    Get PDF
At present, we increasingly encounter the concept of so-called digital literacy. Digital technologies are constantly evolving in this field and play an important role in human life. They are important not only in the labor market but also in education and human skills development. Digital technologies are thus one of the means by which we can develop the cognitive processes of visually impaired people. We can thus help them to improve a number of areas that are limited due to loss or reduction of visual perception. Especially, thinking, memory, and creating ideas are very important. This contribution was created within the solution of the project TAČR – Reduction of information deficit and development of the imagination of visually impaired people through 3D models with auditory elements in cooperation with the project PIGŽU – Support of information literacy of pupils and teachers. The first of the projects aims to reduce the information deficit caused by the loss or reduction of visual perception in visually impaired people using multisensory action. At the same time, it aims to develop their spatial imagination. The second project then focus on the creation of digital aids, which aims primarily at the development and support of computational thinking. In addition to mainstream primary school pupils, the project also focuses on pupils with special educational needs, including visually impaired individuals. The main output of the project is the creation of aids, including methodologies, using digital technologies. These are technologies such as Ozobot, Blue-Bot, or Bee-bot. The aim of the paper is to acquaint with the project, to provide at least basic information about digital technologies, and especially to describe the possibilities of personality development, skills, and abilities using these technologies in visually impaired students.

In the Ukrainian education and science systems globalization and European integration processes have raised the issue of visibility for Ukrainian scientists. Having the articles in Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals is becoming of particular significance for scientists\u27 authority rise and universities` prestige. Despite the appropriate state of the educational policy, the publishing activity of the majority of Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions’ academic staff still remains insufficient, and to date, a very few empirical research has been carried out to determine reasons for that. The aim of this study was therefore, to investigate how such factors as corporate culture of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, academic career, research and language skills, personal development, financial support etc. contribute to and prevent successful publication activity of University`s academic staff. Two groups of academicians were interviewed. The results showed that it is necessary to create the conditions for the research culture development, develop the research competence, provide systemic monitoring of publication activity, and improve the mechanisms of financial rewards.

The article is devoted to the study of student\u27s coping strategies influence on the level of their subjective well-being in conditions of distance learning. It was found that student\u27s coping strategies have an impact on the level of their psychological comfort. Using regression analysis it was revealed that the variability of student\u27s life well-being is determined by the following coping strategies: positive self-esteem; responsibility; planning; escape and self-control. It was developed the typology of students in the conditions of distance education, which includes such indicators of dominant coping strategies: the level of psychological comfort, dominant coping and measure of stress tolerance. According to the certain typology, three types of students were defined: 1) adaptive type (high indicators of well-being, high indicators of tolerance to stress, dominant strategies “self-esteem”, “responsibility” and “planning” ); 2) maladaptive type (low indicators of well-being, low indicators of tolerance to stress, dominant coping “escape”); 3) average adaptive type (average indicators of well-being, average indicators of tolerance to stress; dominant strategies “responsibility”, “self-control”, low indicators of coping “positive self-esteem”). The results of the study indicate that students who are best adapted to distance learning and have a high level of psychological comfort tend to evaluate themselves positively, treat work responsibly, plan their studies and have an average level of self-control

Chopped-pot (chop pot) is a poker term and a critical opening metaphor for this article. Applied action research steps and these extensions are necessary for practice during a pandemical situation in unstable and challenging teaching at universities in Czechia. Forms of teaching, personal contact and process of monitoring students’ results have changed dynamically. Mass influence of pandemic situation stopped actions at schools and many institutions all over the world. In Czechia, there has been transferred all practical and cognitive (theoretical) subjects to cyberspace. Due to the lack of government information, public fear and low digital literacy level, students have been learning in virtual classes and individual consultations. Many of them have lost contact with their critical practice and opportunities to transfer their knowledge into the school environment. We tried to modify classical action research approaches to new conditions in cyberspace and use it for pre-service and teachers’ innovation from an innovative perspective. In the methodological part, there is research presented from a full semester of gradual teachers’ development. The constructed research tool was tested in virtual conditions and monitored activities and the progress of development in teachers’ self-reflection for their future daily practice. The mixed design of research tools and a combination of the postproduction process of data open scientific feedback for their subjective inquiries in the individual personal development of educational staff in Czechia via action research model

Specialists say that the issue of understanding of influence mechanism of physical activity on psychological health of children and teenagers is not investigated thoroughly. This concerns primarilycollege students, fortheir age equals to that of high school pupils.Psycho-emotional processes in the students’ consciousness and behavior atthat ageare caused by the end of biological and physical development and adaptation to new conditions of studying and living. Our previous research allowed us to determine the condition and dynamics of psycho-emotional indicators during the first academic year against the background of low physical activity. The question of how particular physical activity influences the dynamics of these indicators among college students remains to be unanswered. The aim of the research is to determine the dynamics of indicators of psycho-emotional condition among 15–16 years old students from Medical College. Research methods and techniques like analysis and generalization of scientific literature, documentation, pedagogical observation, SAN and mathematical statistics were applied. The results of the research. Any reliable changes towards either more positive or negative side have not been detected among students from Experimental Group (EG), though indicators of well-being and mood of students from Control Group (CG) have considerably decreased (p≤0,05) during the pedagogical experiment. The reliable deterioration of the CG students’ well-beingfrom have been noticed in comparison with the EG students on the 2nd stage of the experiment. The conclusions. The data obtained from the pedagogical experiment have proved the positive effect of implementation of team-building techniques into physical education of college students on their psycho-emotional condition indicators

For a peaceful world and society, it is essential for cultures to be developed and transformed through common values, and value education is one of the main ways to do that since core values are formed from an early age. But when society is going through a radical transformation process as it is in the case of Latvia, it is difficult to avoid anomie when different and conflicting ideas, memories and norms exist in society. The aim of the research is to explore and analyse the tendencies of the main values in the society of Latvia across different age groups, to see how the situation has developed and what are the main values that need to be stressed through value education in the ongoing educational reform process. To reach the aim of the research, a literature review as well as the analysis of the European Social Survey (2008 and 2018) data was conducted. The research results show some shift in values of the society in Latvia mainly due to priorities of younger generation in the period from 2008 to 2018: universal values have replaced self-direction values as the third most common value in the society of Latvia. In the case of younger generations value perception is indefinite. Partly this is due to the lack of focus on values in our education system since the restoration of independence. There is a need to strengthen the motivational values connected with conformity, self-direction, stimulation and universalism (tolerance) through value education.  It is desirable to highlight the values of achievement such as creativity and desire to succeed, as they are essential for the knowledge society and stimulate motivation for entrepreneurship.

In the Republic of Latvia, a soldier performs public service in the field of national defence and his/her legal status is a right guaranteed by the state, statutory duties, restrictions, and disciplinary liability, which are currently regulated by military law, administrative law and administrative procedure law. In addition to the regulation of special and general legal norms, a soldier also has important and binding moral values, because in Latvia "honour" is a characteristic of a soldier, which is inextricably linked to the soldier\u27s profession both historically and of military service. Within the framework of the paper, the author has studied the concepts, essence, genesis and development of such values of a soldier as "honour" and "dignity", from the historical and modern point of view, both in civil life and military science. The author has also clarified their role in the legal status of a soldier and concluded that the existing legal status of a soldier should be elaborated and can be defined as a right guaranteed nowadays. Although not explicitly defined, it should be included in the legal status of a soldier as a military ethical requirement for his dignity and trust, integrity and duty in the performance by the state, statutory duties and restrictions, disciplinary liability and honor as a military ethical requirement
