ASPECTS OF HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT OF HEALTHCARE WORKFORCE IN THE CONTEXT OF LIFELONG LEARNING: A RAPID REVIEW
Get PDFAn individual\u27s knowledge and skills, also known as human capital, shape its professional quality and become a valuable resource for the organization when entering an employment relationship. Investment in human capital, promoting the formal and non-formal lifelong learning of the workforce while implementing targeted capital monitoring, is essential to achieve the strategic goals of the organisation. In addition, in particularly critical areas such as healthcare, human capital management can play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of healthcare and patient safety. The study aims to analyse the research carried out on the aspects of human capital management of the healthcare workforce and its role in the health sector. To achieve the goal, a rapid review was performed by including articles indexed in the databases Scopus and Web of Science in the period 2017-2021, according to search strategy. The study shows - human capital is mostly analysed at the national or regional level as an indicator of a country\u27s level of development (macro-dimension). At the same time, relatively little research has been conducted at the micro-dimension, where management of human capital of the healthcare workforce has been studied at the institutional or sectoral level. Research on human capital management in the healthcare sector at the institutional level only fragmentarily reflects its importance and does not provide a comprehensive picture of effective management methods or systems, as well as benefits or barriers to implementation. There is a significant lack of research on the interaction of human capital management with specific factors in the healthcare sector, such as the quality of health care and the safety of patients and healthcare professionals.

A new teaching curriculum based on cross-curricular skills has been introduced in new teaching syllabus. One of the cross-curricular skills is creation and business acumen, which can also be called a creativity as one of the aspects characterizing a child in the implementation of pre-school education content, along with curiosity and joy of life. It is essentially to find out what another pre-school teachers think about the development of children\u27s creativity in pre-school to evaluate the main factors influencing children\u27s creativityThe aim of the article is to clarify the experience of teachers in developing creation and business acumen skills in pre-school. By studying the literature and analyzing the results of questionnaires, it is found that to develop children’s creation and business acumen in pre-school educational institutions it is important to take into account each child\u27s individual characteristics and to make an appropriate environment. The teacher must be competent enough to be able to promote each child\u27s creativity and business acume and to make a learning environment where the child can express himself / herself freely and creatively
THE IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON THE BUSINESS SECTOR AND LABOUR MARKET IN SOUTH AFRICA: A FOCUS ON THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY
Get PDFThe purpose of this paper is to explore the impact which was by the Covid-19 pandemic in the hospitality industry of South Africa. South Africa has one of the largest and highest developed hospitality industries in the region. The hospitality sector in South Africa employs 5% of the active age group and contributes around 10.3% revenue income to the government of South Africa. Unfortunately, South Africa emerged as one of the hot spots of the Covid-19 virus infections. As a way of controlling the pandemic, hard lockdowns were introduced starting on the 27th of March 2020. The sealing of the country’s port of entries brought the hospitality sector to its knees. This study evaluates impact of Covid-19 on the business sector and the labour market in South Africa focussing on the hospitality industry. The study used secondary data from survey reports from South Africa’s National Department of Tourism, (Statssa, Google mobility and other authoritative relevant sources. The study concluded that the pandemic had a devastating effect on areas such as labour, the overall business, the labour market, and the hospitality sector. The most affected areas from the hospitality sector were aviation, maritime, special events, accommodation, hotels, restaurants, lodges, recreational parks, and national parks. When COVID-19 came some businesses in the hospitality sector were servicing loans borrowed from financial institutions. The findings of the study indicated the need for a strong financial backup to cushion business during pandemics for the hospitality sector, tax holidays and adoption of stringent health protocols to assist the industry recovery and make business more profitable. The theoretical implication of the study is that it will expose the impact of COVID-19 on the business sector and the labour market in South Africa with a focus on the hospitality industry, and to map a future mitigatory way to overcome such natural calamities towards the business sector
TVET TEACHER TRAINING IN SOUTH AFRICA: LITERATURE REVIEW
Get PDFIn the light of the annually increasing TVET learners’ enrolment numbers,TVET lecturers are central in TVET institutions. However, TVET teachers’ training in South Africa is under-explored.The research aim is to analyse literature on TVET teachers’ training in South Africa underpinning the elaboration of directions of further research. Literature review served as the research method was implemented in November-December 2021. The obtained data were structured in accordance with the previously established criteria. Summarising content analysis was performed. The conclusion is that the research done in the field of TVET lecturers’ training programmes in South Africa is fragmentedly presented to the scientific community. The structuring content analysis allows finding that the research in the field of TVET lecturers’ training programmes does not address TVET lecturers’ digital skills despite their impact on human being everyday life in the light of COVID-19 pandemic. Another finding is the entrepreneurship education is not embedded into TVET lecturers’ training programmes, too. Future work will include the implementation of empirical studies in the field of the analysis of TVET training programmes in South Africa. The novelty of the research is reflected in the directions of further work.
CAREER EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN WITH BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS AT SCHOOL
Get PDFResearchers, analysing career education, note that although the topic has recently received a great deal of global interest and schools are actively working to modernize their career education system, however, it is still inconsistent (Surgėlienė, 2014; Falco, 2016; Ho, Sum, & Wong, 2018; Seward & Gaesser, 2018; Chuang, Lee, & Kwock, 2020; Keele, Swann, & Davie-Smythe, 2020; Yang & Wong, 2020; Gati & Kulcsár, 2021). Actually, most graduates are unsure about their future career decisions, tend to change their choices. In this context, there are doubts about the quality of career education in schools as the evaluation of career education at school reveals various vulnerable groups to whom this service is restricted due to various internal and external conflicts (Hu, Hood, Creed, & Shen, 2020; Xu, 2020). The analysis, based on the PRISMA 2020 (Page et al., 2021), aims to answer the questions 1) What are the main institutional (school) empowerment conditions that enable students to gain quality career education? 2) How to encourage students with behavioural problems to take advantage of these opportunities? The review of the research allowed to construct a conceptual framework of career education for children with behavioural problems at secondary school.

Pupils with mental disorders have a narrow vocabulary and difficulty to express their thoughts clearly, as well as memory and the ability to memorize new information tend to be reduced. The curriculum in language lessons in primary school envisages that pupils with mental disorders learn to read, write, listen, understand information, learn to express one\u27s thoughts correctly and in clear language, as well as to enrich vocabulary.
