Moreover, the study tries to find out the difficulties the learners face while learning new words. A questionnaire consists of 40 items has been made based on the vocabulary learning strategies, techniques, factors affecting vocabulary acquisition framework proposed by Schmitt (1997), Gu and Johnson (1996), Oxford and Crookall (1990) and Hedge (2000). Open-ended questions are designed to elicit information about vocabulary learning difficulties from the learners. The findings have revealed that the learners practice vocabulary-learning strategies while learning new words in a satisfactory level and determination strategies have been found to be used by most of the learners. In addition to that, the study has found some obstacles they face in learning new words. In this regard, the researcher has recommended some suggestions to overcome the barriers in her paper.Farah DeebaB.A. in Englis

If we think about language in present world, English is one of the most used languages in world and English is used to learn as a challenging language in the classroom. English is introduced here at the primary level and its inclusion continues until the tertiary level of Education. For this, in recent years, the government of Bangladesh has worked to implement a language policy to foster a communicative approach to English language teaching (ELT) at the primary level, where BRAC education program is trying to playing this role in BRAC primary school program for enhancing the student’s skill. For implementing it foster, the study has explored towards the challenges of teaching English language at the rural BRAC primary schools. Both the teachers and students are the target group of people for this study. This study investigated the factors affecting student’s performance in English language in rural BRAC primary schools. For this purpose, one set of questionnaire has been used to collect data from students to assess the situation of English teaching and learning in rural BRAC primary schools. English sessions has been observed using an observation checklist and interview as focus group discussion has been taken from the teachers in order to find out the real present scenario of teaching English language at the rural BRAC primary schools level. Design of metamaterial loaded microstrip patch antenna array
This thesis is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018.Catalogued from PDF version of thesis.Includes bibliographical references.Rectangular patch antenna is a commonly used antenna for the microwave ranges. It is easily
manufactured and has been studied thoroughly. But its size cannot be reduced as it is inversely
proportional to operating frequency. A smaller antenna would operate in frequencies greater than
microwaves. To reduce the size of the antenna without affecting its frequency, a microstrip
rectangular patch antenna loaded with metamaterials is designed. Metamaterials have unusual
electromagnetic properties, as in at certain frequencies ε or μ is negative. ENG is added to DPS
material as a substrate for the design. This thesis designed an array of such metamaterial loaded
antenna elements and compared it to the results of a conventional microstrip patch antenna array.
All the designs are simulated on CST Microwave Studio software to ensure that they are viable
designs.Tamanna Yeasmin UshaTarannum ChoudhuryHanan Ashrafi AnushkaB. Electrical and Electronic Engineerin

An evaluation of the determinants of project success in public works department (PWD)
This dissertation is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Masters in Procurement and Supply Management, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of dissertation.Includes bibliographical references (page 38-39).Transparency, efficiency, accountability, competitiveness, equitable treatment and free & fair
competition are essential to be ensured in the procurement using public funds. In Bangladesh,
these could not be ensured earlier due to a lack of proper rules and regulation. To streamline
the public procurement activities, the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh
has enacted Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2006 and thereafter issued Public Procurement
Rules (PPR) 2008. Since then government agencies are bound to abide by the Act and Rules
very strictly in their procurement activities. The Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU)
of the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) is continually monitoring
the compliance of PPA 2006 and PPR 2008 by the target agencies in the light of 45
predetermined Key Performance Indicators (KPI) on limited or some selected projects.
IMED is the apex body of Monitoring and Evaluation of Government Development Project. It
is generally said that a total of 80% of ADP allocation are spent for procurement of goods,
works and services which are administered by PPR 2008. Thus, it seems to be more focus
on public procurement KPI’s during monitoring of development projects by IMED.
The research has been designed under monitoring and evaluation report prepared by
IMED. In that report public procurement monitoring KPI’s are used or not; and if not,
then what is the causes behind.
The main objectives of this study is to find out the monitoring Status of Public Procurement on
the compliance issues PPA-2006 and PPR-2008 by IMED that will help to ensure transparent and
efficient procurement of public sector project.
The related literatures and reports, particularly from IMED, have been thoroughly reviewed
before conducting the main research work. A questionnaire survey and key informant
interviews have been conducted to get the perceptions of IMED officers.
The majors findings of this study is that monitoring of public procurement by IMED and
Compliance Issues of PPA-2006 and PPR-2008 during monitoring and evaluation of
development projects is very poor. Only 18% monitoring/evaluation report focused on public
procurement monitoring KPI’s. That is 82 percent projects are not yet monitored or evaluated
using public procurement monitoring KPI’s. On the other hand major development
ministry/Divisions projects are not yet monitor or evaluate focusing public procurement
monitoring KPI’s. Though public procurement monitoring is very important during monitoring
of any development projects but it is still neglected or not yet focused. The major causes of that
IMED officials are not aware of the importance monitoring KPI’s. Also IMED officials have no
sufficient training and practical knowledge on PPA-2006 and PPR-2008 for their monitoring
purpose. So, IMED need to identify that what area should be more emphasized to ensure
effective monitoring of development projects.Muhammad Adnan RahmanM. Procurement and Supply Management

Impact of manufacturing industry specific FDI inflow on economic growth
This thesis is submitted in a partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Social Sciences in Economics, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of thesis.Includes bibliographical references (page 21- 23).Investment is hailed as the primary proponent of growth in all economies which makes Foreign Direct Investment inflow a necessary and important part of growth analysis. The FDI decision however depends on the innovation intensity of various industries, among other factors. This particular concept warrants the importance of investigating the industry specific FDI inflow and its relation to growth. Previous literatures has not looked into the impact of the industry-specific FDI inflow, coupled with innovation intensities, on economic growth and thus, the paper looks into whether manufacturing industry specific FDI inflow through four degrees of innovation intensity has a statistically significant impact on economic growth. Using the OECD categorization of manufacturing industries’ technological intensity and taking data on 35 countries over 15 years, from the OECD and WDI database, and using a fixed effects panel estimation with robust standard errors, it is observed that FDI in medium low tech manufacturing industries cause a statistically significant rise in per capita GDP. The finding is interpreted by looking at the resultant market operation structure of the medium low tech industries, which are primarily involved in manufacturing intermediate goods and normal consumer goods. As these industries have a higher product turnover, the impact of this investment can be captured on the short-run or medium-run analysis, whereas the returns on investment in the high-tech industries rarely has any significant impact on the short-run analysis. With regards to these results, policies to attract FDI in medium low-tech industries are inherently beneficial for the recipient nations. Thus, policies enacting FDI liberalization is required to induce higher economic growth.Mutasim Billah MubdeB. in Economic
Different campaigns of Pathao Ltd
This internship report is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of internship report.Includes bibliographical references (page 24).Pathao Ltd. is the fastest growing technology startup in Bangladesh having services across Ride sharing, Food delivery, Parcel and Courier verticals. The company was founded in 2015 by a group of young entrepreneurs which quickly became a nationwide brand and cult. The company was recently funded by Gojek, an Indonesia based motorcycle ride sharing company. Initially, the company started its operations as a parcel delivery company with an android application for the service delivery process. The company quickly resorted to the aforementioned verticals and is now the leading player in the ride sharing market for motorcycles and quickly over taking the cars ride sharing market from Uber South Asia, recently acquired by Singapore based Grab. The competition will be fierce in the coming few months. Pathao was able to break the game in the end of 2016 where the technology touched millions and now is a part of everyone’s life, whether anyone is commuting to work or simply ordering food from home.
As a content writer and analyst and having significant exposure to marketing theories, I have highlighted how Pathao became a brand through all the marketing content that binds all of their milestones and notable communications.
Facebook is the only platform where companies, even before they are officially launched are incepted to let people know how a company should function and the services they can offer. Except this, I have also highlighted all my content related work and the integrated campaigns that I have worked on. The report focuses on the different content that I wrote and worked on, with explanation as to how the page engaged with the massive audience from 5th June to 1st August, 2018. Along with that, there is also a significant emphasis on how the company functions across all its verticals, i.e. Pathao Rides, Pathao Food and Pathao Parcel. Being a content writer and promotion planner at the marketing team, there were significant responsibilities where content creation is the primary objective following Pathao’s brand guidelines and keeping the Pathao style across all the content that has been sent out to communicate across online and offline mediums.
Finally, I have offered some recommendation as to how Pathao, as a brand can communicate in a more efficient way rendering their service delivery process by keeping their communications warm, humane and friendly.Tamanna Rahman KantaB. Business Administration
