Valuation of Biotechnological Research: A Real Options Application for a Mexican Company
This paper deals with the valuation of a project of Mexican Bioclon Institute, a firm producing antivenoms; this valuation comprises a R&D research portfolio of three antivenoms targeted to the US market. A compound option methodology is used. Bioclon Institute is a world leader in the production, research and development of fabotherapics; these products are manufactured using its own technology, recognized internationally; it is a large company of antivenoms globally and it is the only Mexican biotech company authorized by the US to conduct clinical trials. Real Options valuation constitutes an important analytical tool of limited use by managers and entrepreneurs in developing countries because they are not fully aware about this methodology and its benefits for strategic sequential project analysis.

Many volunteers grow up in families where volunteering is the norm The appealing factors of volunteering are belongingness, safety, sense of achievement, satisfaction, increased knowledge and career benefits
From Theoritical Considerations to Practical Application - The Assessment of Carrying Capacity for Dhermi Coastal Area, Albania
Considered as one of the greatest country’s assets coastal areas in Albania have attracted the major share of local and foreign investments. Their scenic beauty, favourable climate, rich cultural and historical heritage have largely generated the developers’ interest during the last two decades. Unfortunately, due to the lack of the proper legislation, limited institutional capacity the major part of such investments have created massive urbanisation and strong development pressures, destructive to coastal resources. Therefore the proper planning and implementation of a sound tourism policy together employing beach carrying capacity assessment take a paramount importance for sustainable development of the coastal areas. This research paper aims to define the carrying capacity thresholds for Dhërmi beach as a prerequisite for tourism planning and development. The methodology used to estimate CCA is based on physical conditions of the study area and its management and support infrastructure. The preliminary assessment of beach CCA for Dhërmi is estimated at 6,648 beach users/day and indicates that it is still in higher level as compared to current tourist activity of the last year. Nevertheless, taking into account the large number of tourists frequenting it, as well as current undergoing investments, TCC assessment should be used as a guide to prevent this coastal area from degradation and manage sound tourism investments in the future
A study on the trend of Global language Development
Inpart paper, by considering the data of population, economy, national policy from 2000 to 2015, we adapt Principal component analysis to quantify the data to find out the influence factors. We establish the Virus Infection model to predict the language users within 50 years. We get that Chinese, Spanish, English, India language and other languages will become the top ten languages in the next 50 years
Gaussian Generalized Tribonacci Numbers
In this paper, we define Gaussian generalized Tribonacci numbers and as special cases, we investigate Gaussian Tribonacci and Gaussian Tribonacci-Lucas numbers with their properties
Corporate Identity, from Allegorical Discourse to Storytelling. An Approach in terms of Discursive Models
In this paper, we examine two discursive models that an organization may use to build and promote its identity image, namely the signature-discourse and the storytelling-discourse. Our aim is to specify the place and role of each of these two models, as well as the important function that the storytelling-discourse performs in the understanding of the signature-discourse and in revealing symbolic meanings and the ways to access them. The starting point of our study is the finding, which occurred in the teaching process, that first the perception and then the deciphering of the meaning of the signature-discourse involves a higher degree of difficulty. We believe that the association the two discursive approaches proves its usefulness, since storytelling corroborates the semantic interpretation of the signature-discourse and thereby the identification and assimilation of certain theoretical landmarks related to the construction of such a discourse. Another aspect that is worth mentioning is the achievement, in time, of continuity and coherence of the organization’s identity image. Our approach is based on investigation tools specific to communication sciences: elements of discourse analysis, and analysis of visual communication, which we use especially with the text but we will also discuss the construction of the visual message
Language Use as a Resource: E-Communication Dimensions of Register Variation in a Professional Context
The recent development in [critical] genre analysis moved the focus more into the institutionalized and conventionalized practices of the place discourse community; yet, examining the textual artifacts and register variations maintained their vital importance in the analysis. Using a functional multi-dimensional framework, this study examined register variation in more than 350 electronic messages that were exchanged in a professional context to explore register variations in the emails. The study revealed that the corpus of emails, if examined as a single genre, included instances of the seven dimensions of register variation. However, if it is examined as four types of genres based on the intentions of the communication, as in AlAfnan (2015a), it becomes apparent that the four types of email genres belong to different registers. The register of the emails that were parts of long strings discussing work related issues is ‘overtly argumentative’ and ‘narrative discourse’ registers. The register of the emails that intended to request information and/or respond to requests is ‘involved production’ register. The register of the emails that intended to inform recipients about general interest issues is ‘abstract style’ and ‘informational production’ registers. The register of the emails that intended to deliver attachments is ‘non-narrative discourse’ register. This study also revealed that the communicative purposes influenced language use, word choice, grammatical patterns and the syntactical structure of the emails.
A Study on Impact of Minimum Wage on Sustainability and Competitiveness of the Timber Industry
In recent years, the minimum wage has become an increasingly popular for reducing inequality in many emerging markets. The aim of the minimum wage is to allow low income workers to maintain a decent standard of living without unduly limiting the flexibility of employers to allow Malaysia to remain competitive at the global level. In setting the minimum wage, the government took into account social and economic considerations: cost of living, productivity, competitiveness and employment. The timber industry in Malaysia is one of long-standing prominence, garnering much attention as one of the economy’s core components of growth. Malaysia is among the world’s largest exporter of tropical logs, plywood, sawn-timber and furniture to international markets. This survey aimed to reveal the impact of minimum wage on sustainability and competitiveness of the timber industry. This paper will emphasize on the comparison between wood and wood based product sector firms and furniture sector firms in the timber industry. The targeted respondents are the owners or the managers who have knowledge on the financial information and the operation details of the company. Overall, SMEs in the furniture sector seem to be more ready towards the implementation of the minimum wage policy in comparison to their counterparts in wood and wood-based products sector. Their operational performance ratings are generally higher for majority of the different performance aspects.

The findings reveal that PRESOR and Internal CSR have a positive impact on employees’ organisational commitment while the indirect effect is not significant. The findings will complement the existing human resource management by incorporating the element of ethics and social responsibility to augment employees’ organisational commitment to next level.
Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997: A Standpoint from Selected Higher Education Institutions in Nueva Ecija After 20 Years
The focus of this study is to determine the awareness of employees and students of Higher Education Institutions in Nueva Ecija on the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997 twenty years after its implementation. The instruments used are survey questionnaires supplemented by interview, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The study found that most HEI’s in the Province of Nueva Ecija are not aware on the concerns of Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs)/ Indigenous Peoples (IPs). Likewise, no suitable office or center is provided by HEIs to cater to the educational needs of the ICCs/IPs. Most of the HEI employees and students are not aware on the IPRA of 1997 as shown by the absence of mechanisms and programs intended to heighten their consciousness on Indigenous Peoples rights. The study also showed that a very low percentage of HEIs are inclined to provide education services to the IPs. In addition, HEIs in Nueva Ecija have no existing collaboration with NCIP in regard to programs designed to increase awareness and protection of IPs. The study concluded that after 20 years of IPRA, HEIs in Nueva Ecija lag behind in promoting indigenous peoples rights and protection in the Province
