    Low-fat, high-protein, and fiber drink as an alternative to daily snack

    Obesity is one of the causing factors of various degenerative diseases. Walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, oats, and soy milk are nutritional ingredients that can help prevent disease and have the potential to be developed as health drink products. This study aims to make a supplement drink and find the results of the organoleptic test and its nutritional content. This study is an experimental, non-factorial, Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and three repetitions. The study was conducted in the Laboratory of Nutrition Department of Health Polytechnic of Palembang from March to April 2022. Organoleptic test data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis Test. The results showed that the best acceptance is the F1 formula. Based on Kruskal Wallis Test, it shows that the amount of composition of each ingredient makes a significant difference to organoleptic quality parameters of color (p=0,046) and taste (p=0,046) between formula In 100 grams of powder contains 381,65 kcal of energy, energy from fat 13,41 kcal, protein 26,31%, fat 1,49%, carbohydrates 65,75%, dietary fiber 22,54%, water content 3,53 %, ash content 2,92%, vitamin B3 0,87 mg, vitamin E 2,28 mg, omega 3 117,9 mg, omega 6 705,6 mg, linolenic acid 0,12%, unsaturated fatty acids monounsaturated 0,49%, polyunsaturated fatty acids 0,82%, calcium 166,31 mg, Fe 4,28 mg, magnesium 286,64 mg, selenium 21,61 mcg, and chromium 12,61 mcg. In conclusion, Fortipro Blended is low in fat, high in protein, and high in fiber based on the nutrient analysis test results

    Penerapan Oketani Breast Massage (OBM) pada ibu postpartum dengan pendekatan Evidence Based Nursing Practice (EBNP)

    Background: Oketani Breast Massage (OBM) is one way to reduce lactation problems in postpartum mothers. So far, not much is known about OBM overcoming lactation problems. OBM has no complications in postpartum patients and babies who are breastfedreastfed, but the hospital has not yet performed this procedure. OBM can be performed by nurses, patients, and their family.Objectives: to describe the application of Oketani Breast Massage (OBM) specifically for postpartum mothers after Sectio Caesarea (SC) with ineffective breastfeeding problems at Dr Zainoel Abidin General Hospital Banda Aceh.Methods: the design used in this study was a case study with a cross-sectional approach involving 3 postpartum SC mothers with the same nursing problem, namely ineffective breastfeeding. The instruments used were a Maternity nursing care format and a tool for measuring breast milk volume. OBM is carried out for 3 days with a frequency of 2 times a day with a duration of 15-30 minutes. Collection was carried out on August 29-September 17, 2022 in the Postpartum room at Rumah Saki Umum Daerah (RSUD) dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. The Methode of collecting data was by observation, interviews, measuring the amount of milk production, and the baby’s urinary frequency. Data processing is done descriptively, and data presentation is only descriptively.Results: after respondent OBM intervention was carried out for 3 days each respondent's, the breastfeeding problem in postpartum mothers was resolved. The results showed an increase in the amount of milk production, the frequency of breastfeeding was more than 6 times/day, and the frequency of the baby's urination was more than 5 times/daythe. T baby's bowel movements frequency was 1-2 times/day, and the baby slept quietly.Conclusion: this study's results align with previous studies which state that implementing the OBM intervention for postpartum SC mothers can increase and facilitate milk production

    Impact of service effectiveness and telemedicine use on patient satisfaction using telemedicine X hospital, Semarang City in Covid-19 pandemic

    Background: Since the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19), face-to-face services were initially limited, and communication between doctors and patients during a pandemic was less effective, so health services changed. Telemedicine, which was initially only communication between hospital departments or between hospitals, has become all kinds of communication, such as patient-doctor, patient-nurse, patient-pharmacy and so on, using Telemedicine. The use of telemedicine services is one of the strategies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 because Telemedicine provides health services using electronic communication technology. Patients and medical personnel do not need to meet in person in one place but still communicate through the application. Patient satisfaction in using Telemedicine is a crucial and vital indicator that needs to be considered to improve the quality of telemedicine medical services.Objectives: To analyze the relationship between the effectiveness of services and the use of Telemedicine on patient satisfaction using Telemedicine.Methods: Quantitative with a retrospective descriptive research design. Data was collected using an online questionnaire for 350 patients at Hospital X in Semarang City. Patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were taken by purposive sampling. The analysis of this study included univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses. The chi-square test and logistic regression were used in this study.Results: Regarding the effectiveness of the service and use of Telemedicine, most respondents rated the service's effectiveness as good, 139 (92,1%) of respondents, and the majority of respondents considered the use of Telemedicine to support as many as 136 (90,1%) of respondents. Patient satisfaction showed that most respondents were satisfied, as many as 140 (92,7%) respondents. The relationship between service effectiveness and patient satisfaction demonstrates that the service effectiveness variable is significantly related to patient satisfaction (p-value = 0,006 ≤ Level of Significant = 0,05). The relationship between telemedicine use and patient satisfaction shows that telemedicine use has a significant relationship with patient satisfaction (p-value = 0,014 ≤ Level of Significant = 0,05).Conclusion: most of the respondents rated the effectiveness of the service as good, most of the respondents supported the use of Telemedicine, most of the respondents were satisfied, and the variable of service effectiveness was significantly related to patient satisfaction

    Risk factors associated with blood vitamin D levels in COVID-19 patients

    The two main factors associated with infectious diseases are the presence of antigens that enter the body and the immune system. It has been recently reported that vitamin D may be associated with the immune system. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between blood vitamin D levels and the occurrence of COVID-19 infection. This study used a cross-sectional approach for analytical survey research. The population in this study were all lecturers at Malahayati University. The total population participating in this study was 62 lecturers at Malahayati University. Direct competitive chemiluminescence immunoassays were used to measure vitamin D levels, while interviews collected other variables. Logistic regression analysis has been used to analyze the collected data. Results: There was a significant relationship between vitamin D levels and the incidence of COVID-19 infection (p= 0,020; OR= 4,9) & the habit of always wearing long clothes for more than 10 years is significantly related to blood vitamin D levels (p= 0,021; OR= 5,07). In conclusion, the lower the vitamin D level, the greater the risk of being infected with COVID-19, and the longer you wear long clothes, the higher the risk of having low blood vitamin D levels

    Nutritional anemia in adolescents has an impact on decreasing learning concentration and low learning achievement. Adolescent girls who are anemic are at risk of becoming anemic women of childbearing age, then becoming anemic mothers who can experience chronic energy deficiency during pregnancy later. Red dragon fruit and moringa leaves are known to  have a high level of  vitamin C,  rich in iron, and other bioactive compound. However, the potency of the combination between Hylocereus polyrhizus juice and Moringa Leaf Powder towards Hemoglobin level in Adolescent girls is still remain unknown. The purpose of this study was to know the effect of giving a mixture  of hylocereus polyrhizus juice and Moringa leaf powder on hemoglobin levels in  adolescent girls. A Quasy Experimental study was conducted in this study with two intervention  groups and one control group. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 60 students especially adolescent girls from Senior High School 3 in Bengkulu City in May 2022. Statistical analysis using One Way Anova test and Bonferonni Post Hoc test. A mixture of Hylocereus polyrhizus juice and moringa leaf powder was significantly associated with increasing hemoglobin levels than group that was given hylocereus polyrhizus  juice only with p value = 0,000  (p <0,05)

    Effect of multiple micronutrient supplementation in pregnant women on infant birth weight

    The nutritional requirements of pregnant women increase with the gestational age. A low nutritional status is poor for both mothers and infants. Infant birth weight is influenced by nutritional intake during pregnancy. Therefore, multiple micronutrients (MMN) are needed for mothers during pregnancy to prevent low birth weight. This study aimed to determine the effect of MMN on infant birth weight at the Asian Waluyo Jati Clinic. The research method used a quasi-experimental design, with a posttest-only control group design involving 50 pregnant women (25 intervention and 25 control groups). This study was conducted at the Asih Waluyo Jati Clinic, Yogyakarta, in 2022. The intervention group received MMN supplementation starting in the 2nd trimester and standardized prenatal care, whereas the control group received standardized prenatal care throughout pregnancy. Both groups were monitored during the 2nd trimester of pregnancy until delivery. Data were analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U test. The results showed a difference in the mean birth weight of the infants in both groups (1,64 grams). MMN supplementation in the intervention group and standard pregnancy care effectively increased the infants' birth weight by 1,64 grams (p= 0,000). In conclusion, MMN supplementation increased the average birth weight of infants

    Background: Filariasis is a disease caused by parasitic nematodes of Filariae. Filariasis is caused by filarial worm species, namely Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and Brugia timori. This disease is transmitted through the bite of infected mosquitoes (Anopheles, Aedes, and Culex). Symptoms of filariasis in men or women include damage to the lymphatic system swelling of the arms, legs, and genitals, which causes pain, decreased productivity, and social problems. Filarial diagnosis through examination of blood smears to detect filarial parasites in the blood, accompanied by hematological and clinical chemical examinationsObjective: This study aimed to describe filariasis through blood tests (blood smears, hematological examinations, and clinical chemistry examinations) on filariasis respondents using a cross-sectional approach.Method: This type of descriptive research uses a cross-sectional approach. The research subjects were 6 filarial respondents in Pedurungan District, Semarang City. The examination was conducted at the Tologosari Wetan and Kulon Health Centers on September 12-18, 2020. Secondary data collection was obtained from capillary blood examination using thin blood smears, automatic hematological examination using a hematology analyzer, and clinical chemistry examination using the spectrophotometer method with a spectrophotometer. The research data was processed and analyzed using Univariate analysis using maximum, minimum, and average values.Results: Hematological examination for hemoglobin level of 12,5 g%, leukocytes 3200 cells/ml, platelets 137.00 cells, erythrocytes 4,07x106 cells, lymphocytes 35 cells, neutrophils 73 cells, eosinophils 1 cell, monocytes 9 cells, MCH 30,78 pg, MCV 86,48 fl, MCHC 36,24 g/l and clinical chemistry examination results for cholesterol 145,7 g/dl and triglycerides 104,6 g/dl. Meanwhile, on examination of thin blood smears, microfilariae were found.Conclusion: The results of the blood smear evaluation showed an abnormality in the size of the red blood cells in the form of microcytic (smaller red blood cell size), and filarial findings were found. In contrast, hematology and clinical chemistry examination results obtained normal results.

    Penambahan tepung mocaf dan bekatul pada kue Bangkit sebagai penambah serat makanan selingan remaja putri

    Background: Fiber consumption among adolescents in Indonesia is still low. Efforts can be made to meet fiber consumption by innovating food products that teenagers like. One is adding mocaf flour and rice bran to Bangkit cake, which teenagers like.Objectives: The study aimed to produce the best Bangkit cake formula that is high in fiber and to calculate the contribution of nutrients from Bangkit cake to the nutritional and fiber adequacy of adolescents.Methods: Experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and one control. The subjects were 56 untrained panelists in the adolescent age group. Bangkit cake making was carried out in the Food Technology laboratory, and organoleptic tests were carried out in the sensory laboratory of the Palembang Polytechnic Nutrition Department. Nutrient analysis was conducted at Saraswanti Indo Genetech laboratory in Bogor. The research was conducted from July - September 2022. Organoleptic test data were processed by tabulating tested with the Kruskal Wallis test followed by the Mann-Whitney U test with a 95% confidence level.Results: Formula F3 is the best formula with the addition of 45% mocaf flour and 25% rice bran. With 473,07 Kcal/100 g energy, 6,15% protein, 19,71% fat, 67,77% carbohydrate, 2,12% ash, 4,25% water and 15,07% fiber. Each serving of Bangkit cake of as much as 50 grams (7 pieces) contributes 10% energy, 4,86% protein, 13,7% fat, 9,96% carbohydrate, and 23,83% fiber from the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA). There was a significant difference between the acceptability of Bangkit cake substituted with mocaf flour and rice bran on taste, texture, aftertaste, and overall (p≤0,05), and there was no difference between the acceptability of Bangkit cake modification on aroma and color (p>0,05).Conclusion: Bangkit cake contributes quite well in fulfilling nutrients, especially fiber. The acceptability of Bangkit cake substituting mocaf flour and rice bran is highly preferred in the taste, texture, aftertaste, and overall. However, the aroma and color are not so preferred

    Background: One of the most common types of fly species is the house fly (Musca domestica). An increase in the fly population is associated with increased diarrhea, dysentery, and cholera. Control of flies by chemical means is no longer recommended because it can cause pollution or damage to the environment or is not environmentally friendly. An alternative to controlling house flies can be done by using anti-fly plants, which have a sharp odor. Papaya leaves contain alkaloids, karpain, papain enzymes, vitamins C and E, saponins, flavonoids, and tannins.Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of papaya leaf extract (Carica papaya L.) on the control of the housefly (Musca domestica).Method: This type of quasi-experimental research with Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The research location was carried out at the Laboratory of the Department of Environmental Health Poltekkes Aceh Ministry of Health in August 2022. The doses used were 15%, 25%, and 35%. The research object was papaya extract. Samples for each treatment were 15, repeated three times for each test. The serial concentrations used in this study were 15%, 25%, and 35%. Analysis of Variance analyzed data. (ANOVA) one way with 95% CI.Results: The average number of flies that died from the 35% dose was 6,75, and the 15% dose was only 2,9 flies. There was a significant effect on the average number of dead flies with varying doses of papaya leaf extract (p= 0,000). It is necessary to examine the phytochemicals for the content contained in papaya leaf extract, and it can be made in field trials.Conclusion: Papaya (Carica papaya L.) leaf extract at a dose of 35% can be used in controlling houseflies (Musca domestica) by spraying

    Background: Hemodialysis is an alternative therapy to replace kidney function for people with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Proper dialysis procedures must be maintained to maintain nutritional balance. Failure in the dialysis procedure results in loss of nutrients in the dialysate, which can increase catabolism and acid reflux.Objectives: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the length of hemodialysis and appetite and the nutritional status of CKD patients receiving hemodialysis therapy twice a week at UPTDK RSUD Dr. Soekardjo City of Tasikmalaya in 2023.Methods: The research design used cross-sectional with consecutive sampling, namely as many as 69 CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis—statistical analysis using a chi-square test.Results: Most of the respondents (73,9%) had been on hemodialysis for a long time (≥24 months), most of the respondents (76,8%) had less appetite, and the majority of respondents (78,3%) were malnourished. The results of the correlation test showed that there was a relationship between the length of hemodialysis with appetite (p = 0,022 and OR = 4,3; 95% CI = 1,298-14,240) and nutritional status (p = 0,000 and OR = 11,5; 3, 103-42,621).Conclusion: Length of hemodialysis in patients with CKD has a significant relationship with appetite and nutritional status
