    Corruption offenses are not exclusively committed by civilians; disciplined military personnel can also be involved. A notable instance of this was disclosed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) through a sting operation (OTT) on July 27, 2023. During this operation, KPK apprehended several private individuals and the Coordinator of Administration (Koorsmin) of Basarnas RI, Lieutenant Colonel Adm Afri Budi Cahyanto. The identification problem of this analysis is the authority and legal basis for KPK RI to charge the Head of Basarnas RI and the Coordinator of Administration (Koorsmin) of Basarnas RI in the context of the procurement project for disaster victim search equipment. Additionally, it examines the legal foundation for KPK RI to designate an active military officer as a suspect in a corruption case within a non-military institution. The result and conclusion; reveals that KPK possesses the authority to handle corruption cases involving active-duty personnel who are employed in non-military institutions or organizations, even if the perpetrators are active military officers. The primary legal foundation for the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPK RI) to designate a suspect in the disaster victim search equipment procurement project is Law Number 19 of 2019, which is the second amendment to Law Number 30 of 2002 on the Corruption Eradication Commission

    Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan estetika sensoris dalam strategi experiential marketing pada kampanye Stitch Summer Invasion oleh Disney di Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 (PIK 2). Kampanye ini menghadirkan wahana interaktif yang membentuk pengalaman multisensoris bagi audiens. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode netnografi, yakni pengamatan terhadap jejak digital audiens di media sosial seperti TikTok, Instagram, dan YouTube. Teori estetika sensoris dari Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten digunakan sebagai kerangka konseptual, yang memandang keindahan sebagai sensible cognition. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa elemen-elemen sensoris dalam kampanye ini memicu pengalaman estetis yang melibatkan visual, suara, sentuhan, gerakan, dan aroma. Estetika yang dihasilkan bersifat embodied, di mana tubuh audiens berperan aktif dalam membentuk resonansi emosional terhadap ruang, objek, dan aktivitas. Temuan netnografis memperlihatkan bahwa pengalaman tersebut tidak hanya bersifat personal, tetapi juga disebarkan dan dimaknai ulang melalui media sosial, menjadikannya bagian dari budaya visual digital

    The visual and material adaptation process of illumination motifs from the ancient manuscripts of Puro Mangkunegaran into interior products, specifically floor surfaces. As part of Javanese visual heritage, manuscript illumination contains rich ornamental forms embedded with symbolic, aesthetic, and spiritual values. Transforming these motifs from manuscript media into flooring requires a design approach that not only involves stylization but also considers functional relevance and material characteristics in a modern context. The process examined includes motif selection and classification, form simplification (stylization), modular repetition and composition, as well as color and scale adjustments tailored to interior visual needs. The stylized motifs are then applied to various flooring materials such as ceramic and natural stone using digital printing and manual techniques. Collaboration with local ceramic industries was carried out to test the technical and aesthetic feasibility of the transformed designs. The results show that adapting Mangkunegaran manuscript illuminations into floor products enriches interior aesthetics while serving as a practical means of cultural preservation in contemporary design. This research recommends further adaptation of traditional visual heritage into other interior elements to promote the integration of local identity within modern spatial design

    Basement structure work is a crucial part of constructing multi-story buildings, especially in dense urban areas with limited workspace or heavy equipment maneuverability. This study aims to analyze the comparison between two basement construction methods, namely the Cut-and-Cover method and the Top-Down construction method, using a case study on the Wahid Hasyim Apartment building project in Medan, North Sumatra. The analysis is based on two main parameters: execution duration and construction cost. The research findings indicate that the Cut-and-Cover method requires an execution time of 215 days with a total cost of Rp. 59,297,411,788.65. Meanwhile, the Top-Down method only requires an execution time of 164 days with a total cost of Rp. 48,012,728,671.13. Based on these results, the implementation of the Top-Down construction method is proven to be superior, with a time effectiveness of 23.72% and a cost efficiency of 19.03% compared to the Cut-and-Cover method. This is because with the Top-Down method, several work items can be performed concurrently

    ASSESSMENT OF CARBON EMISSIONS FROM THE WASTE MANAGEMENT SECTOR IN AJATAPPARENG REGION, SOUTH SULAWESI, INDONESIA

    Ajatappareng is a region in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia which consists of four regencies and one administrative city. The regencies are Barru, Sidenreng Rappang, Pinrang, and Enrekang while the city is Parepare. The area has experienced a significant growth in terms of population which further leads to an increase in waste generation. Waste are a major challenge for environmental management especially due to the role in producing carbon emissions.  Aim: This study aims to assess the carbon emissions produced in waste management sector of the Ajatappareng Region. Methodology and results: The GHG Simulation-Version II spreadsheet was used to assess the GHG emissions from the transportation of waste in the respective regencies. Mathematical formulas were provided in the cells to calculate the GHG emissions of the simulation developed. Conclusion, significance, and impact study: The results showed that the volume of carbon emissions was 16,299.84 kg CO2-eq/month for Barru Regency, 17,076.03 kg CO2-eq/month for Sidrap Regency, 16,817.30 kg CO2-eq/month for Parepare City, 17,722.85 kg CO2-eq/month for Pinrang Regency, and 19,145.85 kg CO2-eq/month for Enrekang Regency. Moreover, the GHG emissions from mixed waste in the final disposal site were 918,531.01 kg CO2-eq/month, 1,733,537.85 kg CO2-eq/month, 1,404,917.59 kg CO2-eq/month, 1,723,004.12 kg CO2-eq/month, and 523,506.36 kg CO2-eq/month, respectively. Therefore, potential efforts are required to reduce CO2 emissions by optimizing waste transportation, promoting recycling, managing organic waste through composting, as well as improving collaborations with the private sector

    Antibacterial Effects of Moringa oleifera Leaf Extract Against Enterococcus faecalis in vitro

    Background: The aim of endodontic treatment is to eliminate bacteria from the root canal. Bacterial removal from the root canal can be achieved with a mechanical approach using an instrument and a disinfecting irrigation agent. Enterococcus faecalis is the most prevalent bacteria found in root canals. Research studies have also been conducted to examine irrigation systems using herbal products such as drumstick tree leaf (Moringa oleifera) instead of NaOCl. Active compounds in M. oleifera, such as flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, phenolics, and triterpenoids, possess antibacterial effects. Objectives: The aim of this study is to assess the antibacterial effect of drumstick tree extract (M. oleifera) in several concentrations (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) as an irrigation solution against E. faecalis through in the root canal ex vivo. Methods: This study used 24 mandibular premolars, divided into six category groups. Group 1 received 5.25% NaOCl as a positive control, Group 2 received 25% M. oleifera extract, Group 3 received 50% M. oleifera extract, Group 4 received 75% M. oleifera extract, Group 5 received 100% M. oleifera extract, and Group 6 received irrigation using phosphate‑buffered saline as a negative control. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction methods used to analyze the E. faecalis number in the root canal after treatment with M. oleifera extract. Results: A one‑way ANOVA showed significant differences (P = 0.05) between the three types of irrigation solutions against E. faecalis. Among the six study groups, the most prominent efficacy was found in Groups 1, 4, and 5. Conclusion: M. oleifera extract solution at concentrations of 75% and 100% is as effective as 5.25% NaOCl. This extract may be used as an alternative irrigation agent for root canal treatment. However, further studies are warranted to examine the toxicity effect

    Modeling and Prediction of Kappaphycus alvarezii Viscosity Using Artificial Neural Network and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System

    This study examines the viscosity behavior of Kappaphycus alvarezii polymer solutions enhanced with TiO2 nanoparticles under varying concentrations, salinity, and temperature. Predictive models were developed using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) approaches. The experimental work involved preparing Kappaphycus alvarezii solutions with polymer concentrations ranging from 2,000 to 6,000 ppm and TiO2 nanoparticle concentrations from 2,000 to 4,000 ppm at salinities of 6,000–30,000 ppm and temperatures between 30 °C and 80 °C. Results showed that increasing Kappaphycus alvarezii concentration enhanced viscosity by 1.04–21.12%, while TiO2 nanoparticles improved viscosity stability, especially under high-salinity conditions. In contrast, higher salinity and temperature reduced viscosity due to ionic screening and increased molecular motion, although a slight rise was observed at 30,000 ppm salinity. The optimized ANN model (18 neurons, one hidden layer) achieved a superior correlation coefficient (r = 0.9980) compared to ANFIS (r = 0.8769), confirming higher predictive accuracy. These findings demonstrate the potential of Kappaphycus alvarezii–TiO2 nanofluids as sustainable viscosity modifiers for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and verify the reliability of ANN and ANFIS models in predicting viscosity under complex multivariable interactions

    CORPORATE FINANCIAL VULNERABILITY AND TAX AGGRESSIVENESS:EVIDENCE FROM INDONESIAN CONSUMER FIRMS

    This study examines how financial distress, institutional ownership, and leverage influence tax avoidance practices in Indonesian non-cyclical consumer companies during 2019-2023. While prior research shows inconsistent findings regarding these relationships, limited evidence exists on how financial vulnerability shapes tax strategies in emerging markets, particularly during periods of economic uncertainty. Understanding these dynamics is crucial given Indonesia\u27s persistent tax gap and the unique characteristics of the consumer sector, which maintains stable revenues despite varying financial health across firms. Using panel data from 36 non-cyclical consumer companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange over five years (180 firm-year observations), we employ multiple regression analysis with the Effective Tax Rate as the dependent variable measuring tax avoidance. Financial distress is measured using the Altman Z-Score, institutional ownership by percentage of shares held by institutional investors, and leverage by debt-to-equity ratio. The analysis controls for firm size and profitability to ensure robust results. The findings reveal that financial distress has a significant negative effect on tax avoidance, indicating that financially distressed firms reduce aggressive tax practices to maintain stakeholder trust and avoid regulatory scrutiny. However, institutional ownership and leverage show no significant effect on tax avoidance in this context. These results contribute to agency theory by demonstrating that financial constraints moderate the traditional principal-agent conflict regarding tax strategies. The implications suggest that tax authorities should focus monitoring efforts on financially stable firms rather than distressed ones, while investors can use financial health indicators as signals of tax risk exposure in emerging market contexts

    Women’s Resort Wear Design in Response to Fashion Design Homogeneity in Bali Bali, as one of the most popular tropical tourist destination, has experienced rapid growth in its fashion industry, particularly in the resort wear category, which is favored by both domestic and international tourists. However, based on observations of various brands circulating in Bali, there is a tendency toward design homogeneity, characterized by repetitive silhouettes, colors, and fabric patterns, with minimal exploration. This stands in contrast to the preferences of modern consumers, especially Generation Z, who seek fashion with unique, expressive designs and a sense of exclusivity. In response to this problem, this study aims to design a women’s resort wear collection in the ready-to-wear deluxe category, offering uniqueness through design exploration, complex construction techniques, and the use of premium materials. This research applies a qualitative approach through field observations of 20 resort wear brands in Bali, supported by literature studies from various sources on fashion and market trends. The target market for this collection is Generation Z women aged 18–28 who visit Bali, who are confident, active on social media, and drawn to sexy, bold, and edgy styles. The resulting collection is expected to provide a solution to the design homogeneity in Bali’s fashion industry, while also enhancing the competitiveness of local fashion products in both national and international markets through a more innovative, explorative, exclusive, and tropically relevant design approach
