiya as non-Muslims due to their un-Islamic beliefs. General Zia introduced different Islamic laws through presential order, which describes the harsh punishment for major crimes, changed the direction of the law of evidence, and established Shariat Courts, which were specialized in giving the verdict according to the principles of Islam. It is evident that the political instability and intense martial law led Pakistan into a “politically devastated country” and most of the rulers during this period were strongly against democracy. Therefore, this study helps the reader to figure out the impact of the Islamization policies of different rulers on Pakistani society
