Zeolite H-ZSM-5: an Efficient and Reusable Catalyst for One-Pot Synthesis of Amidoalkyl Naphthols under Solvent-Free Conditions
Zeolites have been used as an excellent and highly efficient catalyst for one-pot synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthols. This route involves multicomponent reaction of 2-napthol, various aromatic aldhydes and amide in presence of catalyst Zeolite H-ZSM-5 under solvent free condition. The synthesized Zeolite was characterized by XRD, FTIR and SEM. The products were characterized by FTIR and 1H-NMR. The method involves shorter reaction time, simple procedure, easy workup and the products are obtained in excellent yield
The Impact of Compost on the Growth of the Yield and Economic Value of Tomato in the Greenhouse
Tomato has a very important value both in nutrition and economics. Therefore, tomato cultivation is of great importance when considering these two factors.Kosovo has a tradition and potential for cultivating this vegetable. In Kosovo in open nature, tomato picking begins in late June through September; while in other months it is cultivated in the evening. Nutrient feed targets (ppm) for greenhouse tomatoes in sawdust: Nitrogen 200 ppm, Potassium 300 ppm, Calcium 200 ppm, Phophorus 55.This paper deals with the use of 2 kg of root compost, where yields will be satisfactory. Variety Greenhouse 761, average 3.5 kg per plant. Average number of fruit per plant 12, 0. Average grams per fruit 280 gr.This greenhouse – loving hybrid tomato produces fruit perfect for silicing and generally is ready to harvest about 75 days after seeds germinate. The use of carbon dioxide (CO2) supplementation has the potential to increase the yields of a skilled grower who now attains between 55 to 60 kg/m2 , up to 70 kg/m2
The relationship between Institution Branding, Teaching Quality and Student Satisfaction in Higher Education in Hong Kong
The rapid expansion of Hong Kong’s higher education sector both in the government-funded and self-funded higher education in Hong Kong generated a high competition in this industry. In order to study how institutions increase their competitiveness, this study investigated the relationship between the institution branding, teaching quality and student satisfaction. A quantitative research was conducted to empirically test three hypotheses by employing a questionnaire survey. As the primary customers of higher education, full-time students enrolled in post-secondary programs offered by government-funded and self-funded higher education institutions in Hong Kong were randomly selected as the targeted participants. Two thousand students were sent questionnaires and 1,170 valid responses were received, representing a response rate of 58.5%. Results of the analysis show that the teaching quality has a positive and significant influence on institution branding, institution branding has a positive and significant influence on student satisfaction whilst the mediating effect of institution branding is only considered as a partial mediation between teaching quality and student satisfaction. The study contributes to the higher education debate and provides unique student-perceived insights into institution branding, student satisfaction and the quality of teaching in Hong Kong’s higher education sector.
THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL MARKETING COMMUNICATION ON CONDOM USE AMONG FEMALE SEX WORKERS IN RWANDA
The study examined the influence of social marketing communication (SMC) on condom use among Female Sex Workers (FSWs) in Rwanda using the case study of Society for Family Health (SFH) Rwanda. The two study objectives included; to examine the effect of message framing on condom use among female sex workers in Rwanda and to assess the influence of communication channels on the use of condoms by female sex workers in Rwanda. The study used a descriptive case study design methodology with purposive and random sampling techniques. A 5 point likert scale questionnaire was utilized for data collection. The data was analyzed by way of SPSS 20 using descriptive analysis and inferential techniques particularly Pearson correlation analysis to determine how variables influenced each other. Findings reveal that message framing strongly and positively influence condom use among FSWs in Rwanda. Thus, the use of positive message framing that focuses on the benefits of condom use among FSWs significantly increases condom use. Communication channels were also found to positively and significantly influence condom use among FSWs in Rwanda particularly the use of peer to peer campaigns and mass media (Radio and TV) . E-Queue Mobile Application: Empirical Study in Malaysia UTAR University
Waiting in line is a common experience in daily life, whether for a table at a popular restaurant or for the service at a bank. This experience is not always pleasant for most of people because they always have to wait for a long time to be serviced. The ability to interact with waiting customers is highly desirable because it allows businesses the opportunity to optimize their existing services and offer new services to waiting customers. However, interacting with individuals waiting in a queue has been inefficient and costly because employees must either talk with each waiting customer on an ongoing basis or the business must provide high tech devices that interact with each waiting customer. Agile methodology which will be used to develop this application, it incorporates the SDLC phases starting from the Planning phase up to the Maintenance phase. End of the research, we found that majority of respondents are prefer to use the proposed system compared with current method
CEO and Corporate Governance: A Comparative Study in France, Germany and USA
Corporate governance broadly refers to the mechanisms, processes and relations by which corporations are controlled and directed. Governance structures and principles identify the distribution of rights and responsibilities among different participants in the corporation (such as the board of directors, managers, shareholders, creditors, auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders) and include the rules and procedures for making decisions in corporate affairs. In France, the governance of an SA (société anonyme) can be organised as a unitary or a dual structure.Unitary structure is the most widely-used structure that consists of a board of directors (conseil d'administration), headed by a chairman and a chief executive officer (CEO) (directeur général) who runs the company. Both positions can be held by the same individual. Dual Structure consists of a management board (directoire) composed of up to five members running the company, and a supervisory board (conseil de surveillance) that oversees the management board. The management board's members and its chairman are appointed and dismissed by the supervisory board, whose members are appointed by the shareholders. In German corporate governance, a Vorstand is the executive board of a corporation (public limited company). It is hierarchically subordinate to the supervisory board (Aufsichtsrat), as German company law imposes a two-tier board of directors.German law confers executive powers on the executive board as a body. It is expected to act collectively and collegially. Unlike the executive committee (aka operating committee or executive council) of a US company, the executive board is not an adjunct of the CEO (managing director). The German executive board has real decision-making power. It is, by law, the managing body of a company and cannot be instructed by any legal person, be they natural or artificial, to act in such a way as to harm the business. Executive board members are personally liable for accepting any such instructions. The US system of corporate governance offers CEOs a great deal of power to influence. According to the US system, CEOs are powerful because of their dual role as chairman of the board
