    Get PDF
During the post-colonial period, literature has crossed the boundaries of nation, language, and culture. An important feature of the period is the emergence of woman writers. Significant space has been created for women to discuss their peculiar problems and issues. The social, cultural, and literary definitions accumulated over the past by the patriarchal tradition were redefined from alternate and, especially, from feminist or womanist points of view. With more and more women taking part in the public life and the steady increase in the number of independent women, there is a significant rise in women’s writings across the globe. The paper entitled “Transnationalism and Women: A Study of Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Bharati Mukherjee, and Anita Rau Badami” discusses how three prominent woman writers of the Diaspora deal with problems of the transnational women

The purpose of this research work was to investigate the larvicidal activities of Aster 20SP against Culex pipiens and biological effect of this compound. The larvicidal activities of Aster 20SP were tested against the third and fourth instar larvae of Culex pipiens, the mortality was observed after 24h post the treatment. The data were subjected to probit analysis to determine the lethal concentration (LC50 and LC90). The obtained results show a high mortality with the increase in the concentration, at third stage, larval mortality increased from 18.23 % at 0.7 mg /L to 45.16 % at 3mg /L in direct effect. The LC50 and LC90 were measured as 3.61 and 5.16 mg/L respectively. Cumulate mortality increased from 35.30 to 54.34% at 0.7mg/L and 3mg/L respectively. The LC50 and LC90 were 3.38 and 4.68mg/L respectively. At fourth stage, larval mortality increased from 5.50 % at 0.7 mg /L to 19.29 % at 3 mg /L in direct effect, the LC50 and LC90 was 4.34 and 6.52 mg/L respectively. In indirect effect, the mortality increased from 9.16% to 30.80% at 0.7mg/L and 3mg/L respectively, the LC50 and LC90 was 4 and 5.87 mg/L respectively.  The results indicated the larvae duration increased with the increased in the concentration. In contrast, in adult stage, the results indicated high reduction in fecundity. It was concluded from this study that Aster 20SP as a potential pesticide to control the larvae stage of mosquito Culex pipiens

The Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Aspects of the Electrodynamic Vacuum-Field Theory Models

    Get PDF
The  important classical  Ampère’s and Lorentz laws derivations  are revisited and their relationships with  the modern vacuum field theory approach to modern relativistic electrodynamics are demonstrated.  The relativistic models of the vacuum field medium and charged point particle dynamics as well as  related classical electrodynamics problems  jointly with the fundamental principles, characterizing the electrodynamical vacuum-field structure,  based on  the developed field theory concepts are reviewed and analyzed detail. There is also described a new approach to the classical Maxwell theory based on the derived and newly interpreted basic equations making use of the vacuum field theory approach. There are obtained the main classical special relativity theory relationships and their new explanations. The well known Feynman approach to Maxwell electromagnetic equations and the Lorentz type force derivation is also. A related charged point particle dynamics and a hadronic string model analysis is also presented. We also revisited and reanalyzed the classical Lorentz force expression in arbitrary non-inertial reference frames and present some new interpretations of the relations between special relativity theory and its quantum mechanical aspects. Some results related with the charge particle radiation problem and the magnetic potential topological aspects are discussed. The electromagnetic Dirac-Fock-Podolsky problem of the Maxwell and Yang-Mills type dynamical systems is analyzed within the classical Dirac-Marsden-Weinstein symplectic reduction theory. Based on the Gelfand-Vilenkin representation theory of infinite dimensional groups and the Goldin-Menikoff-Sharp theory of generating Bogolubov type functionals the problem of constructing Fock type representations and retrieving their creation-annihilation operator structure is analyzed. An application of the suitable current algebra representation to describing the non-relativistic Aharonov-Bohm paradox is demonstrated. The current algebra coherent functional representations are constructed and their importance subject to the linearization problem of nonlinear dynamical systems in Hilbert spaces is also presented

    Get PDF
As for as long have been supply chains, there have been disruptions. But only a few years ago supply chain disruptions begun to receive special attention due the increasing vulnerability of the modern supply chains. For many companies, it is of vital importance to handle supply chain disruptions.  They have established different robust supply chain strategies to overcome supply chain disruptions like postponement, strategic stock, flexible supply base and many others. This research is focused in the Albanian milk processing industry and its aim is twofold: first, to understand the main sources and consequences of supply chain disruptions and second, to analyze the strategies used by the companies to handle the disruption. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the managers of the main milk processing companies. A guide questionnaire was prepared.  The questionnaire had two main parts. The aim of the first part was to identify the sources and consequences of supply chain disruptions while the aim of the second part was to identify the strategies used by the companies to handle the disruptions occurred. The research will show that the best strategy for handling supply chain disruptions is a combination of resilience and robust strategies. The first step for handling successfully supply chain disruptions is being prepared, by increasing the resilience of the supply chains. Being prepared, it is always necessary but it might not be enough. The strategies and actions implemented by the companies after the disruption occurred, define their success in handling the supply chain disruption

    Get PDF
In the health sector, the hospital management’s main and important problem that they come across is the 24 hour shift planning for the service personnel. With a good shift plan, the personnel’s work load is optimized and their work productivity will be provided and when the monthly shift schedule is prepared, the uncertainty and confusion will be overcome.  In this study, the blood bank centre nurses scheduling problem is taken into hands in a university hospital where the service is given 7 days, 24 hours, and the daily working hours are between 08.00-16.00 and 16.00-08.00, and the personnel work 40 hours a week. An optimized complex goal programming model is suggested by taking into consideration the centres working hours and the personnel’s leave situation. The main purpose of this suggested model is to determine how to minimize the deviations of the nurses’ day and night shifts. It has been seen with the application of the model the optimum shift schedule, compared to the previous hospital managements schedule was obtained, workload is more effectively planned, objective planning of the shifts schedule and a balanced work load have achieved
