    Background: Handling nutritional problems for toddlers can be done by diversifying the development of additional food formulas by considering nutritional aspects. Nutrient-dense additional food is one effort to fulfill the nutritional intake of toddlers. Snakehead fish flour and corn flour cookies have quite high nutritional content which is expected to be an alternative additional food for toddlers.Objectives: This research aims to analyze the proximate content of snakehead fish flour and corn flour cookies and compare it with quality standards for toddler supplementary food.Methods: Descriptive research using an experimental design. The cookies were made at the Culinary and Dietetics Laboratory of the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University, and the proximate content testing was carried out at the Chem-Mix Pratama Laboratory in Yogyakarta from September to November 2023. The subjects of this study were 2 (two) cookie formulas, namely F3 (treatment) and F4 (control). The results of the analysis of the proximate content of cookies were compared with SNI 01-2973-2011 and Permenkes No. 51 of 2016 regarding the quality standards of supplementary food for toddlers. Data were analyzed descriptively using the average and deviation calculations.Results: There is an increase in proximate levels of protein, fat, water, and ash in F3 cookies after being substituted with cork fish flour and corn flour. The proximate content of F3 cookies has met the standards of SNI 01-2973-2011 and Permenkes No. 51 of 2016, namely energy, carbohydrates, fat, and protein. The water and ash content has not met these standards.Conclusion: Snakehead fish flour and corn flour cookies meet the nutritional requirements for supplementary food for toddlers

    Literature Review. The acceptability of Moringa Leaf (Moringa Oleifera) enriched foods in Indonesia

    Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) have many health benefits and have been used by the wider community to support health. The purpose of this review is to provide an overview of the acceptability of food products substituted with moringa leaves, based on studies conducted in Indonesia. Indosesia’s reference database, Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital), was used for the eligible studies. The search terms used to obtain relevant studies were "Moringa leaf," "organoleptic," and "acceptability" published between 2016 and 2021. The inclusion criteria were full-text articles written in Indonesian or English and published in Sinta 1-4 indexed journals. This study used a completely randomized design and sensory testing in humans. Results: Nine studies qualified for this review, with a variation substitution of moringa leaf in instant noodles, jelly candy, cookies, biscuits, and pancakes. The addition of moringa leaves to the products was carried out in the form of powder, protein concentrate, flour, and puree–1,5-5% to improve the content of certain nutrients, such as protein, beta-carotene, iron, calcium, vitamin C, or overall nutrients. Untrained panelists of 15-33 were used to select consumer preferences for the products, followed by nutrient analysis to determine the increase in the content of certain nutrients by adding moringa leaves. In conclusion, the more moringa leaves were added to the food products, the lower the panelists' preference for aroma, color, texture, and taste.

    Background: An emergency is a dangerous situation that can cause disability or even death. Efforts can be made to provide basic life support to prevent injury or death of victims. The training aims to enable students to handle the correct handling of emergencies to save the victim.Objective: To measure the effectiveness of basic life support online learning on improving the ability to handle pre-hospital emergencies in nursing students in Langsa City.Methods: This quantitative study used a quasi-experimental design through a pre-test and post-test approach with a control group. The sample size was 50 people who were divided into two groups. The intervention group was carried out online learning while the control group was given a video tutorial. Data were collected using questionnaires and pre and post training practice tests. Data analysis used Dependent T-test and Independent T-test at 95% CI.Results: The results of the study in the intervention group and control group were that there were significant differences in the ability to handle pre-hospital emergencies of respondents (p = 0.000), and the ability of respondents (p = 0.000), and the online learning method of basic life support through zoom was better than learning through video tutorials (p = 0.000).Conclusion: Online basic life support training is more effective in improving prehospital emergency management skills than video training

    Background: The food consumption of the Indonesian population in general does not fulfill pillar of the first balanced nutrition message. As much as 12,52% of adolescents in Indonesia have food consumption patterns with poor variety, poor proportions and poor adequacy.  Nutrition and health problems in adult occur in every individual, including young adults who live in Islamic boarding schools. Food pattern was influenced by several things, including physical activity, stress level and eating habits and knowledge.of the article. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between stress levels, physical activity and knowledge of balanced nutrition with the eating habits ini adolescent.Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design. This study was conduct in one of University based on pesantren in East Java in october 2022 until March 2023. The sample in this study aged 18-24 years were selected using propotinal random sampling technique with a total of 105 subjects who were calculated using the slovin formula. Data collection included interviews by filling out the SQ-FFQ questionnaire for eating patterns, DASS-42 for stress levels, IPAQ for physical activity and a questionnaire for knowledge of balanced nutrition. Data were analyzed using SPSS with Fisher's test with CI 95%.Results: There was a significant relationship between stress levels and eating habbit (p-value 0,039). Meanwhile, physical activity (p-value = 0,260 ) and knowledge of balanced nutrition (p-value = 0,165) thatdid not have a significant relationship with eating habbit  in adolescent (P>0,05).Conclusion: Stress levels had a significant relationship with eating patterns in female students.     Background: Child stunting affects many countries, including Indonesia. Aceh is the province with the highest prevalence of stunting and is in the top five in Indonesia, reaching 31.2%. Aceh Jaya stunting rate in 2023 reached 34% and Lamno Health Center contributed the most, namely 15.97%, dental health data aged 15-44 years more in women (32.60%).Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal dental health and stunting in children in Lamno District.Methods: Quantitative research using a crossectional design was conducted in Lamno District in 2023. The sample consisted of 97 children under five years old and their mothers. Dental health history data was obtained from secondary data at the Health Center, while stunting data was obtained through anthropometric measurements (TB/U). Data analysis used Chi-square test at 95% CI.Results: The results showed that the highest number of mothers who did not have a history of oral disease and stunting (36.6%) and did not show an association between the history of dental disease in mothers with the incidence of stunting in children in Lamno District, Aceh Jaya (p = 0.596).Conclusion: Maternal dental health history has no association with the incidence of stunting in children at Lamno Health Center, Aceh Jaya

    Antioxidant activities (DPPH and ABTS method) from extract of Bangle rhizome (Zingiber cassumunar) using different method of extraction

    Antioxidants are important for the prevention of oxidative stress, which can cause various degenerative diseases. Bangles contain bioactive components with antioxidant potential. Processing affects the active compounds in food, including angle. This study aimed to determine the effects of the blanching and extraction methods on the antioxidant activity of Bangle. This study focused on three factors: blanching treatment extraction technique, time, and type of extraction solvent. Analyses of antioxidants using the DPPH and ABTS methods were conducted in triplicate for each sample.  Data were analyzed using ANOVA. The results of this study show that the method, time, and type of solvent significantly affect the antioxidant activity of bangle rhizome extracts. The best treatment for antioxidant activity of Bangle rhizome was blanching treatment by adding 0,05% citric acid solution in the sonication extraction method for 30 min with ethanol as the solvent. The IC50 value on the DPPH method was 20,61±0,76 mg/g, and the percent free radical scavenging value was 87,11±3,04%. The IC50 value on the ABTS method is 20,79±0,29 mg/g and a percent free radical scavenging activity value of 92,75±0,13%. This study provides key insights for choosing effective extraction methods to increase antioxidant activity in natural materials, such as Bangle rhizomes

    Association between sleep quality with overweight/obesity and other factors among adults in indonesia post-COVID-19 pandemic

    The prevalence of adult overnutrition in Indonesia increased from 26,3% to 35,4% from 2013 to 2018. Poor sleep quality is one of the factors of overnutrition. Poor sleep quality increases appetite and decreases energy expenditure, which leads to weight gain. Sleep quality has also worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to examine the relationship between sleep quality and the incidence of overweight/obesity in adults post-COVID-19. The design of this study was cross-sectional, and an online survey was used. The questionnaire included the current weight, height, and sleep quality using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire. Data were collected from June to August 2022 in Indonesia, using convenience sampling. A Total of 148 participants completed the questionnaire. The association was analyzed using the Chi-square software. This study found 58,8% of the subjects had poor sleep and 23,6% were overweight/obese. Age, sex, education level, occupation, and marital status were associated with sleep quality. A higher proportion of poor sleep quality was found among overweight/overnutrition participants, but no association was found. In conclusion, no association was found between sleep quality and overweight or obesity. Most subjects had poor sleep quality; thus, further intervention is needed to improve sleep quality

    Tricks to reduce the incidence of obesity in children in Indonesia

    The annual incidence of childhood obesity in Indonesia is increasing. This increase was due to the low promotion of children's physical activity and nutritional education campaigns. This research aimed to collect evidence on how to design appropriate strategies to overcome the problem of obese children in Indonesia. The research used A literature review was conducted by searching the PubMed Central, BMC, BMJ, Science Direct, and PLOS One databases published between 2019 and June 2023 by analyzing data regarding program tricks to reduce obesity incidents in children using searches based on population (P), exposure (E), and results (O) as inclusion criteria. Only ten articles met the inclusion criteria. All articles discussed the importance of a healthy diet; 80% of articles discussed physical activity, which can quickly reduce obesity in children, and programs to overcome obesity in children face internal obstacles (60%) and external obstacles (80%). In conclusion, combining a healthy eating pattern program with physical activity is the main strategy for overcoming obesity in children. Strategies are also needed to minimize obstacles by establishing good cooperative relationships between parents and the community.

    Background: Probiotics are bacteria that can be immunomodulators and interact with the body's immune system. There is a lack of information regarding the relationship between probiotics and the immune system in individuals who experience illness, especially respiratory infections.Objectives: This article complements the current information contained in several journals about the relationship between probiotics and the immune system in patients with respiratory tract infections.Methods: This descriptive study used a systematic literature review method and was conducted from February to May 2024. Literature from publication years 2014–2024 was obtained from PubMed, Google Scholar, Research Gate, and ScienceDirect. Data collection and analysis used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) guidelines. A total of 71 articles were collected and selected in stages based on predetermined inclusion criteria. Four articles were successfully selected and then analyzed to find similarities, differences, and perspectives. The data was presented in the form of an extraction table for the population of all age ranges who experienced respiratory infectious diseases. The samples taken were those experiencing respiratory infectious diseases and taking probiotics.Results: Probiotics affect the immune system in patients with respiratory infections by increasing the size and number of plasma cells that produce immunoglobulin-A (IgA) and T cells..Conclusion: Probiotics affect the immune system of infectious disease patients by modulating the innate immune system as well as their antiviral properties. This is in line with previous research information where probiotics are effective in reducing the effects of respiratory infections and improving the immune system.KeywordsRespiratory Infectious Diseases, Probiotics, and the Immune Syste

    Background:  Behavior Based Safety (BBS) is an effective tool to reduce work accidents. A proactive approach that focuses on At Risk Behavior is a prevention effort through Unsafe Action behavior that is likely to cause work accidents. The implementation of the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program affects the high behavior of Unsafe Action.Purpose:  The study aims to determine the relationship of Unsafe Action with the implementation of the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program in the engineering department of PT Bernofarm.Methods:  Quantitative research using Cross Sectional research methods. The population of this study were 58 people. Determination using purposive random sampling so that the research sample was 50 people. The research was conducted in May-June 2024 in the engineering department of PT Bernofarm. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data analysis using the Chi-Square test.Results:  The results show that the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program in the engineering department of PT Bernofarm has been implemented. However, the lack of maximum application can lead to worker behavior Unsafe Action Events. The proportion of unsafe actions is high in the implementation of the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program is low, the proportion of unsafe actions is high in the implementation of the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program is high, while the occurrence of unsafe actions is low in the implementation of the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program is low. Sig value. 0,000 <0,05, which means that there is a relationship between unsafe actions and the implementation of the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program for PT Bernofarm workers.Conclusion: there is a relationship between Unsafe Action incidents and the implementation of the Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program in the engineering department of PT.
