HOW DO SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS INFLUENCE THE PROBABILITY OF FINANCIAL INCLUSION? EVIDENCE FROM A TRANSITIONAL ECONOMY

    Get PDF
Financial inclusion can be understood as the provision of financial services in a convenient and appropriate way to meet the needs of society, help vulnerable groups have opportunities, and promote sustainable economic growth. This study uses a probit regression model with 200 observations collected from November 1 to December 31, 2019, to examine how socio-demographic characteristics influence the probability of financial inclusion in Vietnam. The results show that human capital, education, and living in urban areas increase personal financial inclusion, while age has an inverse relationship with financial inclusion. Based on the analysis results, we recommend some solutions to promote financial inclusion, especially by applying financial technology and supplying more services to Vietnamese people

DEVELOPMENT OF AN AGE-PERIOD-COHORT-EXPERIENCE MODEL FOR FILIPINO INTERGENERATIONAL DIVERSITY INQUIRY IN SCHOOLS

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to develop a model to scrutinize intergenerational (IG) diversity in the workplace in response to current issues in IG diversity studies. These include the ambiguity of the definition of generation as the basis for understanding IG diversity and the overgeneralization of findings that could lead to generational stereotypes. The present study consists of two-phase developmental research. Phase One involved model development based on an integrative literature review. Phase Two focused on the validation of the model in the context of multigenerational colleagues in Philippine basic education schools. An Age-Period-Cohort-Experience (APCE) model was developed to explore IG diversity in the workplace. Validation showed the applicability of the model to obtain a contextualized understanding of IG diversity through the recognition of the overlapping and interrelated effects of age, period, cohort, and work experiences. The APCE model provided a useful lens for scrutinizing the IG diversity of the teachers in the workplace through qualitative research with limitations in terms of their age, period, cohort, and experiences. As such, said descriptions for each generation could only hold true while all four conditions are present. Until a strong basis for analysis is established, the separation of one effect from another will be difficult

TOPOLOGICAL INVARIANTS AND MILNOR FIBRE FOR A\mathcal{A}-FINITE GERMS C2C^2 to C3C^3

    Get PDF
This note is the observation that a simple combination of known results shows that the usual analytic invariants of a finitely determined multi-germ f:(C2,S)(C3,0)f : (C^2 , S) → (C^3 , 0) —namely, the image Milnor number , the number of cross-caps and triple points, CC and TT, and the Milnor number μ(Σ)μ(Σ) of the curve of double points in the target—depend only on the embedded topological type of the image of ff. As a consequence, one obtains the topological invariance of the sign-refined Smale invariant for immersions j:S3 S5j : S^3 \looparrowright  S^5 associated to finitely determined map germs (C2,0)(C3,0)(C^2 , 0) → (C^3 , 0)

In this note we explain the notion of the Thom condition for the Whitney stratifications of a complex analytic map. We give a question P. Deligne and indicate a possible way to answer it

SEASONAL VARIATION OF PHYTOPLANKTON FUNCTIONAL GROUPS IN TUYEN LAM RESERVOIR, CENTRAL HIGHLANDS, VIETNAM

    Get PDF
Seasonal changes in freshwater phytoplankton assemblages at Tuyen Lam Reservoir in the Central Highlands of Vietnam were classified into 23 functional groups based on physiological, morphological, and ecological characteristics. A total of 168 species were recorded during 10 surveys from 2015 to 2019 at 7 sampling sites, with Chlorophyta dominating in number of species. Phytoplankton abundance varied from 0.18×105 to 21.2×105 cells/L during the study period, mainly due to cyanobacteria. Seven of the 23 functional groups were considered to be dominant (relative density > 5%).  The dominant functional groups were groups M and G in the dry season and groups M, G, P, and E in the rainy season. Group M (Microcystis aeruginosa) was the most common in both seasons, while group P (Closterium, Staurastrum, Aulacoseira), group E (Dinobryon, Synura), and group G (Sphaerocystis, Eudorina) were more common in the rainy season. The Shannon diversity index (H¢) showed that phytoplankton communities were relatively diverse and that most of the study sites were lightly polluted. However, the ecological status has deteriorated at some locations due to the overgrowth of group M, leading to eutrophication in this reservoir. This study highlights the usefulness of functional groups in the study of seasonal changes in phytoplankton dynamics. Functional groups are applied for the first time at Tuyen Lam Reservoir and can be used to predict early-stage cyanobacterial blooms in future studies

GROTHENDIECK RINGS OF DEFINABLE SUBASSIGNMENTS AND EQUIVARIANT MOTIVIC MEASURES

    Get PDF
This paper studies categories of definable subassignments with some category equivalences to semi-algebraic and constructible subsets of arc spaces of algebraic varieties. These equivalences lead to the identity of certain Grothendieck rings, which allows us to compare the motivic measure of Cluckers-Loeser with that of Denef-Loeser for certain classes of definable subassignments

CAMELLIA SPHAMII (THEACEAE, SECT. PIQUETIA), A NEW TAXON OF YELLOW FLOWER FROM LANGBIANG BIOSPHERE RESERVE, VIETNAM

    Get PDF
Camellia sphamii is described and illustrated as a new species of section Piquetia from Hamasin village, D’ran town, Don Duong district, Lam Dong province, Vietnam. C. sphamii is similar to C. proensis (Quach, Luong et al., 2021) but differs from it in several morphological features: mature leaves cordate at base, young leaves purple; pericarp 7–8 mm thick with dense hair on the outer surface, flower buds ovate, ferruginous; sepals 5, hemisphere, concave, finely hairy on the outer surface, sparsely hairy on the inside, petals 7, finely hairy on the outer surface, with translucent margin, concave; style 5, ½ basally united; capsule 5 locular. Information on its phenology, distribution, ecology, and conservation status is also provided

MULTI-PIXEL PHOTON COUNTER FOR OPERATING A TABLETOP COSMIC RAY DETECTOR UNDER LOOSELY CONTROLLED CONDITIONS

    Get PDF
The multi-pixel photon counter (MPPC) has recently emerged as a great type of silicon photomultiplier to replace or compensate for conventional vacuum-based photomultiplier tubes. An MPPC provides many advantageous features, such as high electrical gain, outstanding photon detection efficiency, fast timing response, immunity to magnetic fields, low-voltage operation, compactness, portability, and cost-effectiveness. This article examines the electrical and optical characteristics of an MPPC under loosely controlled environmental conditions. We also report a measurement of the light yield captured by the MPPC when a cosmic ray passes through the plastic scintillator, demonstrating that such a setup is suitable as a simple, cost-effective tabletop cosmic ray detector for educational and research purposes

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze expressions of the gentle, elegant, and hospitable style of Dalat people and to clarify the differences and relationships between demographic factors and assessments of style. The research methods in this study include a survey of 1246 residents and travelers, 12 interviews, and 2 focus group discussions. The results show that a gentle style is the most prominent characteristic of Dalat people. The results also show that where people live before coming to Dalat and their length of time in Dalat influence their assessment of the style of Dalat people. Additionally, the study revealed that gender and education level influence evaluations of the style of Dalat people. This study aims to analyze expressions of the gentle, elegant, and hospitable style of Dalat people and to clarify the differences and relationships between demographic factors and assessments of style.
