PEDAGOGICAL POTENTIAL OF A PICTURE TO ENHANCE SPEECH FOR CHILDREN WITH LANGUAGE DISORDERS
Get PDFThe scientist A. Leontyev assures that the language competence is the result of development of continuous use of each language. Only through active communication and active speech activity an understanding about language emerges for the child (Leontyev, 1977). The scientist Glukhov (2005) outlines the skill to improve the language abilities by performing the speech activity in the process of communication. Whereas, one of the most significant factors in the process of mastering the language is a positive emotional background, where the child is encouraged to perceive visible, apparent things, living beings, natural phenomena, to listen and pronounce words which designate them. This also inspires to investigate the pedagogical potential of a picture to enhance speech for children with language disorders.The picture is a significant visual aid for a child not only to be taught but also to have fun for improving the language skills. Therefore, it is worked out a set of pictures as a help for the parents to work with a child at home. In a such way a speech therapist is involving the parents in a teaching process to prolong an educational process with a child. As a result, the parents get a pedagogic experience and the efficient development for a child language.
PROFESSIONAL SELF-CONCEPT OF NURSES AND WILLINGNESS TO REMAIN IN THE PROFESSION
Get PDFThe professional self-concept of nurses, who make up the majority of medical practitioners and who participate in the implementation of public health policy, plays an important role in job satisfaction, productivity, which leads to patient satisfaction and development of the profession. Whereas, nurse job satisfaction affects nurse\u27s future plans related to willingness to remain in the profession. Nursing self-concept is shaped and influenced by many different factors, one of them global self-esteem. The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between the factors forming the professional self-concept, self-esteem and willingness to remain in profession of practicing nurses. The results revealed that there are statistically significant links between some groups of socio-demographic data: age and self-esteem, level of education and self-esteem, as well as the desire to remain in the profession. Statistically significant differences have been identified between respondents\u27 answers according to age group, education level, length of service and certificate in relation to different sub-scales of self-concept.
INCLUSION OF SENIOR CITIZENS IN LIFELONG LEARNING TO REDUCE THE NEGATIVE IMPACT OF POPULATION AGING IN LATVIA SOCIETY
Get PDFToday, the age structure of the population of Latvia is close to the average for the European Union, but the share of senior citizens is rapidly increasing. Population aging is one of the most significant trends in demographic processes, which brings changes to all areas of society. This article analyses some risks both for seniors themselves and for society resulting from these trends, and the reasons why Latvia is falling behind in addressing these risks. The primary goal of this article is to summarise and interpret a variety of scientific publications and legal documents from a global perspective, also using methods such as monograph analysis, content analysis, descriptive statistics, and compilations of experiences and best practices. The author of the article put forward arguments in favour of the inclusion of seniors in lifelong education in Latvia, as one of the elements of social policy to reduce the negative effects of population aging. According to the author, it is necessary to promote and develop a fully lifelong learning system for seniors in Latvia.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR EDUCATIONAL MANAGERS: ANALISING THE EXPERIENCE OF COUNTRIES WITH DIFFERENT SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WITH THE VIEW OF ITS POSSIBLE USE IN UKRAINE
Get PDFProfessional standards for educational managers establish the compliance of a person with the professional requirements; therefore, it is important to study them in order to develop the content of university training programs for school principals. The aim of the present research is to examine the experience of standardization of educational managers’ professional activity in the countries of different socio-economic development and various degrees of participation in the global educational integration processes, as well as to highlight the possible use of best practices to develop and implement the most effective university training programs for educational managers. We conducted the study during 2018 – 2020 according to the methodology of the aspect analysis, having distinguished two aspects: functional and behavioural. We analysed the professional standards within the framework of regional clusters taking as a basis the mutual convergence and interaction of their educational systems, namely regions that are the generators of integration processes; regions that respond positively to integration processes but do not initiate them; regions that are inert to the integration of educational processes. Furthermore, we chose a few countries from each cluster, which adopted the standards at the state level or at the level of individual administrative units within a particular country. The results of the analysis made it possible to identify general and special trends, peculiar to certain groups of countries. The results obtained within the framework of the study made it possible for us to develop the construct of the standard that takes into account the particular features of socio-economic development of Ukraine.
ASSESSMENT OF PEDAGOGICAL COMPETENCE OF ACADEMIC STAFF: CASE STUDY
Get PDFThe current European guidelines and national priorities for the development of Latvia – to strengthen the teaching, learning and research capacity of higher education institutions and to develop the corresponding skills and competence of academic staff, promoting the excellence of science and higher education. The article will review the issue of pedagogical competence of academic staff (PCAS) in higher education institutions focusing on the primary tenants of its formation and development, offering the definition of PCAS, emphasizing non-teacher trained academic staff (without pedagogical background). As well as contribute to the discussion of PCAS among the experts and professionals of non-pedagogical field, formulating the core elements for the assessment of PCAS in three perspectives: of educators, of students, of higher education institution. The aim of this article is to determine the list of core elements for the assessment of PCAS, analyzing the proposals of 60 experts from Riga Technical University and defining the perspectives of PCAS assessment. This study will help higher education institutions to rethink their strategies for the assessment of academic staff and further perspectives of their development planning.

Detailed planning of marketing communications can help a company to make marketing activities more targeted and with a higher potential return, which can bring positive results to new customers. Purpose of the research: to study the work, activities and marketing communications offers of "Raunas Bruģakmens" LTD. Marketing communication and its management are being tested. The marketing communication processes of "Raunas Bruģakmens" LTD are described and evaluated. After analysing the existing marketing communications plans, the author compiled several applications and made proposals for the Raunas Bruģakmens marketing communications plan for 2021. The theoretical literature was used, as well as periodicals. "Raunas Bruģakmens" LTD has no published materials and research articles on marketing planning processes
