Economic and Social Deficiency: Their Influence on Students’ Academic Performance
This study ascertained to find out relationship between economic and social deficiency and their influence on education students’ academic performance at West Visayas State University-Janiuay Campus, School Year 2014-2015. The descriptive-correlational method was used with academic performance as dependent variable and economic and social deficiency as independent variables. The participants were the 266 students selected through stratified random sampling. Data were gathered through questionnaire-checklist and Grade Point Average. The statistical tools used were frequency, rank, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson's r computed through SPSS. The results show that the top three predominant economic deficiencies are inability to join in school activities; inability to pay for photocopy of hand outs and other reference materials; inability to spend any amount for snacks/lunch. Likewise, the top three most social deficiencies are understanding community norms; having social perception, making choices and self- monitoring; perceiving how others are feeling and sharing empathy. Further, education students have a “moderate extent” social deficiency and the overall performance was “very good”. Moreover, a negative correlation but no significant relationship existed between economic and social deficiency and between social deficiency and academic performance. The economic deficiency and academic performance revealed a positive and no significant relationship.
The Ambidextrous Effects of Path Dependence
The research idea of this study is to explore the ambidextrous effects of self-reinforcing mechanisms on organizational path dependence. In this paper, we present a conceptual model based on the duration of R&D intensity: the longer a firm maintains its R&D intensity, the more it will engage in diversification. In addition, we apply the effects of R&D intensity duration to the organizational slack effect. When a firm‟s level of organizational slack is high and is combined with duration of R&D intensity, it will create the explorative learning capability of the firm. On the contrary, if a firm‟s level of organizational slack is low and is combined with duration of R&D intensity, it will create the lock-in path of the firm. We can apply this idea to both the explorative learning capability and the lock-in path via the type of firm‟s diversification. The explorative learning capability tends to be coupled with the unrelated diversification, whereas the lock-in path tends to be coupled with related diversification
Ethnobotanical Study of Traditional Medicinal Plants Used by the Santal Tribal Practitioners at the Village Jamtala of Chapai Nawabganj District, Bangladesh
Ethnobotanical study of traditional medicinal plants used by the Santal tribal practitioners at the village Jamtala of Chapai Nawabganj district, Bangladesh was recorded. Frequent field trips were made during July 2013 to June 2015 to record ethno-medicinal data by interviewing Santal tribal practitioners of various age groups, mostly ranging between 22 to 84 years, including medicinal healers (herbalists/hakims). A total of 146 plant species under 126 genera of 64 families have been documented which are used for the treatment of 102 categories aliments/diseases. Out of these plants species, 59 belonged to herbs, 45 trees, 24 shrubs, and 18 climbers. In majority cases, leaves of the medicinal plants were found leading in terms of their use followed by 29.80% fruits, 36.42% roots, 19.20% bark, 24.50% whole plant, 9.93% stem, 2.65% latex, 1.32% bulb, 10.60% rhizomes, 9.27% seed, 4.63% gum, 1.32 % leaf stalks,1.32% petiole, 9.93% flower, 2.65% juice, 1.99% cotton, 0.67% pericarp, 2.65% young buds, 0.67% pods, 1.32% grain, 0.67% central tender part. For each species scientific name, local name, habit, family, ailments to be treated, mode of treatment and part(s) used are documented. Collected information depicts that Santal tribes largely depend on medicinal plants to meet their primary health care needs
The Signed Domination Number of Cartesian Products of Directed Cycles
Let D be a finite simple directed graph with vertex set V(D) and arc set A(D). A function is called a signed dominating function (SDF) iffor each vertex v. The weight w(f ) of f is defined by. The signed domination number of a digraph D is gs(D) = min{w(f ) : f is an SDF of D}. Let Cmn denotes the Cartesian product of directed cycles of length m and n. In this paper, we determine the exact value of signed domination number of some classes of Cartesian product of directed cycles. In particular, we prove that: (a) gs(C3n) = n if n 0(mod 3), otherwise gs(C3n) = n + 2. (b) gs(C4n) = 2n. (c) gs(C5n) = 2n if n 0(mod 10), gs(C5n) = 2n + 1 if n 3, 5, 7(mod 10), gs(C5n) = 2n + 2 if n 2, 4, 6, 8(mod 10), gs(C5n) = 2n + 3 if n 1,9(mod 10). (d) gs(C6n) = 2n if n 0(mod 3), otherwise gs(C6n) = 2n + 4. (e) gs(C7n) = 3n
Pseudo C-M-Injective and Pseudo C-Quasi Principally Injective Systems Over Monoids
In this paper, the concepts of pseudo C-quasi injective and pseudo C-quasi principally injective systems over monoids are introduced which represents generalizations of quasi injective and quasi principally injective respectively. Characterization of these concepts are given . At the same time some properties of pseudo C-quasi principally injective systems are studied in terms of their endomorphism monoid. Relate the conceptsof Hopfian , co-Hopfianand directly finite with pseudo C-quasi injective systems over monoids. Conditions are investigated under which subsystems are inheritpseudo C-quasi principally injective and pseudo C-quasi injective. The relationship among the class of pseudo C-quasi injective and pseudo C-quasi principally injective systems with some generalizations of injectivity (such as extending and continuous systems ) are considered
On Centralizing and Generalized Derivations Of prime Rings with involution
Let (R,∗) be a 2-torsion free ∗-prime ring with involution ∗, L= 0 be a nonzero square closed ∗-Lie ideal of R and Z the center of R. An additive mapping F: R −→ R is called a generalized derivation on R if there exists a derivation d: R−→Rcommutes with ∗ such that F(xy) = F(x)y +xd(y) holds for all x,y ∈ R. In the present paper, we shall show that L is contained in the center of R such that R admits a generalized derivations F and G with associated derivations d and g commute with ∗ satisfying several conditions
The New Generalized Difference of χ2 over p- metric spaces defined by Musielak Orlicz function
We introduce newsequence spaces by using Musielak-Orlicz function and a generalized Bµ η -difference operator on p−metric space. Some topological properties are studied
Seasonal Wilderness Identification System using Remote Sensing Techniques : Riyadh Region as a Case Study
Seasonal wilderness areas are those which turns temporarily into vegetation after the raining season. Most Saudi families love to visit seasonal wilderness areas to spend few days outside their congested cities. The only way to find such areas which has more vegetation than others is by asking friends, relatives or finding them by accident. Some areas remain unknown until the temporal greenery disappears and they become part of the desert. This research proposes a dynamic method of identifying seasonal wilderness areas using the techniques of GIS and remote sensing. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) technology with a proper change detection technique is applied to classify the seasonal greenery areas with other non seasonal ones like farms or others permanent vegetated lands

Relationship Between Earnings and Cash Flow in Estimating Cash Flows: Evidence from Listed Nigerian Banks
This study examines the relationship between earnings and cash flow in estimating future cash flows of firms in Nigeria. The source of data collection is secondary data source which comprises of twenty-one (21) commercial banks listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange for the period of 2004-2013. The Ordinary Least Square technique was used in testing the hypothesis. The result of the analysis found a positive and significant relationship among future cash flows, past earnings, traditional measure of cash flows and current working capital of the observed firms. It was found that the obtained models were statistical adequate in estimating future cash flow of the firms. Hence, it was recommended among others that the regulatory authorities of accounting and capital market operations in Nigeria should encourage companies to set-up a cash flow system that will encourage the investing public to avail themselves of financial risk capable of jeopardizing their investment. This is expected to detail information on the financial performance of the company to enable investors make effective investment decisions.
