Peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil tentang gingivitis melalui penyuluhan individual sebagai upaya pencegahan bayi berat lahir rendah (BBLR) di Gampong Kyee Leu Aceh Besar
The effects of pregnancy on dental and oral health include pregnancy gingivitis caused by increased concentrations of the hormones estrogen and progesterone in the continuation of gingival inflammation which is considered to affect fetal growth both through systemic infections (hematogens) and increased inflammatory mediators that cause low birth weight and premature babies. This community service aims to provide practical information that can be applied directly by pregnant women in preventing and treating gingivitis. The method of community service will be given face to face. The targets are pregnant women and posyandu cadres, Aceh Besar PKK cadres consisting of 30 people. Community Service Results, Increased Knowledge about the importance of dental and oral hygiene during pregnancy increased by 40%, Increased Knowledge about gingivitis and pregnancy complications such as BBLR 45%, Increased Knowledge about techniques and Frequency of brushing teeth at least 2 times a day 40%, Increased Use of herbal mouthwash (cocoa extract) 55%. There is an increase in pregnant women's knowledge about dental and oral hygiene, and behavioral changes in maintaining oral hygiene. suggestion, it is important to carry out continuous training for health cadres, and continuous support from the government and health workers is needed
Optimizing health screening education to prevent the double burden of malnutrition in early childhood educational institutions (ECD)
Background: Double nutritional burden is a health problem that often occurs in developing countries, one of which is Indonesia. A double nutritional burden is characterized by the presence of conditions of undernutrition and overnutrition at the same time in an area. The double nutritional burden is a serious problem that can impact children.s growth, development, and long-term health. The incidence of underweight, overweight, and stunting is still found at 6-10% in EDC Allifa.Objectives: To evaluate the impact of health education as a preventive action to overcome the problem of double nutritional burden on young children at Early Childhood Education Institutions (ECD).Methods: The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research was conducted in July 2023 at EDC of Allifa with all 14 EDC teachers. The intervention is in the form of providing health education to EDC teachers. A paired T-Test was used to know the effectiveness of the education.Results: The average pretest knowledge score was 78,21 while the posttest average was 92,50. The difference in average score before and after providing education is 14,92 with a p-value of 0,001 (CI 95%).Conclusion: There is a significant difference in knowledge scores between before and after being given health education. This shows that the health education provided has had an impact on participants. knowledge, with an increase in knowledge scores.
Edukasi pemanfaatan cangkang telur ayam menjadi produk pangan di Desa Lampisang Kabupaten Aceh Besar
Environmental waste that will be utilized as a product that has a high enough selling value and is friendly to the environment is eggshell processing. Indonesia is one of the many egg consumers from year to year with a variety of processed food products. The number of eggs eaten both chicken eggs and duck eggs makes the eggshell waste quite a lot. Therefore, this eggshell waste can be processed into one of the products, namely Cookies which is a food snack product, as a decoration or handicraft, as a producer of organic fertilizer, and so on. In general, this community service activity aims to increase community knowledge in order to process various foods using chicken eggshells. From the results of the acquisition of the average value of knowledge and skills of participants who took the pre-test and post-test, it can be seen that there was an increase in participants' knowledge by 41.20. From these results, it can be said that statistically there is a significant increase (p-value <0.05) between knowledge before and after education with a p value = 0.000. Education on the utilization of eggshells into processed products has a positive impact on increasing knowledge of the utilization of eggshells into processed food products
The effetiveness of various sequestrants on the reduction of cadmium and lead levels in Remis (Donax sp.)
Mussels (Donax sp.) are marine shellfish that tend to be contaminated with heavy metals as they are filter feeders. Heavy metal levels can be reduced by immersion in sequestrants. This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of the optimal sequestrant to reduce heavy metal levels in mussels. This experimental study was conducted at the Food Technology Laboratory of Padjadjaran University in January-April 2024 using samples of mussels (Donax sp.) from Cirebon, Indonesia. The data processing method used was a Randomized Group Design with five treatments consisting of soaking mussels in distilled water, 25% citric acid, 25% tamarind, 25% tomato, and 25% Pidada; each repeated 3x. The results showed that the most optimal organic sequestrant in reducing heavy metals was Pidada fruit with the effectiveness of reducing cadmium metal 21,195%, lead metal 6,543%, total citric acid 0.552%, water content 76.953%, and antioxidant activity based on IC50 value of 19,537 ppm with a very strong category. In conclusion, the Pidada fruit is the most optimal organic sequestrant for reducing heavy metal levels in mussels (Donax sp.) and has very strong antioxidant activity, making it effective for reducing heavy metal contamination

Background: Psychological well-being is a very important component in the training and development of nursing students, because it can increase productivity and success in the academic and training activities they undergo. If this psychological well-being problem is not resolved, it will affect students' social interaction, achievement and interest in learning and this will have a negative impact on the future process.Objectives: This study aims to analyze the factors related to the psychological well-being of nursing.Methods: This research has an analytical survey design with a correlational approach. The number of samples in this study was 642 respondents. The sampling technique in this research is total sampling. The research was conducted at a health polytechnic in Aceh in 2020. Data was collected using the Psychological Well-Being Scale questionnaire, Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale, Satisfaction With Life Scale via Google form and using Mann Whitney U Test analysis.Results: The results of the stepwise analysis show all independent variables, namely difficulties in social relations (p= 0.01), self-esteem (p= 0.01), depression (p= 0,01) and life satisfaction (p= 0,02) are the dominant predictors related to psychological well-being in Diploma III Nursing students. Conclusion: This research recommends planning interventions for nursing students to improve their psychological well-being, taking into account these dominant factors
Evaluasi efektifitas edukasi anemia pada remaja putri melalui permainan flashcard: Studi di SMPN 2 Jabon Kabupaten Sidoarjo
Background: Anemia is a serious global public health problem, especially in adolescents. The incidence of anemia in Sidoarjo Regency is 32.9% and there are 2271 students who are at risk of anemia. Good knowledge of adolescents about anemia, especially nutritional intake, can have an influence on the incidence of anemia and adolecents attitudes about anemia. Researchers designed an interesting and not yet widely used flashcard games.Objectives: The research aims to analyze the differences in knowledge and attitudes of young women before and after providing education about anemia using flashcard games.Method: The method used was a quasy experiment nonequivalent control group design, which was carried out at SMPN 2 Jabon. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling, targeting 84 junior high school students. Data was collected using a questionnaire sheet then processed and analyzed using SPSS (Mann Whitney test).Results: The mean difference in knowledge scores was 42.15 ± 9.764 (control group), 42.85 ± 9,764 (experimental group) and in attitude scores 46.25 ± 5.209 (control group) and 38.75 ± 5.209 (experimental group). The results of the Mann Whitney test are the sig value 0.895 (knowledge) and 0.158 (attitude), so it can be interpreted that there is no difference in the knowledge and attitudes of young women before and after being given anemia education with flashcard games (sig > 0.05).Conclusion: There is no difference in knowledge about anemia and there is no difference in respondents' attitudes regarding anemia.
Effects of healthy eating patterns based nutrition education and providing structured suplementary feeding on improving the nutritional status of stunted children
Nutrition education can improve mothers' knowledge in fulfilling nutritional needs among children under five years through provision of supplementary feeding. Local ingredients based supplementary feeding which had high nutritional value can contribute to improving the nutritional status of children. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of healthy eating patterns nutritional education and provision of supplementary feeding on improving the nutritional status of stunted children under five years. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-posttest with control group design carried out in Sidawangi Village in August-October 2023. The subjects were children under five years and their mothers (10 intervention group: 10 control group). The interventions were nutritional education and supplementary feeding for a month. Nutritional knowledge data was obtained from interviews using a questionnaire, and nutritional status data (Height-for-Age) was obtained based on z-score calculations. Data was analyzed using Wilxocon, Mann-Whitney, and independent t-test. The average difference in HAZ index in the intervention group (z-score: 0,81 SD) compared to the control group (z-score: -0,50 SD). There was a significant difference between the average difference in the HAZ index in the intervention group and the control group (p=0,001). Nutrition education improved nutritional knowledge of mothers in understanding nutrition education and supplementary feeding (p=0,042). In conclusion, nutritional education intervention can improve the nutritional knowledge of mothers and supplementary feeding can improve the nutritional status of children
Nutritional knowledge, diet quality and nutritional status of school-going adolescents in rural and urban areas in West Aceh
The primary nutritional problem of adolescents is the triple burden of malnutrition. Factors that trigger nutritional problems in adolescents include poor eating habits, low nutritional and socioeconomic knowledge, and sedentary activities. This study aimed to analyze differences in nutrition knowledge, diet quality, and their relationship with nutritional status among rural and urban school adolescents in West Aceh. This study used a cross-sectional design, involving 312 adolescent schools in West Aceh in 2023. Data on nutritional knowledge were collected using a questionnaire filled out by the subjects themselves, intake data using 2x24-hour food recall, and anthropometric measurements such as BAZ and Percent Body Fat (PBF) using BIA scales and microtoice. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney and Spearman rank tests. There were significant differences in family characteristics, nutritional knowledge, and diet quality between the rural and urban school adolescents (p<0,05). There was a significant positive relationship between nutritional knowledge and diet quality and BAZ and PBF (p<0,05) only among rural school adolescents. In conclusion, family characteristics, nutritional knowledge, and diet quality differed significantly among the adolescents by region. In rural areas, nutritional knowledge and diet quality were significantly associated with BAZ and PBF. School adolescents' knowledge and diet quality remain low; therefore, nutrition education related to balanced nutrition guidelines is required.
Prelacteal feeding practices with stunted in infants
Indonesia still has a high prevalence of stunting compared with several other Southeast Asian countries. The National Survey on Nutritional Status in Indonesia in 2022 reported that stunting in Indonesia was 18.5%, while Bangka Regency recorded a stunting prevalence of 16.2%. Feeding under the age of six months has become one of the factors of stunting. This requires concrete effort to handle the problem of stunting. This study aimed to assess the association between prelacteal feeding practices and infant stunting. The research used a cross-sectional design in the Kenangan Health Centre area, Bangka Regency, in May 2023. A sample of 173 infants aged 0-6 months was obtained using cluster random sampling. The height of the selected infants was measured using a lenghtboard and an infantometer. Interviews related to practical feeding were conducted with the parents using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation test with α= 0,05. The results showed that 14,5% of mothers gave prelacteal food to their infants until 6 months of age. There was a relationship between prelacteal feeding practices and stunting in the Kenanga Health Center working area (p= 0,001; r= -0,663). There was a negative correlation between prelacteal feeding practices and stunting. In conclusion, there is a significant negative relationship between prelacteal feeding practices and infant stunting
Literatur review : Konsumsi teh hijau (Camellia sinensis) terhadap penurunan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi
Background: A patient is diagnosed with hypertension if their diastolic blood pressure regularly rises to 90 mmHg or higher on multiple examinations, and their systolic blood pressure regularly rises to 140 mmHg or higher. Tea is a functional food that has quite high antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and anti-hypertensive content.Objectives: It is necessary to find out there is a connection between drinking green tea and lowering blood pressure in people with hypertension.Methods: This research uses a Systematic Literature Review with the PRISMA method. Protocol and SLR evaluation was carried out using the PRISMA method to select the research articles used. Articles obtained from Science Direct, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Keywords use English and Indonesian. Search terms in Indonesian included “green tea and blood pressure” OR “camellia sinensis and blood pressure” OR “green tea and hypertension” OR “camellia sinensis and hypertension”. Meanwhile, search terms in English include "Green Tea and blood pressure" OR "camellia sinensis and blood pressure" OR "green tea and hypertension" OR "camellia sinensis and hypertension". Based on an examination of the inclusion criteria for full text articles, open access, using quantitative methods, and publications released in 2019-2023, the final results were 7 articles used in this research.Results: It was found that consuming green tea can reduce blood pressure in people with hypertension. Regular tea consumption in hypertension sufferers can reduce systolic blood pressure by around −4,81 mmHg and reduce blood pressure by around −1,98 mmHg, with the recommendation of consuming 1-2 brews of green tea for 7 days.Conclusion: Giving green tea to people with hypertension can reduce blood pressure
