Factor II: fermentation duration (F): 5 days and 7 days. The results of the study showed that the highest antioxidant activity of yellow marigold flower kombucha was 71.44% in G1F2 treatment (200 g palm sugar and 7 days fermentation duration) and the highest organoleptic quality of yellow marigold flower kombucha was brown color, quite sour taste, quite aromatic type of kombucha and quite liked. in the G2F2 treatment (200 g palm sugar and 7 days fermentation duration)
Identification and Prevalence of Gastrointestinal Parasites in the Feces of Sapera Goats at Jawara Farm
Livestock health is a crucial factor that influences the success of animal farming. One of the determinants of livestock health is the presence of parasites. This study aims to identify the types of gastrointestinal parasites and determine their prevalence in Sapera goats at Jawara Farm. The research was conducted using three examination methods: native, sedimentation, and flotation. A total of 23 goat fecal samples were examined in the laboratory. The identification results revealed five types of gastrointestinal parasites: Haemonchus contortus, Trichuris spp., Eimeria hirci, Eimeria christenseni, and Eimeria aspheronica. The parasite with the highest prevalence was Haemonchus contortus (69%), followed by Trichuris spp. (39%), Eimeria aspheronica (26%), Eimeria hirci (17%), and Eimeria christenseni (13%). The highest average Egg Per Gram (EPG) was found in Trichuris spp. (379.17), categorized as a moderate infection. Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and pen hygiene are strongly suspected to influence the prevalence rate and severity of parasitic infections. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for efforts in controlling and preventing parasitic infections on farms
REDOX AND THERMODYNAMIC INVESTIGATION OF 2-HYDROXYETHYLETHYLENEDIAMINETRIACETATOIRON(III) REACTION WITH 2-MERCAPTOETHANOLIC ACID IN A BICARBONATE-BUFFERED ENVIRONMENT
The coordination chemistry of hexadentate ligands is compelling, as it provides both kinetic and thermodynamic stability to the coordinated complex, facilitating electron distribution while preserving structural integrity. In this study, the redox behavior of the reaction between 2-hydroxyethylethylenediaminetriacetatoiron(III) (HEI) and 2-mercaptoethanolic acid (MEA) was investigated spectrophotometrically in a bicarbonate-buffered environment. The reaction followed first-order kinetics with respect to [HEI] and [MEA], with a 2:2 molar ratio observed. The reaction rate was significantly affected by increases in the ionic strength and the dielectric constant of the medium. Ion catalysis was evident, and variations in pH had a significant effect on the redox pathway. Activation enthalpy and Gibbs free energy, as determined via the Eyring–Polanyi equation, indicate that the reaction required additional thermal energy to proceed. The formation of thiyl radicals facilitated the conversion of the mercapto compound to a disulfide. A Michaelis-Menten-type plot (MMTP) supported the absence of intermediate species participation, as indicated by a negative result, further corroborated by matching spectroscopic spectra of reacted and unreacted mixtures. The proposed mechanism offers insight into the potential anticancer activity of mercaptoethanolic acid
Qibla Direction Determination in Historical Mosques: Methodological and Accuracy Assessment at Al-Anwar Grand Mosque, Bandar Lampung
Qibla direction in mosques, historically, was determined using simple methods and traditional tools, resulting in relatively low accuracy. This study aims to analyze the methods and precision of Qibla direction at Jami’ Al-Anwar Mosque, Bandar Lampung, using a qualitative field approach supported by modern instruments. The findings indicate that the true Qibla direction is 295° 18′ 25.82″, while the mosque’s current orientation measured with a theodolite is 295° 12′ 10″ and with a mizwala instrument is 295° 12′ 13.82″. The difference of only 0° 6′ 15.82″ classifies the mosque’s Qibla as accurate according to deviation tolerance theory. Contributing factors include the use of an istiwā’ stick to determine cardinal directions, advances in scientific knowledge, and religious motivations to ensure precision. These results highlight the significance of combining traditional techniques and modern technology to maintain the accuracy of Qibla orientation in historic mosques
Student Readiness of Islamic Elementary Education for Problem-Based Flipped Learning Model in Higher Education
Innovating higher education teaching models is essential to meet the learning challenges of the 21st century. This research discusses the students' readiness and needs for the development and utilisation of the Problem-Based Flipped Learning (PBFL) model in the Islamic Elementary Education Department (PGMI) at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Using a quantitative descriptive survey method with 216 respondents from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts, the research focused on technological readiness, preference for learning styles, and perception toward PBFL. Findings indicated that the device ownership and preference of learning styles were facial in relation to visual/ self-directed, which suggested the practicality of the PBFL application. There was a moderate positive correlation between the availability of devices and readiness towards PBFL; however, limited access to the internet continues to be an obstacle. The current work adds value by incorporating Islamic principles in the design of PBFL, thereby providing a culturally sensitive framework for Islamic education. Furthermore, implementation options are developed around offline materials, student orientation programs, and institutional policies. These results could serve as a foundation for developing adaptive and creative teacher education programs that focus on educational and religious competencies, ultimately paving the way for the integration of PBFL into the PGMI curriculum in the long term
School Committee Participation in Improving the Quality of Education
School Committees in Indonesia hold a strategic mandate to improve the quality of education; however, their concrete contributions in rural elementary schools remain insufficiently explored, particularly regarding the governance-practice gap. This study employed a qualitative case study approach at SD Negeri 01 Badak, utilizing participatory observation, in-depth interviews (with the principal, teachers, and the committee chair), and document analysis. The committee was actively involved in fundraising (e.g., graduation events), providing physical facilities (e.g., a prayer room and student chairs), and planning school programs. However, the oversight of program implementation was weak due to members’ limited understanding of their strategic roles and time constraints, which created disparities between resources and pedagogical needs. Optimizing school-community partnerships requires targeted capacity-building efforts and structured accountability mechanisms to bridge the gap between normative and practical aspects. This study reveals governance disparities within rural School Committees. It contributes to participatory management theory by demonstrating how local socio-cultural constraints, such as parental time poverty, shape decentralization in resource-limited areas
A Light from Finland: Uncovering Teachers’ Role in Evaluating Students’ Learning through Parent-Teacher Conferences
The implementation of the Merdeka curriculum has posed significant challenges for teachers, particularly in learning assessment practices. This study explores the roles of Finnish teachers in evaluating student progress during parent-teacher conferences (PTCs) using a qualitative, autoethnographic approach guided by teacher practice theory. The findings highlight that Finnish teachers utilize comprehensive materials and diverse sources, playing as mentors for children by empowering students to articulate their learning experiences and collaborate with parents through fostering shared educational responsibilities with parents, which indicates the practice represented beyond solely the pedagogical domain. However, the study cautions against directly replicating the Finnish model in Indonesia due to the limited number of participants and differences in educational systems, cultural contexts, and institutional frameworks. Future research should include a larger participant pool to provide a broader understanding of PTCs in Finland, enabling Indonesia to adapt these practices effectively and resolving the problem of student learning assessment in the Merdeka curriculum
Ethnosocial Learning Based on Socio-Cultural Literacy: An Exploratory Study in Elementary School
This research aims to explore the application of the ethnic social learning model, which is grounded in socio-cultural literacy, at the Miftahul Ulum Elementary School in Loram Kudus. The study utilizes an exploratory qualitative approach to understand phenomena where existing information is scarce comprehensively. This research includes fieldwork, with researchers conducting direct observations at the site to obtain and collect pertinent data. Data collection techniques employed in this study included observation, interviews, and documentation methods. Credibility was assessed through three forms of triangulation to ensure the validity of the data: source, technique, and time. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which entails data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions alongside verification processes. The findings underscore the effectiveness of the ethnic social learning model in integrating local cultural values, social literacy, and interpersonal interactions into the educational process. This approach cultivates educational experiences that are both contextually relevant and meaningful. A notable aspect of the research is incorporating the local tradition 'Ampyang Maulid' into the Miftahul Ulum curriculum, which is reflected in both curricular and extracurricular activities. This strategy reinforces character development among students and enhances their cultural awareness and social literacy skills. The study concludes with practical recommendations, including the need for teacher training, improvements in educational facilities, and the encouragement of community collaboration. Overall, this research offers significant theoretical insights into advancing the concept of ethnic social learning within the Indonesian educational context
Development of a Pair Check Cooperative-Based Zig-Zag Book to Improve the Writing Skills of Elementary School Students
This research and development (R&D) aimed at creating educational media designed to enhance skills in writing procedural texts. The research process followed eight key stages: identifying potential issues, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trials, further product revisions, and concluding with usage trials. The participants in this study included fourth-grade students from Ngaliyan 05 Elementary School and Wonosari 02 Elementary School. The findings indicated a clear need among teachers and students for learning media to support their educational goals effectively. In response, the researchers developed the Zig-zag Book media based on the Pair Check Cooperative Learning method. This media encompasses a concise summary of the material, examples of procedural texts accompanied by visuals, student worksheets, and learning evaluations. Feedback from both students and teachers underscored several advantages of the developed media: it features an engaging design with bright colors that appeal to elementary school children, offers a variety of texts, images, examples, and practice questions, and presents precise instructions for use, making it user-friendly. The material is articulated succinctly, employing language and terminology that is accessible and easily understood. Field trials revealed that the media's feasibility was rated at 85% for the content and 93% for the overall quality. Furthermore, students' learning outcomes exhibited significant enhancement, with pre-test and post-test results yielding an impressive N-gain of 72.07%. This evidence suggests that the Zig-zag Book media, based on the Pair Check Cooperative Learning method, effectively improves students' writing skills
