MODELING OF POVERTY INDICATORS IN EAST JAVA PROVINCE USING BOOTSTRAP AGGREGATING MULTIVARIATE ADAPTIVE REGRESSION SPLINE (BAGGING MARS)

Poverty is a situation where a person is below the minimum standard value line. The view regarding poverty can be said that poverty is a multidimensional phenomenon where there are many indicators that influence poverty, so modeling needs to be carried out to find out what indicators influence poverty. This research uses The Multivariate Adaptive Regression Spline (MARS) with Bootstrap Aggregating. MARS is a nonparametric regression method that can handle high- dimensional data. The best model produced by MARS is a combination of BF=24, MI=1, MO=0 with a GCV of 9.231184. Then Bagging was carried out on the initial dataset with 35, 45, 50, 75 and 100 bootstrap replications. The best model was produced by MARS Bagging on 45 replications with a GCV of 3.84492. The GCV value obtained by Bagging MARS is smaller than MARS. This shows that Bagging can reduce GCV and increase accuracy, so this method can be used in this research

Background: Permanent first molar teeth are the key to determining occlusion in dental development. One of the consequences of lower first molar tooth loss is upper first molar tooth extrusion. Tooth loss leads to structural changes in the dental arch, so replacing the missing teeth as soon as possible is important. This can be achieved with the help of a fixed partial denture.Case: A 21-year-old female patient came to the Prosthodontic Department of UNIMUS RSGMP in May 2024, complaining of discomfort and chewing food difficulty, the patient also felt that her upper molars began to look elongated. The treatment results showed no complaints, good retention, stabilization and occlusion of the fixed partial denture. Conclusion: Fixed partial denture treatment with hygienic pontic in cases of extruded antagonistic teeth shows a good level of treatment success characterized by the absence of complaints of either a sense of blocking when chewing food or speaking, no signs of inflammation or trauma as well as good retention, stabilization, and occlusion of the fixed partial denture

Background: A popular medicinal plant in Indonesia, red shoot leaves (Syzygium myrtifolium Walp) have been extensively explored for their biological activity and potential to promote hard tissue healing in tooth sockets after extraction. However, few studies have examined this potential. Analyzing the impact of red leaf extract with different solvents on alveolar bone repair in the post-extraction socket in Wistar rats was the aim of this investigation.Method: This study aimed to determine differences in the healing process of bone after tooth extraction. Conducted on 15 male Wistar rats (12 weeks old, weighing 150 – 200 grams). The experiment includes three groups: Group A (5 animals received a gel base as a negative control group), Group B: (5 animals received 2% n-hexane gel treatment of red shoot leaves) and Group C (5 animals received 2% extract ethanol gel of red shoot leaves, based on designated observation days 30. The assessment involves bone remodeling area o from radiograph.Outcome: The average alveolar bone density varies greatly, as indicated by the study's p value of 0.000 (p < 0.005). The group that had 2% n-hexane gel treatment for red shoot leaves had the highest average alveolar bone density. According to the results of the phytochemical screening test, the n-hexane extract included triterpenoid and steroids, but the ethanol extract contained flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids. The findings of this study demonstrate that the use of solvents with varying polarity can have an impact on bone remodeling. Conclusion: The alveolar bone mineral density of Wistar rats following tooth extraction was increased by 2% n-hexane gel treatment of red shoot leaves

AI for All Voices: A Scoping Review on Inclusive Pronunciation and Speaking AI Tools

English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners often face challenges in developing speaking skills, including limited practice opportunities, pronunciation difficulties, and speaking anxiety. As artificial intelligence (AI) tools become more integrated into language education, they offer new ways to support speaking and pronunciation practice. However, multilingual and non-native learners remain underrepresented in developing and designing many of these tools. This scoping review examines how AI-assisted pronunciation technologies address inclusivity in EFL contexts, more specifically for multilingual learners. A total of 15 peer-reviewed articles published between 2021 and 2025 were retrieved from Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science. The findings show that AI tools generally enhance pronunciation accuracy, fluency, and learner motivation while offering personalized and flexible learning environments. Several tools also support affective inclusivity by reducing anxiety during speaking tasks. Yet, inclusivity is often a by- product rather than an intentional design goal. Persistent challenges include accent bias and a reliance on native-speaker training data, which can disadvantage multilingual learners. This review underscores the need for more inclusive and culturally responsive AI systems and provides a foundation for future research in equitable EFL pronunciation support

This research sets out to uncover EFL students' perceptions regarding oral feedback from their teachers and the contributing factors behind them. A three-week observation was conducted prior to the interviews were held to understand how feedback was incorporated into classroom instructions as formative assessment. One hundred thirty-three university students from several non-English majors in a State Islamic Institution in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, were observed. It was found that the students displayed different attitudes toward the feedback-related activities. Based on their attitudes, the students were categorized into two groups: high interest (HI) and low interest (LI). Representing both groups, seven students participated in the semi-structured interview to find the answer to two research questions: First, did HI students have different perceptions toward the teacher's oral feedback on their writing compared to the LI students? Second, what are the factors shaping their perceptions? The result showed that HI and LI students perceived oral feedback differently.  Although valuing the importance of receiving feedback, LI and HI students had distinctive ideas on the role it served to their writing. The distinct perceptions differed due to their motivation, anxiety, the teacher's personality, teacher’s ability to maintain good relationships with students, and the teacher's intonation and facial expressions while delivering the feedback
