EKSTRAK BIT MERAH (BETA VULGARIS L) MENINGKATKAN EKSPRESI RESEPTOR ESTROGEN-α PADA RATTUS NORVEGICUS BETINA YANG DIPAPAR ASAP ROKOK
ABSTRACTBackground: Cigarette smoke contains about 4000 chemical compounds that are harmful and toxic to human health. Exposure to cigarette smoke causes oxidative stress in the endometrium, thereby inhibiting the proliferation of endometrial cells through various mechanisms that result in disruption of the menstrual cycle and contribute to infertility. Objective: The aim of the study was to prove the effect of red beetroot extract (Beta vulgaris L) on the expression of estrogen receptor in female white rats (Rattus norvegicus) exposed to cigarette smoke. Methods: The research method is True Experimental Post Test Only Control Group using 25 white female Rattus Norvegicus rats divided into 2 control groups and 3 treatment groups by giving red beet extract orally at a dose of 125 mg/KbBW/day, 250 mg/KgBW/ day, and 500 mg/KgBW/day and exposed to cigarette smoke as much as 2 sticks/day for 8 weeks. Then, uterine organ was taken to measure the expression of estrogen receptor by immunohistochemical method. Results: This study showed that cigarette smoke exposure decreased the amount of estrogen receptor expression between the control group and the treatment group who were exposed to cigarette smoke for 8 weeks (56 days). Conclusion: The administration of red beet extract at a dose of 125 mg/KbBW/day, 250 mg/KgBW/day, and 500 mg/KgBW/day had an effect on increasing the expression of estrogen receptors in female Rattus Norvegicus rats exposed to cigarette smoke.
Background: Transmission of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is strongly influenced by the presence of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. The most effective method for tackling DHF is by killing the presence of Aedes aegypti larvae. Reducing the negative impact of using chemical larvicides can be done through a safer alternative model, namely natural larvicides from plants. The plant studied with a characteristic ability to kill Aedes aegypti larvae is papaya leaves. Papaya leaf extract contains compounds of alkaloids, flavonoids, papain, saponins, tannins, and papain, which can kill Aedes aegypti larvae. Objective: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya Linn) and the effect of concentration as Aedes aegypti larvicide.Method: The design used in this study was experimental, using 240 Aedes aegypti larvae, three treatments, and three repetitions. The research was carried out at the Laboratory of the Environmental Health Department of Aceh Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health in 2021. The data was collected through observations every 1 hour for the first 3 hours. The analysis used was the One Way Anova statistical test and continued with the Least Significance Different (LSD) test at 95% CI.Results: The results showed that the average mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae was at a concentration of 10% (10), a concentration of 20% (13), and a concentration of 30% (16). The results of the Anova test showed that giving papaya leaf extract affected the mortality of Aedes aegypti larvae (p = 0.000). The most effective concentrations in killing Aedes aegypti larvae were 20% and 30%.Conclusion: Papaya leaf extract was very effective as a larvacide of Aedes aegypti, and it was found that concentrations of 20% and 30% were the best formulas for larvicides
Sanitasi rumah dan stunting di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Labuan Kabupaten Donggala
Poor home sanitation can increase the risk of stunting in children. The study aims to analyze the risk factors for stunting based on house conditions, sanitation facilities, and occupant behavior. Observational research using a case-control study design was carried out in September–December 2020. The sample size was 60 toddlers (30 cases and 30 controls) taken randomly by simple arithmetic. Case samples are stunted toddlers based on e-PPGBM data. The control sample is a typical toddler who is the closest neighbor to the case with age equivalence. Respondents were mothers of toddlers. Data on the physical condition of the house and sanitation facilities were obtained through direct observation, while data on the behavior of the house occupants were obtained through interviews. Data processing was carried out by cleaning and editing, coding for categorical variables, entry and data processing. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test and odds ratio at 95% CI. The house's physical condition (p= 0,058; OR= 8,83) and the behavior of the householder in managing sanitation are risk factors for stunting (p= 0,002; OR= 6,91). In conclusion, toddlers who live in houses with physical conditions that do not meet health requirements are at risk of experiencing stunting 8,83 times. Residents of houses whose behavior does not meet sanitation requirements risk 6,91 times experiencing stunting in toddlers

Potret pengetahuan bidan Puskesmas/Desa dalam mendeteksi status gizi buruk pasca sosialisasi GEMPITA ASA di Provinsi Aceh
Background: Midwives are the health professionals responsible for educating the public and recognizing nutritional issues in infants. The use of the MUAC scale is a straightforward and highly sensitive approach for detecting nutritional problems in toddlers. The use of the MUAC scale for toddlers is anticipated to provide an independent technique for detecting nutritional abnormalities in toddlers, particularly malnutrition. Objective: To describe the knowledge of midwives in Aceh Province on the detection of severely underweight and underweight using anthropometric indicators and the usage of the MUAC scale for toddlers.Method: This research is a cross-sectional examination of a program's effectiveness. This study's sample consisted of 553 community health center/village midwives from the Aceh province. The knowledge of midwives was assessed via a questionnaire administered following the "National Nutrition Day Webinar: Preventing child mortality through early detection of nutritional issues" presentation. Data processing begins with the processes of editing, coding, and cleansing. The analysis of data was performed univariately. Results: Results indicated that the community health center/village midwives' ability to diagnose growth abnormalities in children under the age of five fell into three categories: moderate (68.0%), good (14.1%), and very good (17.9%). In addition, more than 50% of community health center/village midwives are aware of the function of the MUAC scale (severely underweight if the MUAC < 11.5 cm), but more than 50% are unaware of the criterion for malnourished children (if they meet one of the criteria). Indicators, specifically WHZ index < -3 SD; MUAC < 11.5 cm, and the presence of edema. Conclusion: The midwives are more adept at identifying malnutrition and undernutrition in children under five than anthropometrists are at doing so

Sensitivitas dan spesifisitas kartu menuju sehat model tikar monitoring pertumbuhan dalam mendeteksi stunting pada balita
One of the obstacles faced in determining the diagnosis of stunting is the complexity and lack of accuracy of health workers, especially Integrated Healthcare Center (called Posyandu) cadres, in using current equipment (microtoice) and the lack of accuracy of nutrition workers in interpreting nutritional status. The purpose of the study was to measure the validity of the KMS Tikar through sensitivity and specificity testing in detecting stunting in toddlers. The study used a Research & Development design, with the gold standard using a body length board and Z-Score calculation from 2005 WHO reference standard, carried out in 30 clusters in Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar, from April to October 2019, and a sample of all children aged 0-24 months which is as many as 204 children. Data was collected through anthropometric measurements such as length and age and z-score data on the HAZ index. The WHO Anthro processed the data. The analysis was carried out with the Se and Sp tests. The results showed that children's body length measurement with both tools (Gold standard and growth chart is a mat model) had 0,073 cm. At the same time, the proportion of nutritional status in the stunting category was more commonly found in measurements using growth charts of mats (23,5%) compared to Gold Standards (12, 3%). The validity test results obtained a very high sensitivity value (100%) with a specificity of—87,15%. While the positive predictive value is 52,08%, and the negative predictive value is 100%. In conclusion, the growth monitoring mat growth chart has high sensitivity and specificity value and is very good for use as a tool to detect stunting in children aged 0-24 months
