Combining machine learning with seasonal-trend decomposition using LOESS in Power BI
Time series analysis has been extensively used for forecasting in various industries. A method frequently used for decomposition of time series is Seasonal-Trend decomposition using LOESS (STL). In combination with the machine learning approaches, STL is a helpful method to analyze the seasonal-trend structure of complicated time series. This hybrid approach helps interpret seasonality, trends, and other residual patterns better than when using only predictive machine learning models. The explanation and interpretation of the models can be effectively implemented in the context of Business Intelligence and analytical platforms. In the current paper, a practical approach involving the integration of STL with Random Forest regressor in Power BI has been proposed. It is evidenced from the results that integration of STL decomposition with machine learning provides a robust analytical tool and this allows user to perform a sophisticated time series forecasts right within the engaged interactive dashboards

The all-weather port terminal as a tool for improving the sustainable port profile
Ports are among the objects that are most threatened by extreme weather events, which are becoming more frequent and intense due to climate change. Consequently, they face a number of risks: physical, transition to a sustainable economy, and systemic, which can cause huge losses (financial and non-financial) for the stakeholders involved–terminal operators, shipping companies, entities in supply chains, and local communities. In this regard, this study aims to justify the construction and operation of all-weather port terminals as innovative infrastructure facilities that not only modernize port infrastructure but also improve the sustainable profile of ports. To achieve this objective, multiple scientific approaches have been applied, such as surveys of information sources, retrospection and forecasting, analysis and synthesis, case studies, observation methods, deduction, proof, and generalization. As a result, it is concluded that the operation of an all-weather port terminal realizes, in addition to its main purpose of carrying out quality, reliable, and safe handling operations, the expectations of society in achieving the economic, environmental, and social goals of sustainability
Advanced understanding of the role of leadership style in successful management in the health sector
Many experts and process researchers in the health sector believe that the primary factor distinguishing a successful health organization from an unsuccessful one is dynamic and effective leadership. There is no ideal management style, as each has its own advantages and disadvantages. In fact, successful managers with strong leadership skills use a combination of management styles, adapting to the situation at hand to maximize their effectiveness in managing employee relations. This depends on the manager's educational level and organizational culture
Epidemiological aspects of anthrax in Northeastern Bulgaria
Introduction: Northeastern Bulgaria is a territory where the climatic, geographic, and economic features facilitate the spread of the anthrax infection.Aim: The aim of the current study is to establish the epidemiological characteristics of anthrax in this region and to reveal the officially registered anthrax cases for the period 1985–2018.Materials and Methods: A retrospective epidemiological analysis of the nationwide data from 1926 was performed with a focused investigation on the anthrax cases in Northeastern Bulgaria from 1985 to 2018. Results and Discussion: The retrospective epizootiological analysis shows that in the 1950s anthrax-affected settlements in Bulgaria were 2 253 (42.5%). In the subsequent decades, the number of active stationary anthrax foci decreased more than 13 times. Presently, the most epizootically intensive regions are located in Northeastern Bulgaria. From 1985 to 2018, most of the anthrax-affected settlements were in the Shumen, Silistra, Varna, and Targovishte regions. The most diseased animals are found in the Varna and Shumen regions, and the majority of people with anthrax are in the Dobrich and Silistra regions. The anthrax problem has existed and still exists in many settlements of Northeastern Bulgaria. Conclusion: Although the number of anthrax cases has declined significantly over the last decades, continuing anthrax activity can be expected. We must improve the current interdisciplinary approach between the different structures (veterinarians, epidemiologists, food safety and public health experts) to minimize the anthrax threat to humans and animals alike.
The role of medicinal products and medical devices classification systems in patient therapy management in hospitals
Medicines classification is particularly important in hospital practice as it provides structured and standardized information to support clinical decision-making and the management of hospital therapy. Coding of drugs and medical devices is a fundamental aspect of health information management that provides standardization, facilitates communication between health professionals, and improves the management of drug and medical resources. There are different coding systems that classify medicines and medical devices based on various criteria such as chemical composition, therapeutic use, and risk level. Their review aims to extract the characteristics of drug classification systems and identify their main applications in drug management processes
Overview of the historical development and analysis of the stages of introduction of clinical pharmacy in Bulgaria
In recent years, there has been a dynamic shift in the pharmaceutical profession towards a more clinical orientation. From a focus on the drug as an object of the pharmaceutical system and its action, there was a smooth transition to optimizing therapy through the rational use of medicines. Thus, the individual characteristics of the patient are the leading factors in the choice and management of pharmacotherapy. Clinical pharmacy is a scientific, educational, and professional field that combines the provision of services by pharmacists to patients and other medical professionals. Many sources suggest that clinical pharmacy originated in the United States of America (USA) between 1944 and 1946, although there is evidence of earlier activity. From then on, a chain of events began that gave real meaning to the modern pharmaceutical profession. There have been few attempts to map the historical evolution of clinical pharmacy in Europe, but not in Bulgaria. This is important because clinical pharmacy is considered an essential prerequisite for the advancement of pharmaceutical care—the latest achievement of pharmaceutical science. In Bulgaria, over the last ten years, clinical pharmacy has seen rapid development. Many changes have been made to legislation relating to clinical pharmacists, clinical pharmacy services, and the practice of the profession in hospital care settings. As a first attempt to scientifically track and analyze the development of clinical pharmacy in Bulgaria, it is important to evaluate what has been done in order to outline the steps and direction for its further consolidation and development in the country. Therefore, our research will try to describe and analyze the main stages of the development of clinical pharmacy in Bulgaria to better understand the processes that take place in modern pharmaceutical practice
