Computerized Measurement and Control System of the Universal Testing Machine Based On Virtual Instruments
The measurement and control system of the universal testing machine was carried on the data acquisition and processing and realized the closed-loop control of the actuators. This is a complete automated test platform of computer measurement and control technology. The electronic universal testing machine control system was designed and realized basing on the analysis of the related technologies and requirements. The system solves the determination of mechanical properties of materials such as tensile, elongation, force, deformation and displacement of essentially all metallic and non-metallic materials and it assumes good performance. This study has presented test results of six different materials specimens namely: plastic strip (fiber-reinforced polymer), brick masonry, floor tile, chamois leather bag, polyethylene polymer and polystyrene foam. The system uses a user-friendly dialog, it automatically measures material specimen, it compares the results with the standard national values and it can pass or reject unwanted materials. The measurement and control software for the host computer and electronic drive control system of electronic universal testing machine was realized by LabWindows/CVI software development platform. The user-interface provides features for the complete real-time measurement, control, data processing, output results display, report printing and other functions. Practice has proved that, under normal circumstances the system operation is stable and reliable, real-time data acquisition precision has reached the expected requirements as well as making system maintenance to be convenient and flexible
Does the Growth of R&D Promote the TFP Increasing — Empirical Analysis Based on 22 industrial sectors of China
By using the panel data of the 22 industries from 2006~2012,the research shows that large R&D investment scale didn’t bring the fast increase of TFP as expected in China. In order to analyze the reason of this contradiction, this paper made the game model of division of labor between the upper and lower reaches of the industries to analyze the influence of human capital and vertical specialization to TFP. Then the paper use system GMM to make empirical analysis to inspect the game model. The results show that human capital does not help increasing allocative efficiency of R&D and vertical specialization does not promote the increase of TFP
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Governance: The Case of MENA
Is there a relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and governance practiced in a given country? To answer this question we used the econometrics of panel data for the MENA region (11 countries) during the period 1996-2014. The results of the econometric estimation show seven variables that are statistically significant, namely the Gross Domestic Product (economic risk variable), the current account balance as% of GDP (economic risk variable), the domestic investment rate (economic risk variable), external debt (financial risk variable), the debt service as percentage of exports (financial risk variable), the functioning of the state (variable governance) and corruption (governance variable). While different parts of the world are competing to further attract FDI, countries in the MENA region need to conduct adequate policies oriented towards improving the business climate and good governance to benefit from these funding streams deemed less expensive
Macro-Economic Variables and Their Impact on Stock Exchange: A Study of Pakistan (KSE 100 Index)
This study examines the relationship between the Karachi stock exchange and macro-economic variables. Monthly data for the time period July 2005 to April 2014 has been considered. CPI, FX, GDP, INT, Gold prices and oil prices in Pakistan are chosen as the macroeconomic variables. Unit root tests, Johansen and Juselius 1990 Cointegration, long & Short term granger causality under VECM framework along with the Sims 1980 variance decomposition and Pulse impulse response function has been employed. The analysis suggest that there is the long run cointegration among the variables and KSE and all the variables granger cause the KSE 100 index in the long run whereas in short run only forex granger cause KSE. An interesting finding is the significant explanation of variance in KSE 100 Index by the oil prices in Pakistan and the adverse response of the KSE on the one standard deviation shock to the oil prices
The Effect of Ownership Concentration on the Performance of Nigerian Banking Industries, An Empirical Investigation
This study investigated the effect of ownership concentration on the performance of the Nigerian banking sector for the period of 2008 to 2014.The study employed a sample of 5 major commercial banks in Nigeria selected on the bases of size. The data for the study was generated from the annual report of each of the banks under study for the period covered. We employed pooled panel data regression analysis to empirically evaluate the data. Both accounting and market based performance were employed with ROA and ROE as the key variable to proxy accounting based performance while EVA were used for market based performance. The result of the pooled panel data analysis reveals that ownership concentration has positive but insignificant effect on both the accounting and market based performance measures employed in the model. On the same vain, firm size which was used as a control variable has a positive and significant effect on both accounting and market based measure of banks performance. We therefor recommend that as concentrated owners seek to increase their interest, appropriate legal and control measures should be put in place to ensure that major owners don’t control the banks to their own advantage and to the expense of minority shareholders and the public at large
Generalized *⊕Z* Supplemented Modules and Generalized*⊕ Co-finitely Supplemented Modules
Let R be a commutative ring with identity, an R-module M is called G*⊕ Z* supplemented modules, if every sub module containing Z*(M) has generalized* supplement in M that is a direct summand of M . and an R-module M is called generalized*co-finitely supplemented, if every co-finite has sub module of M has a generalized* supplement in M. and M is called ⊕ co- finitely generalized* supplemented , if every co- finite sub module of M has G*S that is direct summand of M
A comparative effectiveness of stochastic approximation method and pseudo inversion method for solution to PDE with financial application
This paper presents a comparative effectiveness of stochastic approximation method and pseudo inversion method for American option valuation under the Black-Scholes model. The stochastic approximation method and pseudo inversion method base its analysis on a drifted financial derivative system. With finer discretization, space nodes and time nodes, we demonstrate that the drifted financial derivative system can be efficiently and easily solved with high accuracy, by using a stochastic approximation method and pseudo inversion method. The stochastic approximation method proves to be faster in pricing an American options than the pseudo inversion method which needs the system to be stabilized for its accuracy. An illustrative example is given in concrete setting
On some generalizations of (n,m)- normal powers operators on Hilbert space
Recall that an operator ∈ () is called (, ) -normal powers operator if and only if ( )∗ = ( )∗ for some nonnegative integers and m. Throughout this paper, we introduce some types of generalizations of (, ) -normal powers operators and study some of them properties
Collocation Method to Solve Elliptic Equations, Bivariate Poly-Sinc Approximation
The paper proposes a collocation method to solve bivariate elliptic partial differential equations. The method uses Lagrange approximation based on Sinc point collocations. The proposed approximation is collocating on non-equidistant interpolation points generated by conformal maps, called Sinc points. We prove the upper bound of the error for the bivariate Lagrange approximation at these Sinc points. Then we define a collocation algorithm using this approximation to solve elliptic PDEs. We verify the Poly-Sinc technique for different elliptic equations and compare the approximate solutions with exact solutions
On Pseudo Fuzzy Length Space and Quotient of Fuzzy Length Space
In this paper we recall the definition of fuzzy length space on a fuzzy set after that we recall basic definitions and properties of this space. Then we introduce the notion pseudo fuzzy length space on a fuzzy set to prove that the fuzzy completion of pseudo fuzzy length is a fuzzy length space. Finally we defined the quotient of a fuzzy length space then we defined the fuzzy length to the quotient space
