Internalizing Religious Moderation through Qur’an and Hadith Learning: A Case Study in Indonesian Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

    Get PDF
The growing need to strengthen religious moderation in Qur’an and Hadith learning requires contextual strategies that support character formation. This study aims to describe how teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah internalize moderation values and shape students’ moderate character. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed thematically with validation ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that teachers integrate values such as tolerance, justice, courtesy, and balanced religious understanding through relevant Qur’anic verses and hadiths, discussion-based activities that build critical thinking, and the use of interactive media. These values are reflected not only in students’ cognitive understanding but also in behaviors such as respecting differences, fairness, kindness, discipline, and responsibility. This study addresses gaps in previous research, which has been mainly theoretical, and provides practical implications for developing contextual Qur’an–Hadith learning models grounded in moderation principles

A SINTAKSIS NAHWU DALAM LINGUISTIK BAHASA ARAB KONTEMPORER

    No full text
This study examines syntax (nahwu) from the perspective of theoretical Arabic linguistics by positioning grammar not merely as a set of normative rules, but also as a scientific framework that explains the interrelation between form and meaning. The purpose of this research is to describe the concept of syntax in the classical Arabic tradition and to explore its relevance to modern linguistic theories. The study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach based on library research. Data were collected from national and international scholarly journal articles published between 2020 and 2025. The analysis was carried out through reduction, categorization, and interpretation to identify patterns of integration between classical syntax and modern linguistic approaches. The findings reveal that Arabic syntax is not only normative-prescriptive, but also possesses theoretical dimensions that can be integrated with modern linguistics, such as structuralism, generative grammar, and functionalism. Nahwu is shown to serve as a bridge between morphological and semantic aspects while functioning as an essential foundation in teaching, translation, and modern linguistic technologies, including natural language processing. Moreover, the dynamics of Arabic dialectal variation demonstrate the need for a more adaptive syntactic theory that responds to contemporary linguistic realities. Thus, this study affirms that Arabic syntax is a dynamic, adaptive, and relevant system, serving both to preserve the classical heritage and to address academic as well as practical needs in the modern era. Keywords: Arabic Language, Modern Linguistics, Theoretical Linguistics, Syntax.

    Get PDF
The relationship between the United States and Iran has long been marked by tensions, particularly over nuclear issues, economic sanctions, and regional conflicts. Under the Trump administration, these tensions escalated further, especially after the U.S. withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018. Trump\u27s rhetoric on social media reflected his administration’s hardline stance toward Iran, making it a critical subject of linguistic analysis. The study aimed to investigate the semantic preference and semantic prosody of the collocation of Iran in Trump’s social media. This research focuses on a corpus-based study of Trump’s social media posts, compiled exclusively from those made during his presidency, from January 2017 to January 2021. The corpus dataset of @realdonaldtrump was taken from the trumptweetarchiever.com site, official Facebook and Instagram accounts from January 2017 to January 2021, which were collected in the form of a text compilation with the date containing all tweets and posts related to the country of Iran, then what are the lexicogrammatical elements that accompany it, as well as semantic categories involved in the collocation of these words. Considering the results of the MI (mutual information) score, the single keyword Iran in Trump\u27s social media corpus tends to be associated with collocations related to the issue of economic sanctions, namely the nuclear deal. The results indicated that the keyword Iran carries a predominantly negative semantic preference, although not all keywords associated with Iran hold a positive meaning upon evaluating the concordance. The study concluded that Trump tends to portray the word Iran in a negative light

PHILOSOPHICAL SCIENCE FRAMEWORK SUPPORTING STRATEGIC INNOVATION TO IMPROVE PRIVATE UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT

    Get PDF
This study explores how the philosophy of science can serve as a rational foundation for strategic innovation in managing private universities in Indonesia. The research is driven by the observation that many innovation management policies in private universities remain largely technical and lack a reflective, philosophical basis. Using a systematic review of SINTA-indexed and international journal articles published between 2021 and 2025, this study examines how the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions of the philosophy of science relate to institutional innovation indicators such as intellectual property management, industry collaboration, and university governance. The findings show that the ontological dimension helps universities define research directions and institutional goals that align with academic realities. The epistemological dimension strengthens approaches to validating knowledge and advancing research outcomes, while the axiological dimension underlines the importance of accountability, collaboration, and ethical values in university management. Overall, this study highlights that incorporating philosophical perspectives into strategic innovation provides a rational and sustainable framework for improving the quality and competitiveness of private universities in Indonesia the findings indicate that the integration of the three dimensions of the philosophy of science provides both a rational and normative foundation for strategic innovation in private universities. The philosophy of science functions not only as a reflective theory but also as a conceptual framework that strengthens policy effectiveness, social legitimacy, and the sustainability of institutional innovation. Theoretically, this study contributes by proposing an integrative model that links the philosophical foundations of science with innovation performance indicators. Practically, it offers an evaluative instrument for university leaders to assess the alignment between institutional values and the strategic direction of innovation. Therefore, the philosophical approach to science serves as a rational foundation that ensures higher education innovation is systematic, sustainable, and oriented toward values

Effects of Fuel Subsidy Removal on Socioeconomic Status of the Inhabitants of Northeast Nigeria

    Get PDF
Subsidising fuel and other essential commodities that are unaffordable for the poor and disadvantaged is a component of social security and welfare policies in many countries. However, these subsidies come at a significant cost, consuming a large portion of budgets intended for infrastructure development. This has sparked debates about the feasibility of maintaining subsidies or abolishing them. Nigeria, one of the largest oil-producing countries in the world, has subsidised fuel for many decades to ensure affordability. However, allegations of corruption and concerns about the opportunity costs of subsidising fuel have raised issues, while projections of severe hardship following subsidy removal continue to warn policymakers. This study therefore examines the implications of subsidy removal in 2023 on the socioeconomic status of residents in Northeast Nigeria. Data were collected through multi-level cluster sampling using structured questionnaires and in-depth informant interviews with unstructured questionnaires, in addition to consulting existing documents. The collected data were discussed, analysed, and interpreted using statistical tools in non-automated SPSS and qualitative interview discussions. The study found that subsidy removal caused severe suffering and unprecedented hardship for the inhabitants of the Northeast. Therefore, the study recommends, among other measures, that the government should revise its haphazard subsidy removal and intensify social security transfers to the poor

Mapping Opinion Networks: An Interaction Network Analysis of Commenters on Narasi Newsroom\u27s "Weda Bay Nickel Downstreaming" YouTube Video

Indonesia is the world\u27s largest producer of nickel reserves. The government has implemented a nickel downstreaming policy to increase the added value of this commodity. One of the centres of nickel downstreaming is Weda Bay in North Maluku, which has recorded significant economic growth. Behind this financial success, nickel downstreaming has harmed social and environmental aspects. These impacts have triggered various responses from the community, many of which have been channelled through social media such as YouTube. This study analyses the network of public opinion in the comments section of the YouTube video “The Curse of Weda Bay Nickel Downstreaming (PART 1)” by Narasi Newsroom using the Social Network Analysis (SNA) method with Gephi 0.10 software and reviews negative, positive, and neutral sentiments using the Naïve Bayes model through Google Colab. The network analysis results show a diameter of 2, density of 0.000 (very low), and modularity of 0.838 (high), indicating that interactions between users are rare and that there are separate communities. Centrality measurements (degree, betweenness, closeness, and eigenvector) show @knowledgeid970 and @kadyrov12373 as the leading and most influential actors in the comment network. Naïve Bayes sentiment analysis shows that 52.49% of comments have negative sentiment, 26.45% are neutral, and only 21.06% are positive. The data needs to be balanced using SMOTE, and more accurate models need to be explored. Negative sentiment is dominated by concerns about environmental impacts such as deforestation, pollution, and pressure on clean water supplies due to nickel downstreaming

Can Muslim Communities Empower through Ethnic-based? A Case Study in Indonesia

    Get PDF
This study examines determinants and praxis of economic and social empowerment among Ethnics Muslim communities. It introduces the TENGKA model (Trust, Effort, Networking, Keeping, Active) as a culturally embedded framework for empowerment. Using an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design, the research identifies how physical capital, human capital, social capital, and the competence of empowerment actors shape empowerment outcomes. Empirical findings show that human capital, social capital, and actor competence significantly influence empowerment; local practices: aresan, sombhengan-bhelin, bhetonan, pesantren, madrasah, KOPWAN, lobenyu, posyandu, and PAMSIMAS, function as operational manifestations of social capital and Islamic-infused local wisdom. The paper advances the theoretical contribution by explicitly linking the TENGKA components to Islamic intellectual heritage (Qur\u27anic injunctions, Prophetic hadith, and classical and contemporary scholarship), and situates TENGKA alongside ACTORS and Ibn Khaldun’s ashabiyah to highlight complementarities and differences. We discuss transferability to other Muslim communities and propose practical implications for policy design and community-based interventions. The study contributes empirically and theoretically to scholarship on Islamic community empowerment and offers an operational model for culturally sensitive programs

Islamic Political Thought and The Crisis of Global Governance: Towards a Non-Western Theory of Order

    Get PDF
Contemporary global politics is increasingly marked by rising geopolitical tensions, fragile institutions, deepening inequality, and declining trust in international systems. Traditional Western models of governance, rooted in sovereignty and liberal internationalism, often fall short in responding to these challenges. This paper rethinks the global order through Islamic political thought, offering insights toward a more inclusive and resilient future. Islamic concepts provide distinctive perspectives on order, justice, and collective responsibility that move beyond the nation-state. Tawhid emphasizes the unity of God and the interconnectedness of creation, grounding universal ethics and accountability. Khilafah/Istikhlaf frames humanity as stewards entrusted with protecting the earth and safeguarding future generations. Maslaha (public interest) and Maqasid al-Shari’ah (higher objectives of Islamic law) operate as flexible tools to promote welfare. Shura (consultative governance) strengthens dialogue and legitimacy across borders, while the Ummah (moral community) inspires transnational solidarity. At the heart of these principles, Adl (justice) remains the foundation of any fair and legitimate system. This study employs a qualitative approach based on secondary literature, drawing from classical texts and contemporary scholarship. Findings reveal that Islamic ideas reframe sovereignty as responsibility, root legitimacy in justice, and offer ethical tools to address structural weaknesses in global governance. Far from advocating theocracy, the paper highlights Islamic thought as a resource for building a pluralistic global order and strengthening dialogue across civilizations

Konstitusi Rigid dan Fleksibel: Analisis Komparatif dalam Sistem Civil Law dan Common Law

This study examines the implications of constitutional flexibility on governance using a comparative law method with a normative-historical approach. The focus is on comparing rigid and flexible constitutions in Civil Law and Common Law systems, along with case studies of amendments to Indonesia’s 1945 Constitution and constitutional reforms in the United Kingdom. Findings indicate that rigid constitutions provide political stability and legal certainty but adapt slowly to socio-political changes, whereas flexible constitutions allow rapid adaptation, though they may pose potential legal instability if not properly controlled. The study highlights the importance of balancing stability and flexibility through selective reforms, checks and balances, and public participation. These findings offer recommendations for lawmakers and policymakers to adjust amendment mechanisms to maintain equilibrium between stability and adaptabilit
