Effect of Slip velocity on Blood Flow in Catheterized Tapered Artery
Effect of slip velocity on blood flow through an arterial stenosis which is developed along a tapering wall is studied here. A uniform catheter is inserted in a stenosed tube. Blood is assumed to behave like Newtonian fluid. No slip as well as slip condition is taken in the present paper, at the arterial wall a velocity slip condition is employed and a no slip at the catheter boundary. Analytic expressions are obtained for different flow parameters and their behavior discussed through graphs. For the numerical solution of the problem, which is described by Navier-Stokes equations with appropriate boundary conditions, the Perturbation method is adopted. It is found that due to the introduction of an axial slip velocity and flow rate increases but wall shear stress decreases. The effect of tapering is also seen in the present model
Dynamics of a bounded rational Cournot duopoly model with cooperation
In this paper, a description of a Cournot duopoly model based on a general inverse demand function and a quadratic cost function is investigated. Existence and stability of equilibrium points are investigated analytically and numerically. Cooperation in duopoly is considered with “tit-for tat” strategy
A note on degenerate type 2 Changhee polynomials and numbers
In this paper, we consider the degenerate type 2 Changhee numbers and polynomials cn,λ(x) and derive some new identities involving degenerate type 2 Changhee polynomials, the type 2 Changhee polynomials, the type 2 Euler polynomials, generalized Bell numbers, the Changhee-central numbers of the second kind and Euler polynomials by using the generating fuction method and the Riordan matrix method
WARPED PRODUCT SEMI-SLANT SUBMANIFOLD OF NEARLY QUASI SASAKIAN MANIFOLD
The main objective of this paper is to study some geometric properties of warped product semi-slant submanifold of a nearly quasi Sasakian manifol
The influence of Equity and Trade credit Finance structure on SME’s Growth in Rwanda
The study investigated the influence of equity and trade credit finance structures on the growth of manufacturing SMEs in Rwanda. Two objectives guided the study; to determine the influence of equity finance structure on the growth of manufacturing SMEs in Rwanda and to investigate the influence of trade credit finance structure on the growth of manufacturing SMEs in Rwanda. The study used a mixed research design approach for collecting and analyzing data using a target population of 868 SMEs registered with Rwanda Development Board as of November 2017. Stratified random sampling technique was utilized to draw a sample size of 273 SMEs. Close-ended questionnaires were employed in data collection and data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) to generate descriptive statistics including percentages, frequency tables and mean scores. Multiple regression analysis was used to explore the relationship between trade credit, debt finance and growth of small and medium size manufacturing enterprises in Rwanda. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was utilized to test the significance of the model. R2 indicted the extent of the goodness fit of the regression model. The study findings showed that equity finance had a positive and significant influence on growth of small and medium manufacturing enterprise in Rwanda. Trade credit finance was also found to have a positive and significant influence on growth of small and medium manufacturing enterprise in Rwanda. The study recommends that the management of SMEs should be trained on the use of accounts receivable and accounts payable to fully take advantage of trade credit finance structure. This will ensure the SMEs grow their operations even during time of low liquidit
Factors Affecting Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Exports
This paper investigates the factors that affect Democratic Republic of the Congo’s bilateral export flows to its main trading partners. Based on data and other information from trusted sources such as World bank, World Trade Organization that have been used to estimate Congo’s exports through annual data covering the period 2014 to 2018 with its main trading partners
Fuzzy soft separation axioms in fuzzy soft topological spaces.
Fuzzy soft separation axioms was introduced by Mahanta and Das ([5]) using the definitions of a `fuzzy soft point' and `the complement of a fuzzy soft point is a fuzzy soft point', and `distinct of fuzzy soft points' in there sense. In this paper we, introduce fuzzy soft separation axioms in terms of the modified definitions of a `fuzzy soft point', the complement of a fuzzy soft point is a fuzzy soft set' and `distinct of fuzzy soft points'([7]). Also, we study some of their properties. Finally, we discuss fuzzy soft topological property for such spaces.
Doubt Fuzzy BOI-ideal of BOI-algebra
The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of doubt fuzzy BOI-ideal of BOI-algebra and to study their properties. The homomorphic image and the inverse image of a doubt fuzzy BOI-ideal isstudied well. The Cartesian product of doubt fuzzy BOI-ideal is introduced and discussed
Towards an Effective Learning Organisation and the Role of Human Resources (HR) Department: The Case of a South African Finance Organisation
This study investigates the effectiveness of measures taken by a South African finance institution towards guaranteeing that it is a learning organisation and the supportive role of Human Resources (HR) in this regard. The business environment today is volatile, uncertain, and has become more complex and ambiguous. Organisations have to make fast and appropriate decisions in order to remain current and relevant. Given the rate of change in the global business environment, organisations which are still characterised by traditional bureaucratic and hierarchical structures will find it difficult to adapt to the ever-changing business environment. This institution’s environment is characterised by a high level of bureaucracy and hierarchy resulting in prolonged decision-making processes. The prevalent culture does not promote information sharing and synergies between employees and different departments. In this study, the quantitative research method was used due to the large sample and population. The probability sampling technique was used to collect data from a population of 388 stratified into different management layers. Using multiple regression analysis, the study proved that the ability to promote learning abilities is significantly influenced by HR in driving a culture of learning within the organisation. The study provided further evidence that the learning organisation concept is holistic in its approach and that HR plays a key role in laying the foundation for this concept to thrive. Finally, a recommendation is made in the study that management should review organisational structures in place to improve decision-making. HR should play a more visible role in providing guidelines for mentorship and encourage cross-functional training, knowledge sharing and transfer among departments and employees
The Journey of Innovation: A Challenge on SME’s in Achieving Sustainable Competitive Advantage
The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of research on innovation in the last twenty years and to find out the impact on SME’s. Data was collected from the innovation literature journals written from 2000 - 2018. The secondary data were analyzed in three aspects including aspects of process innovation, product innovation and marketing innovation. All variables will be discussed to determine the impact on SME’s. The finding of this study is that some important variables of innovation process are general skills and intelligence, important variables of product innovation are product display / packaging and product quality management, while important variables of marketing innovation are sales networks, Information Technology (IT) utilization and promotion. The impact of these three aspects of innovation on SMEs such as: SME’s should share its knowledge and ought to have entrepreneurial spirit as well as be able to solve problems. This study concludes that innovation efforts for SME’s must be carried out sustainably through support from internal organization, governments and stakeholders in order to achieve the sustainable competitive advantage
