Optimizing Quranic Literacy with the Tamam Method: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Handwritten Arabic Recognition
Indonesia, boasting the world\u27s largest Muslim population, has witnessed a swift augmentation in its Muslim demographic. As of 2020, Muslims in Indonesia numbered 209 million, which surged to 219 million in 2021. Such an observation is alarming, especially given the Quran\u27s centrality in Islamic teachings and the profound link between grasping its tenets and the capability to read and write its verses. This paper introduces an innovative application employing the Tamam method, optimized for enhancing Quranic literacy through the recognition of handwritten Arabic texts using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). Involving a cohort of 144 participants, who answered 65 questions, a dataset encompassing 3,842 data points was curated for testing and validation. Preliminary results showcased the model\u27s evolution, with a notable rise in accuracy from 14.27% in the initial epoch to 88.87% in the 20th epoch. Despite such advancements, fluctuations in the validation data hinted at potential overfitting scenarios. This study demonstrates the feasibility of integrating the Tamam method with AI-based handwritten Arabic recognition as a supportive tool for Quranic writing practice. It paves the way for more resilient and adaptive Quranic educational tools, ensuring learners grasp the Holy Text in its true essence
Whither Kampung Sawah Bekasi: A Model For Religious Moderation Practice?
This article examines the practice of religious moderation in Kampung Sawah, Bekasi, an area known for its high level of religious diversity and longstanding traditions of harmonious interfaith relations. Although the concept of religious moderation was formally introduced by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs only in recent years, this study finds that the community of Kampung Sawah has long embodied similar values in their everyday social practices. Using a descriptive-analytical method, the research identifies that the four key indicators of religious moderation—national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, and appreciation of local culture—are strongly reflected in the attitudes and behaviors of the community. These moderate orientations have emerged through a long socio-cultural process, shaped by value transmission within families and sustained interactions within the broader community. A central mechanism in this formation is the community’s consistent emphasis on shared identity and collective harmony over religious or cultural differences. The findings demonstrate that religious moderation can evolve organically through historical experience, cultural continuity, and community-based social relations
Contested Urban Futures: Spatial Politics and Urban Redevelopment in Jakarta, 2012-2022
This study examines the political dynamics and contentious aspects of urban redevelopment in Jakarta from 2012 to 2022. The research aims to analyze the production, negotiation, and contestation of the city\u27s spatial future by various actors, including the state, capital, and citizens, through regulatory planning, extensive infrastructure initiatives, and quotidian resistance practices. This study employs historical methods and urban historical analysis, utilizing primary sources including provincial spatial planning documents (RTRW, RPJMD), gubernatorial regulations, media archives, and court rulings concerning eviction disputes. Source criticism and interpretation were utilized to elucidate the interaction of modernization narratives, capital accumulation strategies, and community rights. The findings indicate that Jakarta\u27s urban transformation has been propelled by a confluence of top-down governmental policies and the real estate shift facilitating capital accumulation via Transit-Oriented Development projects, reclamation, and mega-infrastructure, alongside grassroots citizen resistance manifested through litigation, advocacy, and the co-production of alternative spaces. These processes generate a spatial arrangement marked by modernization and exacerbating socio-spatial inequality. The study concludes that Jakarta exemplifies contested urbanism, wherein the city functions not merely as a neutral vessel for development but as a political arena influenced by continuous conflicts, negotiations, and compromises. This research enhances global urban studies by providing a nuanced comprehension of spatial politics in the Global South and emphasizing the necessity for inclusive, participatory planning to guarantee that future urban transformations reconcile economic growth with social justice
DETERMINANTS OF ATTITUDE AND ADOPTION INTENTION OF ISLAMIC FINANCING IN TASIKMALAYA: A BEHAVIORAL INTENTION FRAMEWORK APPROACH
This study explores the determinants of Muslim entrepreneurs’ intention to adopt Islamic finance in Tasikmalaya using the extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). It examines the roles of religiosity, awareness, financial literacy, knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. A quantitative approach was applied, with purposive sampling of 250 respondents who had not previously adopted Islamic financing. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control significantly shape the intention to adopt Islamic finance. Mediation analysis further reveals that attitude mediates the effects of religiosity, awareness, and financial literacy on adoption intention, whereas knowledge shows no significant influence. These findings highlight that internal factors only foster adoption intention when translated into positive attitudes toward Islamic financial products. Theoretically, this study extends TPB by incorporating religiosity, awareness, and financial literacy as essential predictors. Practically, it suggests that Islamic financial institutions should strengthen financial literacy programs, emphasize religious values, and enhance awareness campaigns to build favorable attitudes and increase adoption. Although limited to one region and a cross-sectional design, the study lays a foundation for future research using longitudinal approaches and exploring additional variables such as trust and perceived risk

Menakar Ulang Besaran Persentase Ambang Batas Parlemen yang Konseptual di Indonesia
This research aims to provide legal certainty and a conceptual basis for determining the percentage threshold for parliamentary representation. (parliamentary threshold). The method used in this research is normative juridical (law-normative) relying on literature: books, journals, laws, Constitutional Court decisions, and the internet as the analytical tools in this study. Basically, Indonesia has quite a number of political parties. Viewed from the electoral contests from 1999 to the 2024 elections, according to Satori, Indonesia falls into the category of an extreme multi-party system. With an average of 5 or more relevant political parties in Parliament, this impacts government and political stability. Looking at its history, Indonesia has already responded to this and intends to simplify the party system in parliament. Starting from the implementation of the electoral threshold and parliamentary threshold, this is one of the government\u27s steps towards achieving a simple multiparty system. However, it becomes a problem when the threshold numbers, especially the parliamentary threshold, increase year by year, from 2.5%, 3%, to the current 4%. However, the attainment of these percentage figures lacks a conceptual basis, as they are merely the result of agreements between political parties. Therefore, this research discusses the formulation to obtain the ideal percentage figure using Taagepera\u27s theory, and the ideal figure in Indonesia according to Taagepera\u27s theory is 1%
