    Sosialisasi dan pelatihan aplikasi PSG Balita dalam menciptakan peluang usaha pada remaja gizi milenial

    Aceh mempunyai prevalensi masalah gizi kronis paling tinggi (24,3%), salah satu cara menurunkannya yaitu pemberdayaan keluarga. Pemberdayaan melalui pelatihan kepada masyarakat berbasis teknologi dan informasi untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik dalam memantau pertumbuhan dan perkembangan balita. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan/pemahaman remaja milenial dalam melakukan pemantauan pertumbuhan menggunakan aplikasi PSG Balita. Metode PKM menggunakan model pendidikan dan pelayanan dalam meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat. Dilakukan melalui pelatihan berupa penggunaan aplikasi PSG Balita bebasis android, dilingkungan Jurusan Gizi Poltekkes Kemenkes Aceh dan wilayah desa sekitarnya pada tahun 2021, dengan peserta binaan sebanyak 25 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara wawancara menggunakan kuesioner. Evaluasi berdasarkan hasil pretes dan postes, serta melakukan analisis statistik T-Dependent. Hasil menunjukkan, khalayak sasaran mempunyai pemahaman yang sangat bagus dalam penggunaan aplikasi PSG Balita, terlihat semua aspek pemahaman yaitu informasi kelengkapan (p= 0,004), keakuratan (0,000), manfaat (p= 0,000) dan kemudahan (p= 0,001) pada aplikasi PSG Balita berbasis android secara signifikan meningkat menjadi lebh baik (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan, kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan aplikasi PSG Balita berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan/pemahaman khalayak sasaran dalam melakukan penilaian status gizi secara antropometri

    Background: Dental and oral health issues are influenced by various factors, one of which is plaque formation. Controlling plaque can be achieved through mechanical and chemical means, such as brushing with toothpaste that contains ingredients capable of inhibiting plaque growth.Objectives: This study aimed to examine differences in plaque index among students who brushed their teeth using herbal versus non-herbal toothpaste at the Dental Health Department, Padang Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health.Methods: Employing a quasi-experimental design with a post-test group approach, this research included 71 third-year students from the department. The study measured plaque indices after brushing with either herbal or non-herbal toothpaste. Data analysis involved univariate and bivariate methods, with the Independent T-Test used for bivariate analysis.Results: Findings revealed that the average plaque index was 0.3 in the herbal toothpaste group and 0.4 in the non-herbal group. Statistical testing showed a ρ value of 0.02 (0.02 < 0.05) and a mean difference in plaque index of -1.04.Conclusion: This indicates a significant difference between the two groups, with herbal toothpaste showing a more favorable effect on plaque reduction

    Innovation and nutritional content analysis in making Kue Lumpur using green broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) puree as substitute ingredient

    Broccoli is abundant in fiber, vitamins, and minerals and is useful as a complement to main dishes. However, the use of broccoli during baking is still limited. Therefore, an experiment was conducted to explore the use of broccoli as a substitute in the recipe of a traditional cake, Kue Lumpur, as a traditional Indonesian snack for various events. This study aimed to determine how to make green broccoli puree, the process of making Kue Lumpur with green broccoli puree substitution, the response of panelists, and the nutritional content of Kue Lumpur from green broccoli puree substitution. The experimental design research was conducted at Makassar State University from December 2021 to February 2022. The participants were 16 trained panelists. Data collection was carried out using documentation and questionnaires (Scoresheet). The process of making broccoli puree involves separation, blanching, steaming, and mashing in four formulations: F1 (10%), F2 (20%), F3 (30%), and F4 (40%). Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's t-test. The organoleptic Kue Lumpur with green broccoli puree substitution had significant acceptability (p<0,05) in formula F2 (20% green broccoli puree and 80% potato) according to color, texture, and taste.  In conclusion, Kue Lumpur in formula F2 is very good based on organoleptic and hedonic properties, and shows that the aroma tends to be more fragrant and preferred

    Efficacy of edamame vs. almond consumption on total cholesterol in reproductive-age women

    Hypercholesterolemia in adults over 18 years of age poses a significant health risk. Reproductive-age women are susceptible to this condition owing to unhealthy dietary habits, notably consumption of fast food. This study aimed to investigate the potential of edamame and almonds to lower blood cholesterol levels. This study employed a pre-test post-test group design following a 6-week intervention. Twenty-eight participants were recruited through consecutive sampling conducted in Purwokerto between March and August of 2022. Statistical analyses were performed using independent and paired t-tests. Results indicated no significant difference in the effectiveness of edamame and almonds in reducing total cholesterol levels among reproductive-age women (p= 0,534). After consumption of 48,8 g/d edamame for 6 weeks, a substantial decrease in total cholesterol levels was observed (p= 0,004), with a mean reduction of 17,79 ± 19,11 mg/dL. Conversely, the intervention with 42,5 g/d of almonds for 6 weeks did not significantly change total cholesterol levels (p= 0,193), yielding a mean reduction of 11,57 ± 31,51 mg/dL. In conclusion, the consumption of edamame for six weeks is effective in lowering total cholesterol levels among women of reproductive age

    Stress level and emotional eating in obese and non-obese adolescents

    The association between stress factors and emotional eating can contribute to the development of obesity. Boredom, stress, anxiety, and depression can lead to emotional eating, which involves the consumption of food to cope with negative emotions. Emotional eating often involves the consumption of high-calorie, comfortable foods that can contribute to weight gain. This study aimed to analyze the differences in stress levels and emotional eating between obese and non-obese adolescents. This research was conducted in May 2023 using an observational case-control study comparing obese and non-obese adolescents in a special region of Yogyakarta. A total of 139 respondents who attended this study were selected using multistage random sampling. Stress levels were measured using the Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10) questionnaire and emotional eating was assessed using the Emotional Eater Questionnaire (EEQ). Data were collected and analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test. Results: Most respondents had high stress levels (49,6%) and low emotional eaters (43,9%). There were differences in stress levels (p=0,004) and emotional eating (p=0,000) between the obese and non-obese adolescents. Conclusions, stress levels and emotional eating were different in obese and non-obese adolescents

    Literature Review: The effect of modification diet and antioxidant on inflammatory and oxidative stress concentration in obesity

    Obesity is also associated with increased inflammation and oxidative stress. Mediterranean and dash diets, as well as antioxidants, can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress levels in obesity. This study aimed to determine the effects of dietary modifications and antioxidants on inflammatory and oxidative stress levels in obesity. This study was carried out using the literature review method using PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases with the keywords Mediterranean Diet, DASH Diet, Antioxidant, Obesity, Inflammation, and Oxidative Stress. The inclusion criteria in this literature are articles published in the last 5 years (2018-2023) using RCT, in English, subjects >18 years old with obesity, interventions providing Mediterranean and dash diet, antioxidants derived from natural ingredients, and articles that can be accessed online. Articles were selected individually through a double process, considering the three main research quality criteria. This study showed that a modified diet and antioxidants can reduce inflammatory biomarkers and oxidative stress in obesity by suppressing NF-κB signaling and protecting against DNA damage. In conclusion, a modified diet and antioxidants can reduce inflammatory and oxidative stress in obesity.

    Work accidents occur due to several things, namely weak supervision on the project, undisciplined labor in complying with OHS, and inadequate personal protective equipment on the project in terms of quantity and quality. The problem may occur to workers of PT. The method used is by counseling workers from PT.Tukang Bangun Indonesia which was held on Saturday, June 08, 2024 at the PT.Tukang Bangun Indonesia office, Surakarta with a total of 11 participants and participants consisted of office workers and field workers with a more dominant proportion of field workers, this is because field workers have a greater potential for work accidents. The counseling was conducted with lectures and presentations conducted collaboratively by students and lecturers. The pre-test was conducted to determine the participants' initial understanding, then a post-test was conducted to measure the increase in participants' understanding when compared to the pre-test results. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test evaluations, it was found that only 49.8% of participants understood about OHS, and the results of understanding after the workshop increased to an average of 88.5% of participants understood about OHS, so based on the results of the evaluation, it can be concluded that the workshop conducted has been able and effective to improve the ability and understanding of participants from PT.     Background: The reason why someone neglects dental and oral hygiene is a lack of knowledge. Knowledge is closely related to education. Dental and oral health education is a method to motivate individuals to clean their teeth and mouth effectively.Objectives: The aim of the research was to determine differences in toothbrushing knowledge through counseling using lecture methods and cartoon videos to students in grades IV and V at SDN 04 Air Pura, Pesisir Selatan Regency.Methods: The type of research used is a quasi-experimental type with a "pretest and posttest" design. The sampling technique used was a total population of 80 people. The way to collect data is by filling out a pretest and posttest questionnaire about good and correct tooth brushing. The data analysis used is univariate and bivariate analysis.Results: The results of the research showed that knowledge before being given counseling using the lecture method with good criteria was 32.5% then increased to 62.5%, while counseling using the method of playing cartoon videos with good criteria was 12.5% then increased to 55.0% after being given counseling using the method of playing cartoon videos.Conclusion: The conclusion of this research is that the lecture method and showing cartoon videos can both increase knowledge about good and correct tooth brushing. Keywords:Brushing teeth, Lecture Method, Cartoon Vide

    Pengaruh program wellness terhadap perubahan status gizi dan komposi tubuh pada pegawai rawat inap Rumah Sakit Islam Jakarta Cempaka Putih

    Background: Based on the results of the 2022 Employee Medical Check-Up (MCU) at RSIJCP, there were 219 obese employees, with the highest number of obesity cases coming from the inpatient unit, totaling 46 employees. Obesity can increase the risk of degenerative diseases that can disrupt work productivity. Objective: to measure the effect of the Light Weight Challenge program, which includes nutritional education, low-calorie lunches, and exercise, on changes in nutritional status and body composition among inpatient staff at RSIJCP.Methods:  This type of research is a Pre-Experimental Design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest approach. Forty-six employees, 7 men and 39 women, completed the four-week program. The Wellness Program included daily low-calorie diet education provided through a WhatsApp group divided into 7 groups, low-calorie lunches every Monday to Saturday, indoor exercise every Wednesday, and outdoor exercise every Friday. However, before the treatment was administered, a pretest (initial measurement) was conducted to determine the initial condition, and after the treatment, a posttest (final measurement) was conducted to determine the final results.Results:  There was a significant decrease in the average body weight before the program (84,5±13,3) and after the program (81,9±13,5), with p=0,000. Similarly, there was a significant decrease in BMI before the program (33,5±4,5) and after the program (32,4±4,7), with p=0,000, and Body Fat before the program (38,3±4,2) and after the program (35,3±4,0), with p=0,000. However, there was no significant change in the average visceral fat before the program (17,3±6,1) and after the program (16,7±6,3), with p=0.350.Conclusion : The "Light Weight Challenge" wellness program can reduce the weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), body fat, and visceral fat of inpatient employees at RSIJ CP.  Keywords :Obesity, Wellness Program, Light Weight Challenge, weight, BMI, Body Fat, Visceral Fa

    Effect of dangke administration on serum TNF-a and liver SOD levels in rats induced by a high-fat, high-sugar diet

    Dangkes contain lactic acid bacteria that improve obesity by controlling the intestinal flora, improving the micro-ecological balance in the gut, and boosting the immune system. This study aimed to analyze the differences in serum TNF-α and liver SOD levels in obese rats fed a Dangke diet. The research was conducted from December to January 2024 at the PSPG PAU UGM using a true-experiment design post-test with only the control group. Male Sprague-Dawley rats (n=30) were randomly divided into five groups: healthy rats (KS), obese rats given standard feeding (K-), obese rats received L-Bio (K+), obese rats were given Dangke at a low dose (P1), and obese rats received Dangke at a high dose (P2). Intervention for 28 days. Data analysis was performed using one-way ANOVA tests and further post-hoc Bonferroni tests.  The result obtainded that Dangke with dose dose of 3,6 g/200 gBB was effective in decreasing TNF-α levels and increasing SOD levels (p<0,05). P2 had the lowest mean TNF-α level (7,33 ± 0,22) compared to K+ (8,59 ± 0,22) and P1 (8,88 ± 0,18). P2 had the highest SOD levels compared to K+ (62,56 ± 4,06) and P1 (61,47 ± 4,71).  In conclusion, Dangke effectively overcame inflammation and oxidative stress in obesity
