‘Women’ and ‘Sexuality’ in the 18th and 19th century english novels: a reading of Eliza Haywood and Thomas Hardy

In doing so, this thesis seeks to incorporate the social environment of interpretation. It explores and links societal factors with literary productions. It looks at the aforementioned issues in these novels as a way to understand the society’s notions and judgments concerning these. Victim’s treatment, discernment of the society and her subsequent abandonment, women’s desire and sexual freedom are studied critically. In Eliza Haywood’s novella Fantomina the protagonist is a young woman who yearns for freedom and breaks the sexual codes of the time. Through the use of disguise and masquerade the protagonist Fantomina explores her sexuality which was a sin in the eye of the conservative society of Haywood. On the other hand, Thomas Hardy’s Protagonist Tess from the novel Tess of d’Urbervilles is persecuted throughout her life and is killed by the male chauvinistic Victorian society. Thus, both Haywood and Hardy have shown the sexual double standards of the English society through their works. Role of statins as antagonists of 1DHF in cancer
No full textThis project report is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy, 2018.Catalogued from PDF version of project report.Includes bibliographical references (page 47-54).Cancer involves the uncontrollable and abnormal proliferation of cells in the body and is among the leading causes of deaths worldwide. The enzyme, dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) referred to as 1DHF functions as a precursor for the biosynthesis of purine and pyrimidine bases and is critical for the de novo synthesis of DNA. Maintenance of the normal levels of folate is extremely important, since disruption in the folate metabolism pathway has a lethal effect on rapidly proliferating cells, such as the bone marrow and red blood cells particularly because the normal cell division process gets hampered. A key feature of cancer cells is abnormal cell division or cell mitosis. 1DHF is highly expressed in cancer cells, which makes it a potential target for anti-cancer drug development. A positive correlation between cholesterol accumulation and cancer provide insights into further investigation of anti-cancer indication of statin drugs. In this study, data science, drug repurposing, and other in silico computational techniques have been employed to find a potential statin antagonist of 1DHF that would not only lower serum cholesterol levels but also successfully inhibit the folic acid biosynthetic pathway. The merits of drug repurposing include a safer, cost-effective, productive and more efficient drug. Molecular docking of statin drugs with the proteins 1DHF was carried out using PyRx and the drug-protein interactions were identified using Discovery Studio. The structure of the protein was validated using Ramachandran plot, z-scores, Errat and Verify 3D, and a z-score of -9.09 for 1DHF was obtained. The potential statin small molecules chosen were Pravastatin, Pitavastatin, Rosuvastatin and Simvastatin. Amongst these small molecules, Pitavastatin showed the highest binding affinity (-12.7Kcal/Mol) which indicates that Pitavastatin may possibly reduce the risk of cancer development. It may be given as an adjunct drug to cancer patients, with high levels of LDL, with their anti-cancer therapy. The main aim of this study was to find a statin drug that targeted 1DHF in the treatment of cancer and the statin drug Pitavastatin demonstrated such effect; however, they are required in doses much higher than that of patients receiving the usual statin treatment for hypercholesterolemia. Due to the advantages associated with drug repositioning, it is widely used. The study shows that the statin drug Pitavastatin, may have significant anti-cancer property as they bind with 1DHF with a high binding affinity. Thus,drug repositioning may be used in combination with other oncology therapeutics to obtain a credible drug treatment by causing necrosis of malignant cells.Nashrah MustafaB. Pharmac

To measure the effectiveness of trainings, and job satisfaction level, a simple survey has been conducted to collect data with some close ended questions and personal interview. Teachers from primary, high school and college level have been involved in this survey to add variance. The result positively stated that the trainings are very meaningful and valuable, and the level of job satisfaction is very high amongst them. An institution with such skillful and motivated faculties is bound to give qualified education and bring up meritorious students. Uttara Bank LTD was established in 1965 under the name of “Eastern Banking Corporation Limited” with the specific objective of accelerating trade and investment in the economically depressed eastern wing of the than Pakistan. After liberation of Bangladesh the Bank underwent a major change namely, it was nationalized in March, 1972 and given the name “Uttara Bank”. The Bank again in 1983 was denationalized and made a commercial bank in the private sector under the name “Uttara Bank Limited.” Banks and other financial institutions play a vital role in forecasting the economic and social condition of a country. Banks in Bangladesh now constitutes the core of the country’s organized financial system. The main tusk is to mobilize funds from surplus economic unit and deployment it to deficit economic unit and Uttara Bank Limited is doing that successfully from its establishment.
Customer satisfaction is very important for the reflections of the succession toward progress and expansion for any service institution. Excellence in customer service helps an organization to build a good position in the market and retain more customers. To keep the customers satisfied, Uttara Bank Limited provides various types of service to its customers. Uttara Bank Limited Principal Branch has three departments. These are: General Banking Department, Foreign Exchange Department and Credit Department. Through these three departments they serve their customers and their slogan is "Abohoman Banglar Oitijje Lalito”.
General banking department provides service to the customers by doing the elementary tasks of the bank. This department has three sections: Main Cash with Cash Cell; Deposit Section

i.e. Savings, Current deposit, FDR, SNTDs; Clearing; Bills; Accounts; Sanchaypotra, These elementary tasks include account opening, providing master credit card, internet banking, offering different types of schemes to the customers, different types of bills and fees collection etc. Foreign Exchange department also play vital role by providing service to the customers. This department has three sections. These are: Export section, Import section and Foreign Remittance section. All these three sections Foreign Exchange department provides services to its customers. Credit department has three sections i.e. General Loan, Industrial Loan and Loan Recovery.
Foreign exchange is an important department of this Bank Limited, which deals with import, export and foreign remittances. It bridges between importers and exporters. This department is playing an important role in enhancing export earnings, which aids economic growth and in turn it helps for the economic development. On the other hand, it also helps to meet those goods and service, which are most demandable and not adequate in our country.
This report contains four chapters. First chapter deals with Introduction, origin, objective, scope, methodology and limitations of the report. Second chapter is the Organizational part of the report where I have tried to show an overview of Uttara Bank Ltd. and its theoretical background, Mission, Vision, Operating Profit, Deposit growth, etc. Third chapter contains the learning part of the report; General banking activities and fourth chapter contains findings, recommendations, conclusion and Reference.
The report has been made by a careful review of published annual report, case study & discussion with responsible persons of Uttara Bank Ltd. who are engaged & connected with my related department. While working with general banking division in Uttara Bank Ltd., I have tried to find out some problems. Uttara Bank Ltd has complicated calculation process, insufficient number of ATM booths, lack of online system, inefficient employeesetc.

In the end, I have tried to give some recommendations against the mentioned problems of general banking division such as making easier calculation process, arranging sufficient number of ATM booths, introducing online system, etc.

- Sayed Kashua, (So Humiliating Is This Name)
As an Arab-Israeli, author Sayed Kashua asks the important questions: whether the indigenous
Arabs of Israel are permitted to consider Israel as their home. The author shades light into the
subaltern lives of the Arab/Palestinian-Israeli citizens in the ethnocratic Israel, where one’s
national and ethnic identity collide. The contemporary Hebrew writer narrates the sociopolitical
situation of the community along with its social segregation and hierarchy, the duality
of identity, and the politics of language and narratives. Kashua comments as well as criticises
the state of Israel, Arab world and Arab mentality and annihilates the established stereotypes
in a profoundly personal but anecdote manner. This thesis investigates Kashua’s book Dancing
Arab and Let It Be Morning from the lenses of historical past, to study and analyse the
unfamiliar stories of the Arab minority in Israel affected by the endless Palestinian-Israel
conflict in the light of literary and critical theory.
