Makoto Wada's Role in the Early Animation of the Visual Age 〜A Study on the Involvement in NHK's “Minna no Uta” (Songs for Everyone) and its History and a Comparison with Art Director Saul Bass
This article will discuss the role of Makoto Wada, one of Japan's leading graphic designers, in the field of
animation. In particular, I will discuss how he and Sumio Gotoda, with whom he was deeply involved in the
NHK music program “Minna no Uta” (Songs for Everyone), came together to launch the program and how they
became involved in it. I will also mention the solutions to the budget and filming constraints of the time and,
on the other hand, the Limited Animation driven by UPA (United Productions of America) as a means of
artistic expression.
Furthermore, I will describe how the exchange relationships with various people, mainly from the advertising
and music industries, at the Sogetsu Art Center, which was a central venue for artistic activities in the 1960s,
led to the works. In addition, I will compare and analyze the opening title with that of Art Director Saul Bass.departmental bulletin pape
It's Tough Being Adopted into Bride’s Family: The Matrilineal Family System in Cultural Representation
Kenji MIZOGUCHI’s Osaka Elegy is considered as a realistic masterpiece in which an office girl sacrifices for
her family. While her company is a traditional pharmacy in Senba and the president of it is adopted into bride
family, her father is a modern salaried employee and her brother is a college student. To compare two families,
patriarchy depresses not only the female but also the male.departmental bulletin pape
Quantum Teleportation
量子テレポーテーションは量子コンピュ ータや量子ネットワークの基本となる量子情報技術である。本論文では、1993年に初めて量子テレポーテーションを理論的に提案したBennettらの研究を紹介し、その後の研究の進展と応用について紹介した。Quantum teleportation is a one of the most important protocols in quantum information and
quantum technologies. In this paper, first no-cloning theorem is briefly explained, and then
theoretical scheme and experimental developments of quantum teleportation are described. Finally,
future developments and applications of quantum teleportation are discussed.departmental bulletin pape
How Students in the Faculty of Arts Regard Courses Aimed at Developing 'Writing' Skills as Business Skills: Based on a Survey of Students Who Attended the "Japanese Expression B" Class
In this study, we explored how firstyear communication courses, specifically "Japanese Expression B" at
Tokyo Polytechnic University’s Faculty of Arts, can be improved to better equip students with practical
writing skills for general business scenarios. We investigated how students perceive this course, which aims
to teach students writing skills for business purposes. Specifically, we surveyed the students to explore
their backgrounds and evaluations of the course. The results revealed a high level of interest in basic skills
grounded in general social knowledge, while also highlighting an ambivalent psychological state that many
students experience, likely stemming from anxieties at the time of admission. Furthermore, while students
generally felt satisfied with the course, it became evident that they did not see a strong connection between
the skills learned in the course and their own creative work. Moving forward, the course content will need to
be revised to explain its significance in light of current social conditions and to enable students to understand
the connection between their foundational and specialized education, thereby fostering their ability to enhance
their respective skills.departmental bulletin pape
