Pengaruh ekstrak daun durian (Durio zibethinusmurr) terhadap kematian larva nyamuk aedes aegypti
Background: The Aedes aegypti mosquito is the main vector for dengue fever. Larvicidal eradication is a vector control program worldwide. The most commonly used larvicide is abated. Durian leaves contain saponins, flavonoids, and steroids where saponins will interfere with the lipoid layer and disrupt the endocuticular protein layer so that toxic compounds easily enter the body of the larvae. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effect of durian leaf extract on the death of Aedes aegypti larvae. Methods: Using 240 Aedes aegypti larvae with three treatments and three repetitions, observations of the number of dead larvae were carried out every 90 minutes for 5 hours, and data were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA test and LSD test. Results: The results showed that the average number of dead mosquito larvae at a concentration of 10 ml/100 ml (12 larvae); a concentration of 20 ml/100 ml (15 dead larvae); and a concentration of 30 ml/100 ml (18 dead larvae); The results of the ANOVA test showed that there was an effect of giving durian leaf extract on the death of Aedes aegypti larvae with a value of p = 0.004. The LSD test results showed that there was a significant difference in the number of dead mosquito larvae between concentrations of 30 ml, 20 ml, and 10 ml.Conclusion: It can be concluded that durian leaf extract can kill Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae, so it can be used as an alternative larvicide

Brownies daun kelor dan tempe tinggi protein serta zat besi bagi ibu hamil anemia
Indonesia has a significant problem with iron deficiency or anemia in pregnant women. Therefore, alternatives to iron supplementation are needed to prevent iron nutritional anemia. The study aimed to assess the organoleptic acceptance and nutritional value (proximate test, Fe and Energy) of moringa brownie cake substituted with tempeh flour. The research design used a Randomized Control Trial (RCT) design with five replications. Brownies and organoleptic tests were made at the Nutrition Laboratory of the Tanjungkarang Health Polytechnic. Proximate, iron, and energy tests were conducted at the POLINELA Agricultural Technology Laboratory in 2021. Moringa leaves were added to the brownies. There are five treatments with different compositions in brownies, namely 100%:0 (F1), 85%:15 (F2), 75%:25 (F3), 65%:35 (F4), and 55%:45 (F5). Data processing was done organoleptically. Data analysis used the ANOVA test and DMRT test. The results showed that the best and most preferred brownie cake was in formula F3 (p= 0,007) with a 75% wheat flour ratio: 25% tempeh flour. The best brownie cake has a nutritional content of 21,08% water; 23,41% fat; 5,53% protein; 1,15% ash; 1,17% crude fiber, and 49.64% carbohydrates, Fe value of 10.2 mg, an energy value of 492 kcal/100g. In conclusion, substituting tempeh flour affects the organoleptic test of various moringa brownies. The best moringa brownie cake was obtained in formulation F3
Pola konsumsi makanan keluarga miskin perkotaan dalam pusaran kapitalisme nutrisi
Low-income families' understanding of nutrition is still irrational because they still use myths about consumption that cause malnutrition in their children. It is exacerbated by the influence of advertising so that the behavior of family consumption patterns is systematically constructed. The research explores the transformation of consumer behavior that causes malnutrition and the role of nutrition capitalism in meeting nutritional needs. A qualitative study design using a critical paradigm was conducted in Makassar City in 2021. Research informants are urban low-income families. Data were collected using interviews and Focus Group Discussions and analyzed qualitatively. The result is that malnutrition in low-income families is caused by people's knowledge and tastes constructed by industrial power and leads people to consume industrial food. The transformation of consumption behavior of low-income families is caused by the operation of nutritional capitalism, which is present in various forms such as industrial processed food advertisements and franchise outlets. In conclusion, the consumption behavior of the poor is constructed by food and beverage capitalism. In addition, the advertising factor has an impact on nutritional capitalism
Nutrition facts and antioxidant activity of spices biscuits as functional snacks to immune booster
The decline in the number of COVID-19 does not return people's conditions to the period before the pandemic. Efforts to prevent the spread of the coronavirus are still being carried out by implementing health protocols and keeping the body's immunity in top shape, one of which is by consuming balanced nutritious foods high in antioxidants. The research aims to develop high-antioxidant biscuits made from local flour and spices as a functional snack to increase the body's immune system. The research was held from September 2021 until January 2022 at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta. The research design was experimental, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The biscuit formulation process was carried out by substituting wheat flour with purple sweet potato flour at five different ratios (4:0, 3:1, 2:2, 1:3, 0:4) and adding seven types of spices (Ginger, Cinnamon, Turmeric, Kencur, Lemongrass, Curcuma, and Cloves) with the same amount for each formula—a total of 30 semi-trained panelists in the sensory test. Data were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis. Proximate analysis and antioxidant analysis using the AOAC method and DPPH method. The results showed that the selected formula based on the sensory test was F2 with a ratio of wheat flour to purple sweet potato flour of 2:2. The hedonic test showed that there were significant differences in the color, texture, and aftertaste on biscuits (p=0,000, p=0,031, p=0,023 respectively). F2 is the formula the panelists chose, which has nutrition facts that meets SNI biscuits (2011) and has intense antioxidant activity (14,6 ug/mg)
Factors related to the level of iron adequacy of adolescent girls in Indonesia
Anemia remains a nutritional problem in Indonesia, where more than 50% of the incidence is due to iron deficiency caused by low quality and quantity of food consumed and iron intake sources. Low iron intake did not affect iron adequacy. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with iron adequacy among adolescent girls in Indonesia. This study used a cross-sectional design and secondary data from the National Survey of Food Consumption (NSFC) in Indonesia in 2014. The number of participants was 11.766 adolescent girls aged 10-18 years. Data were collected using the NSFC 2014 questionnaire and the food consumption collection method using a food recall 24 hour. Statistical analysis was performed using the chi-squared test and Logistic Regression to identify the factors influencing iron adequacy. The results showed that the iron intake of adolescent girls in Indonesia was 10 mg/day, with an adequate iron level of 42,9%. Logistic regression showed that the most influential factors (p<0,05) were age, place of residence, economic status, and consumption of cereals, vegetables, nuts, fruits, and animal foods. In conclusion, the factors associated with the iron adequacy level of adolescent girls in Indonesia are age, region of residence, economic status, and consumption of cereals, vegetables, nuts, fruits, and animal foods
Developing a nutrition education model based on local wisdom for adolescents to prevent Stunting in the early stage: a preliminary study
Anemia among adolescents in Indonesia has increased since 2007 until now, as well as worldwide. Anemia had affected their growth and development, along with cognitive abilities, making them susceptible to infectious diseases. Cognitive ability is closely related to the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of adolescents as internal factors. This study was an introductory study in the development of nutrition education based on local wisdom for adolescents with anemia as early prevention. A qualitative study was conducted in October 2020 in Cirebon District, West Java. The participants consisted of 10 people (eight stakeholders and two experts). Data were collected through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with instruments as a guide in collecting information data. Data were recorded with the subject's consent, transcribed word for word, and analyzed based on the listed theme by the researcher. Results from the survey stated that using digital development 4,0 learning models will be applied through blended learning and integrated into students' extracurricular activities, using a variety of learning methods and media according to adolescents' development. Thus, this study involved various government sectors to apply the nutrition education model in schools through government policies. Furthermore, it may become a preventive measure for adolescents with anemia
Stunting policy convergence model in South Buton Regency
Stunting is not only related to health problems, but it is related to various other conditions that do not directly affect health, such as low productivity of human resources. The right policy implementation model will greatly assist in preventing stunting in society. This study aimed to model the convergence of local government policies in stunting prevention efforts by paying attention to organizational and inter-organizational behavior, lower control behavior, and target group behaviour. The study used a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with 14 informants, while the secondary data came from the relevant regional apparatus organizations data. Then it was analyzed in several stages, namely the stage of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study were that behaviour and between organizations form a commitment to contribute to stunting prevention, then at the behavioural level the organization really understood the role and function in carrying out stunting prevention and control programs, and the behaviour of the target group showed different responses positively and negatively. So that, it could be concluded consistency of policy implementers must determine shared commitments and common goals in stunting prevention
Correlation of anthropometric sizes with blood presure, total cholesterole level, and blood fasting glucose level in young adult
Obesity and overweight raised cardiovascular disease risk through metabolic disfunction. Anthropometric is a simple and non invasive examination that can be used to detect metabolic disorders. This study aimed to evaluated correlation of anthropometic sizes (BMI, WC, WHR, and skinfold) with systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP), total cholesterol (TC), and fasting blood glucose (FBG). This cross sectional study involved 88 young adults as subject in 2019. Total cholesterol and fasting blood glucose was examined by digital rapid test, taken in the morning after 10-12 hours fasting. Datas were analyzed univariately to describe each variable. Then, datas were analyzed bivariately using Pearson correlation test for BMI, WC, WHR, TC, FBG, and Spearman rho test for skinfold and BP. The study showed that BMI correlated with dyastolic BP, and total cholesterol (p<0,05). WC correlated with systolic BP and diastolic BP (p<0,05). Biceps skinfold correlated with systolic BP, dyastolic BP, and total cholesterol (p<0,05). Triceps skinfold correlated with systolic BP, dyastolic BP, and total cholesterol (p<0,05). Suprailiaca skinfold correlated with systolic BP, dyastolic BP, and total cholesterol (p<0,05). In Conclusion, anthropometric can be used as predictor of total cholesterol level and blood pressure in young adult subjects.
