    Scacchi moralizzati. Edizione e studio linguistico de «Li jus des esqies» di Engreban d’Arras

    RIASSUNTO: Il Jus des esqies, attestato unicamente dal ms. Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, fr. 25566, è la prima composizione in un volgare romanzo ad utilizzare il gioco degli scacchi come metafora della società. All’edizione aggiornata dei 298 versi in rima equivoca il presente studio aggiunge un inquadramento dell’opera nel suo contesto, un tentativo di ricostruzione del profilo dell’autore e uno studio linguistico.PAROLE-CHIAVE: Engreban d’Arras – Scacchi – Dit – MoralizzazioniABSTRACT: The Jus des esqies, preserved only by ms.     RIASSUNTO: Alessandro il Macedone è uno dei grandi re della storia e della leggenda ebraica. Innumerevoli sono le fonti ebraiche, dagli scritti del periodo del Secondo Tempio in poi, che narrano le sue avventure e le sue imprese, quelle storicamente attestate come quelle leggendarie. Il ricco materiale narrativo di questa tradizione compare nella Prima Età Moderna in lingua yiddish. In questo articolo vengono presentate le attestazioni della‘Materia di Alessandro’ nel genere della mayse, la forma brevis più diffusa nella letteratura yiddish antica. In particolare, viene proposta la versione inedita del manoscritto 8° 7308 della Biblioteca Nazionale di Israele e vengono poste alcune questioni sulla ricezione dei racconti su Alessandro, la maggior parte dei quali sono quelli basati su haggadot talmudiche.PAROLE-CHIAVE: Letteratura ebraica medioevale – Letteratura yiddish antica – Forma brevis – Mayse – Mayse-bukhABSTRACT: Alexander of Macedonia is one of great kings in Jewish history and legend. Several Jewish sources, from the period of the Second Temple onward, tell of his adventures and his gesta, both the historically attested and the legendary. The rich narrative material of this tradition appears in Yiddish in the Early Modern period.     RIASSUNTO: L’articolo presenta per la prima volta il corpus dei 39 testi trobadorici composti seguendo lo schema delle coblas dissolutas. Con la nuova analisi dei dati desumibili dal Répertoire métrique de la poésie des troubadours di István Frank, l’autore evidenzia i punti in comune e le differenze fra le liriche, delineando così 11 sottogruppi e mettendo in rilievo la centralità della figura di Arnaut Daniel per lo sviluppo del metro.PAROLE-CHIAVE: Metrica trobadorica – Coblas dissolutas – Arnaut DanielABSTRACT: The paper aims to describe for the first time the 39 troubadour texts corpus, characterized by the coblas dissolutaspoetic form. By reassessing István Frank’s Répertoire métrique de la poésie des troubadours, the author highlights similarities and differences between the poems and he splits them in 11 subgroups.     Robert, fils de Tédald, et la «Vie de saint Nicolas» de Wace

    RÉSUMÉ: Après avoir présenté les hypothèses antérieures relatives à l’identification de Robert le Fiz Tiout, un noble caenais du milieu du XIIe siècle et commanditaire de Wace dans la Vie de saint Nicolas, l’auteur s’intéresse à l’édition récente du cartulaire de l’abbaye Saint-Étienne de Caen. L’un des documents de ce cartulaire date du milieu du XIIe siècle et contient des références à un certain Robertus filius Tedaldi. Ce Robert serait, en toute probabilité, le commanditaire de Wace. Les détails fournis par le document invitent aussi à soupçonner les motivations du patronage littéraire de Robert: un acte de pénitence accompli sans doute vers la fin de sa vie.MOTS-CLÉS: Commanditaire – Littérature française du XIIe siècle – chartes normandes – pénitence ABSTRACT: Taking into account previous hypotheses dealing with the identification of Robert le fiz Tiout, a mid-12th century nobleman from Caen and Wace’s patron in the Vie de saint Nicolas, the author points towards the recent edition of a cartulary belonging to the abbey of Saint-Étienne in Caen. One of its mid-12th century documents contains references to a certain Robertus filius Tedaldi, Wace’s patron in all probability.     «Paris et Vienne» and its Swedish translation

    ABSTRACT: The French romance Paris et Vienne was translated into a great number of languages in the Middle Ages. The Swedish translation Riddar Paris och Jungfru Vienna from the sixteenth century only comprises the opening of the tale and is no more than 208 lines long. It is preserved in the manuscript Stockholm, Kungliga biblioteket, D 2, which is also known as Spegelbergs bok, a manuscript that contains texts of different genres. This article discusses some features of the Swedish text and context. First, in relation to the writing of the Swedish translation, it examines the manuscript’s context and the role of Sweden’s last Roman Catholic bishop, Hans Brask, as well as his secretary, Hans Spegelberg. Then, it analyses the links between the Swedish fragment, on the one hand, and the French romance and its translations into English and Low German, on the other hand (the Low German translation was most likely the Swedish translator’s direct source). The article takes special notice of the prologue to the Swedish text and its use of the notion höffuisk kerlech, or ‘courtly love’.KEYWORDS: Paris et Vienne – Riddar Paris och Jungfru Vienna – Roman idyllique – Medieval translation – Courtly lov
