    A Conversational Analysis of Racial Humors Targeting Chinese Characters in “Family Guy”

    This research article examines the use of racial humor targeting Chinese characters in the television series "Family Guy" through conversational analysis. Contextualization cues, linguistic features, paralinguistic signals, non-verbal communication, and visual elements are analyzed across five selected clips. The study contextualizes each scene within broader cultural and societal contexts, exploring the portrayal of stereotypes and their implications. Findings reveal how humor is derived from exaggeration, absurdity, and reinforcement of stereotypes, particularly regarding Chinese culture, labor practices, and family dynamics. Through structured analysis, the article highlights the nuanced interplay between humor, stereotype, and cultural representation in the context of comedic television. The conclusion underscores the need for critical examination of media portrayals and the importance of understanding the impact of humor on perpetuating or challenging stereotypes. Overall, this study contributes to discourse on racial humor, cultural representation, and media analysis, offering insights into the complexities of comedic storytelling in popular culture

    Verification of Point Dose on MU Calculator for Bleeding Cases

    Bleeding is a frequent issue among cancer patients, affecting about 6% to 10% of those with advanced-stage cancer. External radiation therapy is a highly effective method for reducing or even stopping bleeding, with success rates ranging from 45% to 100%. In bleeding cases, radiation therapy must be delivered quickly and precisely. To expedite the process, some standard steps in radiation therapy, such as the CT simulation and planning via the treatment planning system (TPS), are often skipped. Consequently, accurate Monitor Unit (MU) calculations are essential to ensure that the dose received by the patient does not deviate by more than 5%, as recommended by the ICRU. Using guidelines from AAPM TG 71, MU calculations were formulated and compiled into a Microsoft Excel worksheet called the MU Calculator. Several key parameters, including dose prescription, output factor (OF), and tissue maximum ratio (TMR), were input into the MU Calculator and verified through point dose verification on a slab phantom using the SAD technique. The verification was conducted using 10 MV energy across various field sizes (10 x 10, 12 x 12, 14 x 14, 16 x 16, 18 x 18, and 20 x 20) cm² at depths of 6, 8, and 10 cm, utilizing a PTW Farmer detector with dose prescriptions of 200, 300, and 400 cGy. The field size, depth, and dose prescription were selected to align with common requirements for bleeding cases. By applying the dose calculation formula recommended by TRS 398, the deviation between the prescribed and measured doses was found to be less than 2.5%. These deviations were attributed to factors such as measurement setup, temperature and pressure conditions, polarity effects, and detector recombination effects. The MU Calculator has been validated, demonstrating compliance with ICRU recommendations, and is thus suitable for use in bleeding cases that demand swift and precise external radiation therapy

    Inovasi Alat Penunjang Pembuatan Sediaan Histopatologi

    The availability of supporting tools for histopathology slide preparation remains limited, characterized by high usage rates, inefficient material consumption, cleaning difficulties, frequent damage, high costs, small capacity, and low precision. This study aims to develop prototype innovations of supporting tools for histopathology preparation to address these issues. Three types of innovative tools were developed: a paraffin block mold, a slide rack for an automatic staining machine, and a slide box made of silicone-resin. The development process consisted of three main stages: the first mold creation (outer part), the second mold creation (inner part), and the casting of the innovative tools. The results demonstrate that the developed tools offer advantages in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, material savings, cost reduction, durability, and ease of production. Based on functionality testing, all tools were deemed feasible for use. This innovation is expected to serve as an alternative solution to the limited availability of supporting tools in the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine, while also introducing a new approach through the use of different materials

    Penentuan Kualitas Kaolin sebagai Prekursor Sintesis Zeolit pada Kegiatan Praktikum

    Zeolite synthesis has attracted the attention of researchers today because of the functional properties of zeolites. The zeolite synthesis process can be influenced by various factors, one of which is the quality of the zeolite precursor. One of the precursor materials for zeolite synthesis is kaolin. This study aims to determine the quality of three kaolin brands used as precursors for zeolite synthesis in practicum activities. The quality of kaolin was assessed through gravimetric loss on ignition testing and analysis of the metal oxide composition using an X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometer. The loss on ignition analysis results for kaolin A, kaolin B, and kaolin C samples were 7.94%, 7.87%, and 6.52%, respectively. The XRF analysis results, which included the compositions of SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, K2O and Na2O, were as follows: for kaolin A, 57.58%, 0.78%, 19.69%, 5.83%, 0.23%, 1.03%, 0.99% and 0.11%; for kaolin B, 56.30%, 0.80%, 21.30%, 7.19%, 0.08%, 0.52%, 1.19% and 0.16%; and for kaolin C, 68.03%, 0.80%, 14.40%, 5.08%, 0.32%, 0.94%, 0.95% and 0.01%. The two analysis results showed that the three kaolin samples had met the requirements as zeolite precursors based on the range of reference specification values: loss on ignitation<10%, SiO2 content 50–70%, TiO2 <1%, Al2O3 8.5–30.5%, Fe2O3 2–15.5%, CaO <1.68%, MgO 0.48–1.19%, K2O <3.6%, and Na2O <0.35%. The ensuing results furnish recommendations for the zeolite synthesis practicum, to select the most suitable kaolin type

    Pengolahan Limbah Laboratorium Kimia Secara Organik Menggunakan Kitosan dan Ekstrak Daun Abelmoschus dalam Kegiatan Praktikum

    Laboratory wastewater is hazardous to health and the environment; therefore, it must be treated correctly and precisely. Wastewater treatment involves coagulation and flocculation processes. Mostly, chemicals used as coagulants or flocculants are expensive and if used for a long time, they will damage the environment. In this study, wastewater treatment was carried out with environmentally friendly organic materials, namely using chitosan and Abelmoschus leaf extract. The aithis research was to examine the effectiveness of organic waste processing using chitosan and Abelmoschus leaf extract in relation to turbidity values. The research began with the optimization parameters (pH, coagulant/flocculant dosage, rate and stirring time) carried out using the Jar test. Optimum parameters were obtained from the lowest turbidity value for each parameter. From the research results, it was obtained that the optimum parameters were: pH 6.5; coagulant dose 400 mg/L; flocculant dose 105 mg/L; coagulant and flocculant stirring rate 50 rpm and 30 rpm; coagulant flocculant stirring time 12.5 minutes and 10 minutes.The optimum parameters applied to wastewater treatment. The results indicate that turbidity value in the wastewater before processing is an average of 359 NTU and the turbidity value after processing is an average of 13.31 NTU.To confirm the results of the study, statistical tests were carried out on the samples. It is resulting there was a significant level difference due to the addition of chitosan and Abelmoschus leaf extract

    Pusat Informasi Pariwisata Sebagai Wadah Pengembangan Budaya Lokal dan  UMKM Kabupaten Boyolali adalah proyek Karya Tugas Akhir yang dilatarbelakangi dari  Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Daerah (RPJMD) Kabupaten Boyolali. RPJMD  bertujuan untuk mengarahkan kebijakan, program, dan kegiatan yang akan dilaksanakan  untuk mencapai visi dan misi pemerintah daerah. Pada tahun 2024, Kabupaten Boyolali  memiliki arahan kebijakan berupa memacu produktivitas dengan pemberdayaan  masyarakat untuk optimalisasi sektor unggulan serta pemerataan investasi. Pariwisata dan  kegiatan usaha mikro dapat menjadi peluang dalam mengoptimalkan sektor unggulan yang  ada di Kabupaten Boyolali. Pariwisata yang ada memegang peranan penting dan memberi  kontribusi kepada sektor-sektor lain, salah satunya bidang usaha seperti UMKM yang  menjadi hal penting dalam perekonomian lokal. Namun potensi wisata dan produk-produk  lokal Kabupaten Boyolali sering kali kurang dikenal serta belum mendapatkan eksposur  yang memadai di pasar yang lebih luas. Oleh karena itu, proyek Karya Tugas Akhir ini  diharapkan dapat menjadi jembatan komunikasi yang efektif untuk memfasilitasi serta  membantu dalam mempromosikan berbagai wisata dan produk lokal yang ada di kabupaten  Boyolali.     Peran Rencana Tata Ruang Kawasan Strategis Nasional terhadap Pengaruh Investasi pada Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Kawasan Strategis Nasional

    Kawasan Strategis Nasional (KSN) merupakan salah satu bentuk kebijakan wilayah yang memiliki nilai strategis dan dikelompokkan berdasarkan sudut kepentingan ekonomi, sosial budaya, sumber daya alam dan/atau teknologi tinggi, dan pertahanan keamanan. KSN diamanatkan dalam Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Nasional (RTRWN) dan harus disusun rencana tata ruangnya dalam bentuk Rencana Tata Ruang Kawasan Strategis Nasional (RTRKSN). Secara fungsi, rencana tata ruang digunakan sebagai salah satu instrumen untuk memperoleh izin berusaha. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran RTRKSN terhadap pengaruh investasi pada pertumbuhan ekonomi KSN dengan menggunakan analisis data panel dengan model Two-Stage Least Square (2SLS). Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa penetapan RTRKSN yang menyebabkan pengaruh investasi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi menjadi lebih besar dibandingkan pada KSN yang belum memiliki RTRKSN hanya terjadi pada KSN pertahanan keamanan. Sementara penetapan RTRKSN pada KSN Ekonomi, KSN sosial budaya dan KSN lingkungan hidup menggambarkan tidak adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dari investasi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Hal ini dikarenakan masih minimnya penetapan RTRKSN pada KSN tersebut, serta mengindikasikan adanya muatan yang tidak dapat mendukung peluang investasi. Dengan demikian, diharapkan penelitian ini mampu memberikan gambaran untuk membuat diagram prioritas dalam menyusun RTRKSN atau mengevaluasi kembali daftar KSN.Perencanaan tata ruang memiliki peran penting dalam mendorong investasi dan pertumbuhan ekonomi di Kawasan Strategis Nasional (KSN). Rencana Tata Ruang Kawasan Strategis Nasional (RTRKSN) bertujuan untuk memberikan kepastian regulasi dan meningkatkan daya tarik investasi. Namun, efektivitas RTRKSN dalam mendorong investasi masih diperdebatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh RTRKSN terhadap investasi dan pertumbuhan ekonomi di berbagai kategori KSN. Menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan analisis data panel serta pendekatan Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS), penelitian ini mengamati periode 2017-2021 dengan sampel kabupaten/kota di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penetapan RTRKSN tidak selalu meningkatkan investasi secara signifikan, terutama pada KSN Ekonomi, Sosial Budaya, Sumber Daya Alam dan/Teknologi Tinggi, dan Lingkungan Hidup. Namun, pada KSN Pertahanan dan Keamanan, RTRKSN berperan penting dalam meningkatkan peluang investasi. Ketidakkonsistenan ini dapat disebabkan oleh tantangan koordinasi kebijakan, implementasi yang belum optimal, serta perbedaan karakteristik geografis. Penelitian ini menyarankan perlunya evaluasi dan penyesuaian kebijakan RTRKSN untuk meningkatkan efektivitasnya, termasuk percepatan penyediaan infrastruktur dan jaminan kepastian hukum bagi investor. Temuan ini berkontribusi dalam memberikan pemahaman lebih mendalam terkait peran perencanaan tata ruang dalam pembangunan ekonomi serta memberikan rekomendasi strategis bagi pembuat kebijakan.

    The Changing Face of Rural Kediri: A Study on Rural Transformation Processes

    Urbanization, along with the flow of various elements, has triggered changes in the economic, social, and spatial structures of many regions, driving processes of rural transformation. This transformation presents challenges for both rural and urban development due to its broad impact on physical, socio-economic, and cultural aspects. Kediri Regency, located on Java Island, has experienced such changes, with 29 villages reclassified as urban between 2000 and 2010, based on BPS Regulation No. 37 of 2010—indicating a clear sign of rural transformation. This study aims to assess the degree of rural transformation in Kediri Regency by analyzing physical, economic, and socio-demographic aspects. The research uses spatial and socio-economic data from 2013 and 2023, analyzed through descriptive quantitative methods, GIS, and a weighted scoring analysis. Findings show that all three studied villages—Bringin, Gempolan, and Petok—have undergone varying levels of transformation. Bringin displays the most significant economic and socio-demographic transformation, driven by growth in non-agricultural employment, household income, and access to education and health services. Gempolan ranks highest in overall transformation due to industrial growth, land-use changes, and expanded infrastructure and services. In contrast, Petok shows minimal transformation, particularly in economic and physical aspects, with stagnant development indicators. Overall, rural transformation is most advanced in Bringin, likely due to its proximity to Pare, a secondary city, which stimulates rural change through increased urban economic interaction

    Role of Social Media and Digital Platforms in Healthcare Marketing: A Scoping Review

    Introduction: Healthcare providers face increased competition as they expand their facilities and services for patients. Healthcare marketing plays a significant role in their performance, with well-designed strategies resulting in better innovation outcomes and healthcare services. This scoping review analyzed how social media and digital platforms become part of the marketing strategy.Methods: This study employed a scoping review methodology to screen manuscripts from 4 databases: Proquest, Emerald Insight, Springerlink, and Garuda. PEO framework outlined as Population refers to healthcare consumers, Exposure was the digital marketing and Outcome was the effectiveness of social media and digital technologies in hospital. The eligibility criteria included: unrestricted access to the article, published in the last five years, manuscript in English.Results: PRISMA flow chart was used to show each step of the eligibility criteria for article selection. The study selected a total of 7 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Five of the articles showcased hospitals' social media strategies, one highlighted their adoption of social media, and one highlighted the impact of media framing. The social media had been found to positively affected both brand loyalty and the overall customer experience.Conclusion: The report emphasizes how social media and digital platforms are becoming more important in hospital marketing, as well as how they affect consumer satisfaction and brand loyalty.
