Spatial curvature as a distorted mapping of Euclidean space

    Get PDF
The article makes an attempt to understand the essence of the curvature of space-time in general relativity. To clarify the physical meaning, a mapping method is used, based on the analogy with the philosophical categories “phenomenon-essence-observer”. It is shown that curvilinear space can exist only inside the Euclidean space. It is also shown that the interpretation of the phenomenon called the “Big Bang” is incorrect

The impact from social capital of university on the cultivation of student quality

    Get PDF
students' quality is the core competitiveness of universities, and the cultivation of students' quality not only depends on the school's teaching and research level, but also on the university’s social capital. In this paper, Social capital of university is classified into structural social capital, relation social capital and cognitive social capital. These points are put forward which structural social capital influences the cultivation of student by providing social practice opportunity, relationship social capital affecting it by these activities organized by student organization, cognitive social capital influencing it through the culture of universities

BLUE OCEAN STRATEGY AS A PREDICTOR FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE OF THE MEDIUM-SIZED AND LARGE BUSINESSES

    Get PDF
Constant new value innovations to create new values and improve the features of existing products and services are a prerequisite for effective performance in the increasingly competitive South African marketplace. This research study used a case study evaluation of the effectiveness of the application of Blue Ocean strategies by medium-sized and large businesses in Pretoria. The motive of the study was to identify major inhibitors and suitable remedial business strategies that can be adopted to improve the application of Blue Ocean strategies. The study was qualitative, using a sample of 20 participants comprising of managers drawn from medium-sized and large businesses in Pretoria. Thematic analysis of the findings revealed that some of the motivators for the application of the Blue Ocean strategy are often linked to market saturation and the need to reduce costs. To enhance the effective use of Blue Ocean strategy, it was recommended that executives consider using remedial strategies that include; development and nurturing a culture of research and innovation, constant environmental analysis, identification of gaps and opportunities, effective marketing of new Blue Ocean ventures, and strategic control and modifications to improve Blue Ocean ventures

IMPROVEMENT OF CIVIL SERVANTS PERFORMANCE AT THE MINISTRY OF RELIGION OFFICE OF JEMBER REGENCY

    Get PDF
Performance is the result of work that can be raised by someone or a group of people in an organization, in accordance with their respective powers and responsibilities. It is an effort to achieve the goal of the organization legally while do not violate the law and in accordance with morals and ethics. The purpose of the research is to know about the effect of the application of fingerprint, food allowance and performance allowance to the civil servants. The researcher used multiple linier regression analisys, f test and t test as data analysis. Sample that is used by the researcher is saturated sampling with 51 respondents. The result of the research shows that those three things are simultaneously have a significant effect to the civil servants. A very dominant variable in this research is the application of fingerprint.

Evaluation of Random Early Detection and Adaptive Random Early Detection in Benchmark Scenarios

    Get PDF
In this paper, we evaluate Random Early Detection (RED) and Adaptive RED (ARED) in Benchmark Scenarios as detailed in RFC 7928. RED is one of the early proposed AQM mechanisms, which attains high throughput and keeps average delay low. Moreover, ARED is an extension to RED which eliminates the parameter sensitivity to improve the performance of RED. The results indicate that RED outperforms ARED in scenarios with abrupt changes in traffic load. ARED is known to reduce the packet drops and therefore, in rest of the scenarios it can be observed that ARED outperforms RED

Unit step and impulse function equations to simplify the solution of engineering problems

    Get PDF
A unit step equation is proposed that when differentiated by elementary calculus yields the impulse function and when the resulting impulse function equation is integrated by elementary calculus yields the proposed unit step equation. Using these two equations, a two stage methodology is presented for the simplification of the solution of problems involving the impulse function

Two Elementary Analytic Functions and Their Relationship with Hardy and Bergman Spaces

    Get PDF
We prove that the function f(z)=1/(1-z) which is holomorphic in the open unit disc  centered at the origin, is an element of a Hardy space H^p if and only if  p<1. Here we give a new proof for a known result. Moreover, the present work provides two different new proofs for one of the implications mentioned above. One proves that the same function f is an element of a Bergman space A^p if and only if p<1. This is the first completely new result of this work. From these theorems we deduce the behavior of the function g(z)=1/(1-z^2)^(1/2)  in the half – open unit disc {z; |z|<1, Re(z)>0}. Although the assertions claimed above refer to complex analytic functions, and the involved spaces are function spaces of analytic complex functions, the proofs from below are based on results and methods of real analysi

Economic Development Process: a compartmental analysis of a macroeconomic model

    Get PDF
Economic growth and development have always been an interesting topic for economists. Since development is a dynamical process, we developed a new dynamical mathematical model describing the process of economic development. In this paper the compartmental approach, traditionally used in mathematical biology, is applied to built a macroeconomic model characterized by countries. Countries are divided into three classes based on their economic status: D(t) developing countries at time t, E(t) emerging countries at time t and A(t) advanced countries at time t. This minimalist model represents the different stage of development and encompasses the conditions under which a country can change its economic status. Numerical simulations on real economic data are provided in order to illustrate the theoretical part and to support discussion. On the other hand, a global sensitivity analysis is done to identify the factors that most influence the level of development of countries

IMPACT OF YOUTH PARTICIPATION ON ATTAINMENT OF AGENDA 2063 AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs) 2030 IN NIGERIA

    Get PDF
This paper examines the extent to which effective and constructive involvement of Youth in development processes can enhance the attainment of Agenda 2063 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 in Nigeria. The paper adopts Gabriel Almond’s structural-functionalism as a framework of analysis. Using majorly documentary sources of data the paper contends that given their energy, youth constitute a critical stakeholder in African development agenda. They serve as object and subject of political socialization, aggregation and articulation; complement and supplement the effort of government in rural development by undertaking self-help projects; protect the environment etc. The paper identifies bad governance, poverty, unemployment, lack of access to data and information on issues that affect Youth, armed conflicts, girl child discrimination, etc as hindrances to effective and constructive Youth participation in development processes in Africa, especially Nigeria. The paper concludes that attainment of Agenda 2063 and SDGs 2030in Nigeria depends essentially on the extent to which  deliberate policy initiatives are not evolved by government to eliminate the factors that prevent youth from participating meaningfully in decision making and implementation especially on matters that affect them. The paper recommends good governance, increased girl child education, provision of social and economic infrastructure to enable youth practice the skills acquired through vocational skill training, increased access to data and information on issues that affect youth etc, as measures that can enhance youth participation and the attainment of Agenda 2063and SDGs 2030

THE CONTRIBUTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

    Get PDF
The purpose of this research was to investigate the influence of the education, training, motivation, facilities, discipline, and working environment on the performance of employees and to know the dominant variables that affect the performance of the employee. The analysis of the data used by researchers was a multiple linear regression analysis, F test, t-test, and the coefficient of determination. The sample used in this study was the census sample, the sample used was 42 people. The results of the analysis stated that education, training, motivation, facilities, discipline, and working environment had an impact on the performance of employees and working environment was the most dominant factor that influence performance of employees.
