    Evaluation of the 2013 Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education at SMPN 1 Labuapi: A CIPP Model Analysis (Context, Input, Process, Product)

    This article aims to examine the implementation evaluation of the 2013 Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMPN 1 Labuapi using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product). Adopting a qualitative descriptive approach, the study systematically and factually outlines the PAI learning process. The Context evaluation reveals that the curriculum is relevant to current developments and student needs, focusing on improving educational quality and reinforcing character development. The Input evaluation indicates that the readiness of students, facilities, infrastructure, and teaching materials support the success of the learning process, although there are challenges related to student motivation that require further attention. The Process evaluation shows that the learning process is well-implemented, with educators effectively utilising technology, although conventional methods remain dominant. The Product evaluation demonstrates that learning outcomes are being achieved effectively, with students displaying a deep understanding of Islam and a strong character in line with religious and social norms. This research recommends enhancing the quality of PAI learning at SMPN 1 Labuapi by focusing on the development of teaching methods, the utilisation of technology, and the improvement of student motivation to achieve more optimal educational outcomes. Abstrak: artikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas evaluasi implementasi Kurikulum 2013 pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMPN 1 Labuapi menggunakan model evaluasi CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini menggambarkan secara sistematis dan faktual proses pembelajaran PAI. Hasil evaluasi Context menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum ini relevan dengan perkembangan zaman dan kebutuhan siswa, serta berfokus pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan penguatan karakter. Evaluasi Input mengindikasikan kesiapan siswa, sarana, prasarana, dan materi pembelajaran yang mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran, meskipun ada tantangan terkait dengan motivasi siswa yang perlu perhatian lebih lanjut. Evaluasi Process menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dilaksanakan dengan baik, dengan pendidik yang terampil memanfaatkan teknologi, meskipun masih dominan penggunaan metode konvensional. Evaluasi Product menunjukkan hasil pembelajaran yang tercapai dengan baik, dengan siswa menunjukkan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang Islam dan karakter yang kuat sesuai dengan norma agama dan sosial. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran PAI di SMPN 1 Labuapi dengan fokus pada pengembangan metode pengajaran, pemanfaatan teknologi, dan peningkatan motivasi siswa, untuk mencapai hasil pendidikan yang lebih optimal

    Moderate Character Education in Sasak Cultural Institutions: An Islamic Education Perspective

    This study explores moderate character education within the cultural institutions of the Sasak community from the perspective of Islamic Religious Education. In Sasak society, the values of religious moderation have long been embedded through various traditions and social institutions that reflect attitudes of tolerance, balance (wasatiyyah), and inclusivity. Islamic education, particularly within pesantren and madrasah, plays a strategic role in strengthening the moderate character within society. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing literature reviews and observations of local cultural practices that contribute to fostering a moderate religious mindset. The findings indicate that moderate character education within the Sasak community is reflected in traditions such as begibung, nyongkolan, and customary law practices (awig-awig), which instill values of solidarity and social harmony. Furthermore, the role of Tuan Guru in educating santri about Islam as rahmatan lil ‘alamin (a mercy to all creation) is crucial in maintaining a balance between Islamic teachings and local wisdom. However, contemporary challenges such as uncontrolled digital information flow and the rise of extremist discourse on social media necessitate adaptive strategies in Islamic education. Therefore, strengthening moderation-based curricula, leveraging technology for Islamic education and dakwah, and fostering collaboration between pesantren and higher education institutions are essential strategies to sustain moderation values in the digital era. In conclusion, moderate character education within Sasak cultural institutions represents an integration of Islam and local wisdom that fosters an inclusive and harmonious society. Synergy between Islamic educational institutions, religious scholars (ulama), and the government is crucial in reinforcing an education system based on moderation values to address the challenges posed by globalization and technological advancements. Abstrak: Penelitian ini membahas pendidikan karakter moderasi dalam pranata budaya Sasak dari perspektif Pendidikan Agama Islam. Dalam masyarakat Sasak, nilai-nilai moderasi beragama telah lama tertanam melalui berbagai tradisi dan pranata sosial yang mencerminkan sikap toleransi, keseimbangan (wasatiyyah), dan inklusivitas. Pendidikan Islam, khususnya dalam lingkungan pesantren dan madrasah, memiliki peran strategis dalam memperkuat karakter moderasi di tengah masyarakat. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka dan observasi terhadap praktik-praktik budaya lokal yang berkontribusi dalam membangun sikap moderat dalam beragama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter moderasi di masyarakat Sasak terefleksikan dalam tradisi begibung, nyongkolan, dan praktik hukum adat (awig-awig), yang mengajarkan nilai kebersamaan dan harmoni sosial. Selain itu, peran Tuan Guru dalam mendidik santri tentang Islam yang rahmatan lil ‘alamin menjadi kunci dalam menjaga keseimbangan antara ajaran Islam dan kearifan budaya lokal. Namun, tantangan modern seperti arus informasi digital yang tidak terkontrol dan meningkatnya wacana ekstremisme di media sosial mengharuskan adaptasi dalam pendidikan Islam. Oleh karena itu, penguatan kurikulum berbasis moderasi, pemanfaatan teknologi dalam dakwah dan pembelajaran, serta kolaborasi antara pesantren dan institusi pendidikan tinggi menjadi strategi utama dalam menjaga nilai-nilai moderasi di era digital. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan karakter moderasi dalam budaya Sasak merupakan model integrasi antara Islam dan kearifan lokal yang mampu membentuk masyarakat yang inklusif dan harmonis. Sinergi antara lembaga pendidikan Islam, ulama, dan pemerintah sangat diperlukan untuk memperkuat sistem pendidikan berbasis nilai-nilai moderasi guna menghadapi tantangan globalisasi dan teknologi.     Self-confidence is the ability of individuals to face new problems or challenges by optimizing their development, so the lack of self-confidence experienced by individuals cannot be considered a common issue. Confidence issues can impact an individual\u27s success in achieving future goals. This article presents the results of the author\u27s literature review on studies of self-confidence that can be enhanced through the application of Qur\u27anic counseling. The author examines approximately six studies on self-confidence and Qur\u27anic counseling. Counseling from the perspective of the Qur\u27an is highly relevant to serve as a pillar of life and a fundamental basis for Muslims in seeking answers to various evolving issues. The conclusion of this article reveals that individuals who understand the meaning of the Qur\u27an will have self-confidence because they make the Qur\u27an a philosophy of life

    Clicks and Conversations: Exploring the Factors Influencing Frequency of Ilokano Language Usage

    Investigating the factors influencing the frequency of language usage in a community is crucial for understanding the vitality of its native language. This qualitative study investigated the health of the Ilokano language through an exploration of the factors that affect language use among selected Ilokano speakers in the municipality of Agoo, La Union. A written/mailed interview was used to capture relevant data for exploring this exploration. The findings of the study revealed a concerning trend, revealing two emerging factors significantly influencing language use: 1) generational shifts and  2) technological advances. Recognizing and addressing the factors contributing to the decline of Ilokano in Agoo is essential for fostering linguistic diversity and cultural richness and maintaining a vibrant local identity. This deficiency in research on language vitality is particularly concerning given the intricate interplay of sociocultural, economic, and technological factors that shape the linguistic landscape of diverse communities. While there are challenges due to generational shifts and technological advances, ongoing enhancement efforts offer hope for the future of Ilokano. Despite the challenges, the future of Ilokano is not predetermined. By acknowledging its importance, supporting enhancement efforts, and embracing technological opportunities, the Ilokano community can ensure the language continues to thrive for generations to come

    Developing Students’ Writing Skills Through Short Story in ELT

    This study examines the effect of the appearance-based approach in enhancing students\u27 short story writing skills at MA Model Zainul Hasan. The research highlights challenges such as low literacy rates and limited English vocabulary, particularly in Islamic boarding schools, which hinder students’ writing development. The study aims to address these issues by integrating innovative methods to improve literacy and writing skills. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through classroom observations and interviews. The findings reveal that the appearance-based approach significantly enhances students\u27 ability to organize and express ideas creatively. It also boosts their confidence in public speaking through storytelling exercises. Furthermore, the method fosters collaboration among students and supports the development of critical thinking and creativity. The study concludes that short story writing, supported by appearance-based techniques, is an effective strategy for overcoming language barriers and improving literacy. The implications suggest that educators should adopt similar innovative approaches to nurture students\u27 motivation, creativity, and engagement in writing activities. This research contributes to the development of practical teaching strategies in contexts with limited exposure to English

    APPLICATION OF MODEL-ELICITING ACTIVITIES (MEAs) FOR LEARNING MATHEMATICS BASED ON STUDENTS’ INITIAL MATHEMATICAL ABILITIES

    This study aims to analyze the application of the Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) for learning mathematics based on students’ initial mathematical abilities and school origin. It was conducted at SDN Batujajar 3, SDN Sukamaju and SDS Yayasan Beribu by using a quantitative research approach. The research method used the survey method and Two Ways ANOVA test analysis to determine the relationship between students; initial mathematics learning outcomes, students’ origin school, and students’ initial mathematical abilities with a sample of 81 students. In this study, it was found that in learning using the Model-Eliciting Activities there were differences in students’ mathematics learning outcomes based on students’ school origin, students’ mathematics learning outcomes based on students’ initial mathematical abilities, and there was an interaction between school origin and students’ initial mathematical abilities in determining mathematics learning outcomes. In addition, the interaction that occurred shows that SDS Yayasan Beribu had better than SDN Batujajar 3 and SDN Sukamaju

    This research aims to describe the school\u27s strategy for improving the nationalist character of students at SDN 8 Pena Na\u27e, Bima City, and the supporting factors for increasing the nationalist character of students at SDN 8 Pena Na\u27e, Bima City. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This research was carried out at SDN 8 Pena Na\u27e, Bima City. Data sources from teachers and students. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. To ensure the validity of the data, triangulation techniques were used. Based on the research results, it was found that the school\u27s strategy for improving students\u27 nationalistic character is: (1) The school involves its students in taking part in the flag ceremony every Monday morning, (2) The school involved students in a cultural parade wearing traditional regional clothing, (3) involvement of students in following beautiful walks, (4) involvement of students in Lenggo cultural dances. It is hoped that this article will contribute to developing a theoretical framework and practical strategies for developing knowledge in Indonesi

    ANALYSIS OF TEACHER-PARENT INTERACTION FOR IMPROVING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AT MIFTAHUL ULUM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

    This study aims to analyze the interaction strategies between teachers and parents in efforts to improve student achievement at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Ulum. In this research, a qualitative approach was used to deeply explore the social interactions between teachers and parents in supporting student success. Data collection techniques included interviews and observations, allowing researchers to gather direct insights from participants about their perceptions and experiences regarding this educational collaboration. The findings identified three main interaction strategies implemented by teachers: the parent-teacher association as a regular communication forum, home visits to understand students’ home environments, and a student achievement space as a medium for recognition and motivation for high-performing students. The implementation of these three strategies demonstrated a significant increase in parental involvement, contributing positively to both the academic and character development of students.     [Bahasa]: Kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PPM) di Kelurahan Sungai Bulan, Kecamatan Singkawang Utara, Kota Singkawang dilakukan sebagai respon dari masalah kebersihan lingkungan yang dihadapi warga, di mana sering terjadi aktivitas pembuangan sampah di lahan kosong pada wilayah tersebut. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk menyosialisasikan pentingnya kebersihan lingkungan, mendorong partisipasi serta keterlibatan masyarakat dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan secara bersama-sama, meningkatkan kesadaran, memperkenalkan praktik berkelanjutan, serta menginspirasi perubahan perilaku dalam masyarakat, khususnya melalui pengelolaan limbah plastik. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 25 orang partisipan dari masyarakat Kelurahan Sungai Bulan. Melalui sosialisasi, kerja bakti, pemasangan plang larangan membuang sampah, serta demonstrasi pembuatan paving block dari plastik bekas, kegiatan ini menerapkan metode Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD). Hasilnya menunjukkan adanya tingkat partisipasi masyarakat yang tinggi dan antusiasme yang kuat dari warga Kelurahan Sungai Bulan, serta pelaksanaan kegiatan yang lancar. Manfaat dari kegiatan ini meliputi pemahaman yang meningkat tentang pentingnya kebersihan lingkungan, partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam menjaga lingkungan, peningkatan informasi tentang pengelolaan sampah, serta perbaikan lingkungan yang lebih bersih dan terjaga. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai upaya untuk memecahkan masalah kebersihan lingkungan, tetapi juga sebagai alat edukasi yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan partisipasi masyarakat. Kata Kunci: kebersihan, lingkungan, partisipasi, plastik, sampah [English]: The community service program in Sungai Bulan Sub District, North Singkawang District, Singkawang City, was conducted in response to the environmental cleanliness issues faced by the residents. The area frequently experiences waste disposal activities on vacant lands. This program aims to promote the importance of environmental cleanliness, encourage community participation and involvement in maintaining a clean environment collectively, raise awareness, introduce sustainable practices, and inspire behavioral changes within the community, mainly through plastic waste management. Twenty-five participants from the Sungai Bulan Sub-District attended this program. Through socialization, communal work, installation of signs prohibiting littering, and demonstration of making paving blocks from recycled plastic, this program applies the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The results show high levels of community participation, strong enthusiasm from Sungai Bulan residents, and smooth implementation of the activities. The benefits of this program include increased resident\u27s understanding of the importance of environmental cleanliness, active community participation in ecological preservation, increased information on waste management, and improved cleanliness and preservation of the environment. Thus, this program serves as an effort to address environmental cleanliness issues and as an effective educational tool to raise awareness and community participation.     [Bahasa]: Integrasi teknologi dalam proses pendidikan dapat secara aktif mendorong keterlibatan siswa dalam belajar. Namun, guru masih menghadapi tantangan dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang berbasis teknologi. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru Sekolah Dasar melalui pelatihan konten pendidikan menggunakan snack video berbasis Ajaran Tamansiswa TRI N (Niteni, Niroke dan Nambahi). Pengabdian ini menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research yang dilakukan dalam tiga tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Berdasarkan evaluasi melalui angket yang dibagikan kepada guru SD Islam Terpadu Al Lukmanul Hakim 2 Yogyakarta, dari data yang masuk ditemukan 65% sebagian besar guru memiliki keterampilan editing konten kreator pendidikan di platform Snack Video yang tergolong cukup baik. Meskipun demikian, tingkat pemahaman guru terhadap materi sosialisasi tergolong baik. Selain itu dari 30 guru diperoleh 80% dari mereka memiliki pemahaman baik, dan 14% memiliki pemahaman sangat baik, sementara hanya 1% yang memiliki pemahaman kurang baik. Dalam hal kepuasan terhadap kegiatan pengabdian, 20% dari para guru menyatakan tidak puas, 60% menyatakan puas, dan 20% menyatakan sangat puas. Meskipun beberapa guru merasa tidak puas, mayoritas merasa puas atau sangat puas dengan kegiatan pengabdian ini. Sebagai kesimpulan, pengabdian ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan editing konten pendidikan guru dan memperkuat pemahaman mereka terhadap materi sosialisasi berdasarkan ajaran tamansiswa Niteni, Niroke dan Nambahi. Kata Kunci: Snack Video, Tri N, profesionalisme guru [English]: Integrating technology into the education process can actively promote student engagement in learning. However, teachers generally struggle to develop technology-based learning tools. This community service program aims to enhance the professionalism of elementary school teachers through educational content training using snack videos based on the Tamansiswa TRI N teachings. (Niteni, Niroke dan Nambahi). This community service activity is carried out in three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the assessment through a questionnaire distributed to teachers at SD Islam Terpadu Al Lukmanul Hakim 2 Yogyakarta, the data collected showed that 65% of many teachers have editing skills for educational content creators on the Snack Video platform, which are classified as quite reasonable. Nevertheless, teachers\u27 understanding of the socialisation material is classified as good. Additionally, out of 30 teachers, 80% have good knowledge, 14% have excellent experience, and only 1% have poor knowledge. Regarding satisfaction with the service activities, 20% of the teachers expressed dissatisfaction, 60% expressed satisfaction, and 20% expressed high satisfaction. Although some teachers feel dissatisfied, most are satisfied with this service activity. In conclusion, this service successfully improved teachers\u27 content editing skills and strengthened their understanding of socialisation materials based on the teachings of Tamansiswa: Niteni, Niroke, and Nambahi.
