    Community-Based Tourism optimization through institutional entrepreneurship in Sidomulyo Tourism Village

    Purpose — This study aimed to analyze the institutional entrepreneurship strategies to optimize community-based tourism practices in Sidomulyo Tourism Village.Method — This qualitative descriptive research focuses on the Tourism Awareness Group as the management institution of Sidomulyo Tourism Village. The data collection techniques are observation in Sidomulyo Tourism Village, in-depth interviews with the managers of the Tourism Awareness Group, and documentation. All discovered data is analyzed using Discursive Institutionalism.Result — We distinguished institutional entrepreneurship strategies into two dimensions: ideas and discourses. These strategic ideas include: managing the tourism village independently, re-justify Tourism Awareness Group goals following CBT aspects, re-arrange the formation and function within the Tourism Awareness Group component, involving the community in every step of the tourism village development, and communities get a fair reward for their participation, promoting community investment, creating product innovations, collaborating with universities and other tourism institutions, and also establish an environmental conservation and cultural preservation program with the community. Then, these ideas must be carried out in coordinative and communicative discourse. The Tourism Awareness Group actors who know communication skills and networks in the tourism sector are needed to convey these ideas.Contribution — This research contributes to discuss institutional entrepreneurship in tourism which still rarely to be studied

    Investigating the implementation of Panji culture-based cultural entrepreneurship

    Purpose — This study aims to explore the implementation of Panji culture-based cultural entrepreneurship.Method — This study used a qualitative method, gathering primary data through interviews with Panji mask dance artists and experts at Sanggar Tari Asmorobangun, Panji museum in Malang, and Gubug Wayang Museum in Mojokerto. Secondary data was obtained from relevant literature.Result — The implementation of Panji cultural entrepreneurship involves various aspects such as museums showcasing Panji masks and artifacts, the integration of Panji performances in dance studios and art galleries, and the promotion of Panji culture through handicrafts. These initiatives aim to preserve and promote Panji culture, educate younger generations, attract tourists, and contribute to the creative economy in Indonesia.Contribution — This study contributes by discussing the implementation of Panji culture-based cultural entrepreneurship, filling a research gap in the literature and providing insights into the strategies and initiatives employed in preserving and promoting Panji culture

    Ethical leadership, adhocratic culture, and innovative work behavior: Drivers of company performance

    Purpose — This study aims to analyze the effects of ethical leadership and adhocratic culture on company performance, with innovative work behavior serving as a mediating factor.Method — This study employed a quantitative approach, with permanent employees from the Social Security Agency on Health (BPJS) company as survey respondents, constituting 70% of the sample. The sampling technique utilized purposeful saturation sampling. Validity and dependability of the outer model were evaluated using SmartPLS. The hypotheses were tested using the output of the SmartPLS inner model.Result — We found that ethical leadership and innovative work behavior have a significant influence on company performance. However, our analysis suggests that adhocratic culture does not exert a significant impact on company performance. In terms of the relationship between ethical leadership, adhocratic culture, and innovative work behavior, we observed that both ethical leadership and adhocratic culture play an important role in shaping innovative work behavior. However, our findings indicate that innovative work behavior does not serve as a positive and substantial mediator between ethical leadership and company performance. Similarly, we found that innovative work behavior does not act as a positive and substantial mediator between adhocratic culture and company performance.Contribution — This study makes an academic contribution by revealing the specific impacts of ethical leadership and adhocratic culture on company performance, highlighting the importance of ethical leadership and innovative work behavior

    Exploring Hisbah as a supervisory mechanism for promoting Sharia compliance in modern business contexts

    Purpose — The primary goal of this study is to investigate how the supervisory role of Hisbah in Islam can effectively enhance the adherence of modern business individuals to Sharia principles.Method — This qualitative research utilizes a descriptive-analytical approach to examine the role of Hisbah in enhancing Sharia compliance among modern business practitioners. The data, obtained from various books and journals, is collected, processed, and analyzed to derive conclusions regarding the effectiveness of Hisbah in promoting adherence to Sharia principles in contemporary business settings.Result — By implementing internal Hisbah through the utilization of muraqabah and muhasabah tools, a culture of Sharia compliance can be established. Simultaneously, external Hisbah parties, such as authoritative institutions or government entities, can play a crucial role in strengthening control and supervision. This combined effort ensures that the enforcement of Sharia principles remains objective, independent, and practical. The establishment of a robust and synergistic supervisory mechanism between internal and external Hisbah, involving government authoritative institutions, can substantially contribute to achieving Sharia compliance among modern business practitioners.Contribution — This research makes a valuable contribution to the academic realm by enriching our understanding of the concept of Hisbah and its implications for Sharia compliance. It serves as an initial stimulus for future research endeavors, particularly focusing on the effectiveness of external Hisbah institutions in fulfilling their supervisory roles within modern business contexts. This research paves the way for further exploration and investigation into the topic, fostering a deeper understanding of how external Hisbah entities can effectively contribute to promoting Sharia compliance in contemporary business practices

    Anthropocene monument as an ecotourism destination in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia

    Purpose — This study aims to analyze the procurement and processing of plastic waste from the Piyungan Integrated Waste Disposal Site (TPST) for the construction of Monument of Anthropocene (MoA) as a means of promoting ecotourism, while also examining the obstacles encountered during the monument-building process.Method — This research utilizes qualitative descriptive methods, which involve describing a phenomenon occurring within the community. The study was conducted at the Anthropocene Monument, employing data collection techniques such as observation, documentation, and interviews, with an interview conducted with the curator of the Anthropocene monument. The acquired data is analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis, encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.Result — The building process of MoA involves the use of bricks made from plastic waste. In addition to its function as a building, MoA serves as a multifaceted hub that fosters learning, exploration, information sharing, knowledge exchange, and collaborative efforts in production and work. MoA represents a form of ecotourism that showcases a strong sense of responsibility towards the environment and local culture by transforming plastic waste into valuable resources, both as raw materials in the form of bricks and as works of art. As an ecotourism site, MoA also offers three programs, namely art, culture, and circular economy.Contribution — This research makes a valuable contribution to the existing literature on ecotourism as an innovative approach to plastic waste management in less explored tourist areas in Indonesia.     Determinants of agricultural companies’ firm value listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange

    Purpose — The goal of this study is to examine how firm size, corporate social responsibility, capital structure, profitability, and firm age impact the firm value of agricultural companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).Method — We employed the purposive sampling method to select a sample of 12 oil palm plantation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period between 2013 and 2021. The secondary data, comprising both quantitative and qualitative data, were collected from the websites of these sample companies. To analyze the collected sample, we utilized the panel regression analysis method by employing Stata 17 and SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) software.Result — We found that firm size had a significant and negative impact on firm value. However, corporate social responsibility, capital structure, profitability, and firm age did not show any significant impact on firm value.Contribution — This study contributes to the academic literature by examining oil palm plantation companies over a nine-year period and incorporating control variables such as profitability, firm size, and firm age

    Assessing the potential and determinants of food crop sub-sector production in East Java, Indonesia

    Purpose — This study aims to identify the base and non-base areas within the food crop sub-sector and examine the relationship between agricultural land area, labor (farmers), and the Human Development Index in the production zones of the food crop sub-sector.Method — The research utilized Location Quotient analysis and logit regression analysis, employing the SPSS application as the analytical tool. The study sample consisted of 38 regencies/cities from East Java Province.Result — The results of this research reveal the specific areas encompassed within the food crops sub-sector base in East Java Province, namely: Pamekasan Regency, Blitar Regency, Madiun Regency, Nganjuk Regency, Probolinggo Regency, Trenggalek Regency, Jombang Regency, Kediri Regency, Magetan Regency, Ngawi Regency, Tuban Regency, Ponorogo Regency, Bangkalan Regency, Bondowoso Regency, Lamongan Regency, Sampang Regency, Situbondo Regency, Tulungagung Regency, and Pacitan Regency. Furthermore, the research outcomes highlight a significant correlation between the agricultural labor force (farmers) and production levels, encompassing both the base and non-base sectors of the food crop sub-sector within East Java Province. Conversely, the study reveals that the Human Development Index (HDI) and land area do not exert a statistically significant influence on production.Contribution — This study contributes by determining the regencies/cities in East Java Province classified as base and non-base areas of the food crops sub-sector. It explores the factors leading to such classifications. Unlike previous research focusing solely on base and non-base areas, this study comprehensively analyzes both categories within the food crops sub-sector

    Sejak lahir manusia mengalami yang namanya pertumbuhan dan perkembangan, namun ada satu masa atau fase dimana pada fase tersebut biasanya dikenal dengan fase golden age. Pendidikan pada anak usia dini bisa dimulai sejak anak berusia 0-8 tahun. Pada pendidikan ini biasanya anak akan dijarkan bercalistung sejak dini. Calistung memiliki dampak bagi perkembangan bahasa anak baik dampak negative maupun dampak positif. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak calistung bagi perkembangan bahasa anak. Maka dari itu penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwasannya perkembangan bahasa dipengaruhi oleh usia dan juga perkembangan kognitif anak. Pada perkembangan bahasa anak ini menurut Mackey memiliki tahapan-tahapan yang berdasarkan tingkatan umur. Calistung adalah pembelajaran membaca, menulis dan menghitung, dimana pembelajaran tersebut merupakan pembelajaran dasar yang perlu anak pahami sejak dini agar nantinya dapat mempermudah si anak dalam menerima pelajaran-pelajaran di masa yang akan datang. Calistung akan berdampak positif pada anak jika pembelajaran calistung itu tidak dipaksakan tapi akan berdampak negatif jika pembelajaran calistung dipaksakan kepada anak

    STUDI ADSORPSI METILEN BIRU MENGGUNAKAN BIOSORBEN SABUT BUAH SIWALAN TERAKTIVASI KALIUM HIDROKSIDA

    Penelitian ini melaporkan tentang adsorpsi metilen biru memanfaatkan sabut buah siwalan teraktivasi KOH. Aktivasi menggunakan KOH untuk meningkatkan kapasitas adsorpsi. Sabut buah siwalan dipreparasi menggunakan variasi ukuran partikel 80, 100 dan 120 mesh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ukuran partikel adsorben 100 mesh memiliki kapasitas adsorpsi tertinggi. Parameter adsorpsi metilen biru yang diuji diantaranya pH, waktu kontak, dan variasi konsentrasi. Hasil yang diperoleh secara berturut-turut yaitu pH 7, waktu kontak optimum 75 menit dan konsentrasi maksimum 60 ppm. Model kinetika adsorpsi yang sesuai untuk adsorpsi metilen biru menggunakan sabut buah siwalan teraktivasi basa yaitu pseudo orde dua dengan nilai R2=0,999. Sedangkan isotermal adsorpsi yang sesuai adalah model isotermal Langmuir, yang berarti bahwa adsorpsi terjadi secara kimia dan menyebabkan pembentukan monolayer pada permukaan adsorben. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa sabut buah siwalan dapat dijadikan sebagai adsorben metilen biru
