    Goat milk contains beneficial nutrients that supposedly improve the performance and health of athletes. The objective of this research was to discover the benefits of goat milk on anthropometric (weight, height, body mass index (BMI)), blood pressure (BP), leg muscle strength (LMS), and calcium in junior footballers. This research was a quasi-experimental design (one group pretest-posttest). Subjects: 22 football athletes, male, 12-16 years old, regular training, and healthy. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The treatment was fresh goat's milk, a dose of 250 ml/day, given at 04.00-06.00 p.m, throughout 21 days. The subject examination includes measurements: weight, height, BMI, BP, LMS, and serum calcium using a weighing scale, microtoise, BMI formula, sphygmomanometer and stethoscope, leg dynamometer, and Cresol Phtalein Complex. Data were analyzed by paired sample t-test (p<0,05). Results, there were significant differences in weight (p= 0,000) and BMI (p= 0,033) before and after treatment. Conversely, there was a significant enhancement of LMS (p= 0,000), systolic (p= 0,005), without a diastolic increase (p= 0,143), significantly decreased hypocalcemia percentage (p= 0,001) after treatment. In conclusion, consumption of fresh goat milk regularly increased LMS, regulates diastolic within normal limits, as well as reduces weight, BMI, and percentage of hypocalcemia therefore it is highly recommended to consume 2-3 glasses of goats milk per day for junior footballers

    Background: Disorders Due to Iodine Deficiency (IDD) is one of the main nutritional problems that cannot be eliminated due to an environment that is poor in iodine sources. Residents who live in areas with an iodine deficit and only consume available food and drink. Lack of knowledge about the causes of IDD is the driving force for the high incidence of health problems.Objectives: This study aims to determine whether there is an effect before and after the counseling is carried out on changes in the knowledge of housewives and the use of iodized salt.Methods: This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with pre-test and post-test. This research was conducted in Trienggadeng District, Pidie Jaya Regency, which was conducted in 2019. The sample size in this study was the entire population as a sample, namely all 39 housewives. Data collection includes primary data and maternal data. Data processing in this study with 4 stages, including stages namely; editing, coding, entry, processing, and cleaning data. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate. The statistical test for bivariate analysis was using the T-dependent statistical test.Results: The results showed that the level of knowledge and use of iodized salt in housewives in Trienggadeng District, Pidie Jaya Regency. There is an effect of counseling the benefits of iodized salt before and after on increasing the knowledge of housewives, with a value of p = 0.001 (p < 0.05). There is an effect of counseling the benefits of iodized salt between before and after the use of iodized salt to housewives, with a value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is the influence of education on the benefits of iodized salt to increase knowledge of housewives, but it is also significant in household use

    Calcium deficiency in the body is caused by calcium that has not optimal absorption by the body, resulting in the occurrence of calcium defesiensi. Calcium can not be absorbed maximally by the body when in large molecular form, so the calcium is finally wasted. Therefore, it is necessary to form nano-size so that the calcium can be absorbed by the bones well. The purpose of this research is to see the effect of Milling time with Nano size particles of Kelor powder (Moringa oleifera) and the correlations with Invitro and Invivo bioavailability. The research method is to use the research draft of laboratory experiments, with the sample of the Kelor leaves in powder form, and nanoparticles will be carried out the proximate analysis, nutrient analysis, solubility test, and bioavailability test. The results showed there was a long influence of milling time with nanoparticle size. There is a difference in moisture content, ash, energy, fiber, and total sugar between the leaves of the powder and nano Kelor (p<0,05). There are significant differences in the content of vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin K between the form of powder and nano leaf particles (p<0,05). There are significant differences in the levels of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium between the size of the powder to the nano leaf-size particles (p<0,05).     Background: One of the nutritional problems in Indonesia is iodine deficiency which can cause IDD. Lack of iodine can result in mumps and cretin, mental retardation, birth defects, children who are less intelligent, and miscarriage in pregnant women. The community is expected to understand the effects of iodine deficiency and excess on health, so it is expected to reduce the number of sufferers of iodine deficiency and excess in Indonesia.Objective: The research aims to improve the behavior of mothers in using iodized salt towards the anticipation of short children. Methods: The study design was quasi-experimental, which was conducted on 30 housewives who had toddlers. The study was conducted from August to September 2018 in Lhoknga District. Pretest and posttest data related to behavior (knowledge, attitudes, and actions) were collected through interviews using a questionnaire. Data processing includes the stages of editing, coding, entry, and tabulating. Data analysis was performed bivariate, using t-dependent tests at 95% CI.Results: This study has shown that there is a significant difference (p= 0.000) between knowledge, attitudes, and actions of mothers before training and after training on the use of iodized salt in the household.Conclusion: The provision of educational training on the use of iodized salt through leaflet media apparently has a statistically significant effec

    Anemia was a health problem that was globally experienced by developed countries. Anemia was affected by many pregnant women, toddlers, and school-age children in Indonesia. The incidence of SEZs on women of fertile age was 49,44%. This study aimed to determine the effect of the implementation of anemia prevention in high school-based community empowerment on increasing the knowledge and participation of teachers, canteen managers, and school students. This was a quasi-experimental study. This design was a pre-post test with control. The population was high school students in the district of Srandakan Bantul Regency. Data were collected by interview, observation, and document search techniques. Data analysis was performed by means of different t-test. There was a difference in knowledge about controlling the problem of anemia at the end of treatment in the two groups (p= 0,000).     Background: Halitosis is caused by rotting food scraps by poor oral hygiene, and this condition can be exacerbated by irregular teeth composition. In this situation, the unpleasant odor can be reduced or eliminated by brushing teeth, using mouthwash and traditional methods by gargling / consuming fibrous fruits such as apples and guava. Riskesdas 2013, in general, people brush their teeth every day in the morning and evening bathing as much as 90.7% and before bedtime only 20.7%. The results of the examination on 20 oral hygiene students in the category of dental and oral hygiene were poor (60%). Measurement of halitosis manually by licking a spoon, then within 10 seconds is kissed manually if the odor caused is so stinging it belongs to the category of halitosis.Objective: to determine the effectiveness of consuming guava juice compared to apple juice on changes in the decrease in halitosis. The sample of 120 first grade students of SMPN 7 Banda Aceh was divided into 2 groups. The study was conducted on July 24 until August 1.Method: This research is quasi-experimental. Data analysis was tested using Paired t-test. Meanwhile, to find out the effectiveness of both of them is tested by the Independent Test t-test with a significance level of 95%.Results: The results showed that before consuming apple juice, the first measurement was 3.00 and the second was 3.02, after being given halitosis apple juice, the first mean was decreased by 1.70 and the second measurement was 1.58. Before consuming red guava juice, the average measurement was 2.98 and after giving red guava juice, it decreased to 2.22 (first measurement) and 2.13 (second measurement).Conclusion: The significant decrease in halitosis scores that consume apple juice has a better effectiveness in reducing the halitosis score compared to consuming red guava juice obtained p = 0,000.It is recommended: in schools to be able to consume apples and red guava fruit as natural ingredients to reduce bad breath or prevent bad breath (halitosis)

    Background: Anxiety in children about dental care is a problem that arises in children. This is because the dentist's perception and introduction to children does not start early.Objectives: This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the use of audio visuals on reducing children's anxiety during dental treatment at Pertiwi and Raudhatul Jannah Kindergarten in Banda Aceh.Methods: This study uses a cross-sectional study design which is a study conducted to find the relationship between the independent variables (risk factors) and the dependent variable anxiety in dental care. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with the criteria of children aged 5-6 old. The number of samples is 100 samples. Test analysis using the dependent t-test and was analyzed using the stata 14.Results: The results showed, the comparison between the first day and the second day showed a difference in the decrease in anxiety level with the child's anxiety score with intervention of 2.78 with a deviation of 1.379 while the second group without intervention had a decrease in the mean score of anxiety, which was 2.48 with a deviation of 1.455. The difference in the decrease in anxiety scores in children is 0.30. The results of the T-Dependent statistical test obtained a value of p= 0.001Conclusion: In other words, the results of this study can show differences in the level of anxiety in the intervention group with the group that did not use the audio visual intervention

    Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a global health problem, Indonesia had the second rank of the case in the world after India which is the fourth cause of death. Giving vitamin D together with anti-tuberculosis drugs can increase healing proses because vitamin D (anti-microbial immunomodulators) kills Mycobacterium tuberculosis.Objectives: This study aims to measure the effect of giving anti-tuberculosis drugs with vitamin D on changes in AFB in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.Methods: This study was used a quasi-experiment design, pre-test and post-test control group was doing at 25th March – 25th July 2019. This research has been conducted in Pidie Regency. The intervention group (17 samples with tuberculosis drugs) was given Softgels vitamin D 5000 IU for 4 months, while the control group was only anti-tuberculosis drug therapy. The data were analyzed statistically using the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests at a significance level of 95%.Results: Before the intervention, the BTA status of both the intervention and control group was similar (p= 0.061). After the intervention, there was a decrease in AFB interactions (p= 0.000). There was a decrease in the contribution of AFB in the control group before with after intervention (p= 0.000). There are those who support (p= 0.033) giving vitamin D the acceleration of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment. Conclusion: It is better to administer vitamin D to the successful treatment of pulmonary TB in patients undergoing anti-tuberculosis drug therapy

    Food supplement consumption does not related to self-reported symptoms of covid-19 among students in Binawan University

    The world is facing a pandemic of COVID-19. Multivitamin and other supplement is already known can improve immunity and prevent infected by the virus. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of multivitamin/supplement intake with the appearance of COVID-19 symptoms. The method of this study was analytic surveys with cross-sectional designs. The questionnaire was distributed twice, the first distribution phase involved 423 respondents to determine the consumption habits of supplements and the appearance of COVID-19 symptoms. Then, from the respondents who consumed supplements, the second questionnaire was sent again, to find out the type of supplements consumed, and only 127 respondents returned completely. As a respondent, we involved students of Binawan University, Jakarta, Indonesia. We used Pearson Chi-Square and Fischer exact test for statistical analysis. The results of this study noted that 67.7% of respondents consumed supplements/multivitamin, 94.8% of respondents did not show symptoms of COVID-19. The type of supplement consumed by most respondents was vitamin C (51.2%), while multivitamins / other vitamins were 20.1%. In conclusion, based on statistical analysis, there was no significant relationship between supplement consumption with the appearance of COVID-19 and conditions in carrying out daily activities on respondents who show COVID-19 symptom

    Background: Soft foods are foods with a texture that is easy to chew, swallow, digest than regular food. The purpose of administration is to be easily swallowed and digested according to nutritional needs and disease conditions. Modification of recipes is very important to improve the appearance in shape, taste, color, aroma, and temperature of food so that it can be well received by patients.Objectives: The aim was to determine the effect of soft food modification on the level of patient satisfaction and food waste at the Meuraxa General Hospital in Banda Aceh City.Methods: Quasi-experimental research design. This research was conducted at Meuraxa Public Hospital in Banda Aceh City. Which will be carried out from November to December 2018. The population in this study is all inpatients at the Meuraxa general hospital in Banda Aceh city from November to December receiving soft diets. The sample in this study was carried out using the purposive sampling technique in which the sample taken in the Arrahman Room and Arafat Room. Quantitative data analysis with an independent sample t-test was performed to compare food scraps before modification and after modifications to the soft food menu, the data presentation was presented in tabular and narrative form.Results: The rest of the food on the 3rd menu after statistical tests using the t-test can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the remaining rice on the modification of soft foods before and after modification (p < 0.05). Soft food scraps on the 4th menu showed a significant effect between vegetable residues on modified soft foods before and after they were modified (p < 0.05). Soft food residues on the 5th menu before and after modification also showed a significant effect between vegetable residues on modification of soft foods before and after modification (p < 0.05).Conclusion: Modifications to the menu on soft foods showed a significant influence on the level of patient satisfaction and food waste at the Meuraxa District General Hospital in Banda Aceh. Suggestions, modification of soft food menu can be used as an alternative dish that can be served to inpatients
