Bond market analysis of Bangladesh
This internship report is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of internship report.Includes bibliographical references (page 25).The capital market has always been a few steps behind in development compared to
GDP growth of our nation. One would expect that the capital market - stocks, bonds
and options would start flourishing as the economy grows. However, that has not been
the case for the Bangladesh capital market more so the bond market. The paper
provides a comparison between the bond market of Bangladesh with the neighbouring
countries such as India, Pakistan and Srilanka.
This paper dives into the bond market of Bangladesh and perfects to analyse the
limited number of bonds available in the market. It aims to figure out any correlation
with the Dhaka Stock Exchange by analysing the correlation coefficient between the
prices of bonds and the index numbers. This helps to understand whether the stocks at
DSE are affecting the bond prices or not.
The paper also talks about the reasons for the failure of bond market in Bangladesh
through a thorough of the bonds performance and investors sentiments. Several
reasons such as lack of understanding of the bond market, too much reliance on bank
savings account and poor accountability and corporate governance has eroded
people’s trust in capital markets.
Suggestions have also been provided based on the specific problems in the bond
market such as improving financial literacy, encouraging and promoting investments
in bonds. If implemented accordingly, the Bangladesh bond market is likely to
flourish in the upcoming years.Safwan AhmedB. Business Administratio
In silico modelling and structural dynamics of PRR CORE ectodomain and its interaction with PAMP csp22
This thesis report is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirement for the degree of Master of Science in Biotechnology, 2018.Catalogued from PDF version of thesis report.Includes bibliographical references (pages 61-65).Plants being sessile organisms are continuously being subjected to pathogens prevailing in their environment. Understanding the theory behind it would be a great step towards understanding the mechanisms making plants disease resistant. There are two ways in which plant defences are activated- first by structural interaction between the pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP) and the pattern-recognition receptor (PRR) known as pattern-triggered immunity (PTI) and secondly through effectors known as effector triggered immunity (ETI). In PTI, to combat the pathogens, plants employ PRRs which detect PAMPs and employs co-receptor proteins. The aim of this study is to acquire a better understanding of the early stages of PTI mediated by PRR CORE and PAMP csp22 by modelling of these followed by docking and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation using GROMACS software suite. The leucine rich repeat (LRR) on the PRR is responsible for binding to the PAMP, so different in silico modelling approaches were used to acquire the CORE LRR 3D structure. Of which only the model generated by I-TASSER using the threading method gave the best results with verification tools such as ERRAT, Verify 3D and Ramachandran plot. The docking result also shows the PAMP csp22 binds at one lateral side of the CORE LRR with the co-receptor BAK1 attaching head on, on to the same lateral side, which is very consistent with the protein interaction observed in the reference FLS2 crystalline complex. The interactions between the three proteins were also analyzed using the protein interaction calculator (PIC) and it was seen that after the MD simulation the number of hydrogen bonds formed between them almost became half. Starting with 42 H-bonds before the simulation, whereas only 22 afterwards. These changes are significant indicators of conformational changes that take place over the simulation period and are vital in understanding the early events of PTI by the receptor protein CORE.Tanvir JawadM. The evolution of brand awareness and the status of customer loyalty of ACI Logistics
This internship report is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of internship report.Includes bibliographical references (page 38).This internship paper is mainly written on the ACI Logistics (Shwapno), the number one retail chain of Bangladesh which stated its journey in 2008 and it is one of the main parts of ACI conglomerates. Shwapno is the platform where people love to shop, work and invest. The main target of Shwapno is to win the minds and hearts of the customer by integrating the idea of “Every day Better Life”. The main potencies of Shwapno are the customer- obsession, pragmatic decisions, innovative technology, creativity and perfectionism in customer experience. The main strategy of Shwapno is to source fresh food and fish from growers which assists them to keep their dreams alive and offering it directly to the customer. In this paper, at first, the detail informations about retail industry and ACI Logistics (Shwapno) are given to find out the recent position of the ACI Logistics (Shwapno) in the super market industry in compare with other super stores. Then, marketing mix (4P) of Shwapno is analyzed to get a brief idea about the product, price, promotion and place of it. In addition, the SWOT is also added in this paper to understand the strength, weakness, opportunity and threats of Shwapno. Porter’s Five Force is examined to find out the position of the Shwapno in the market place. As the paper is mainly focused on the brand awareness and customer loyalty, that’s why the characteristics of the brand, Shwapno is also added briefly in this paper. After that, the method of data selection process is analyzed to achieve the aim of evaluating brand awareness and the status of customer loyalty of ACI Logistics (Shwapno). For collecting data, online survey is conducted based on 15 questions and sample size is 80 respondents. To do in depth analysis, one hypothesis is made to find out whether the higher brand awareness leads to higher customer loyalty or not. Through Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software, the analysis is done where there is one independent variable (Brand Awareness) and one dependent variable (Customer Loyalty). Here, three concepts are highlighted Reliability, Validity of the variables and the items under them as well as the Regression. In reliability, the consistency of the items under the variables are measured where it can be found that the values of Cronbach’s Alpha for two variables are higher than .7 which shows that the items are reliable. The validity of the variables are also measured where convergent validity proves that the inter item correlation is higher than the intra item correlation and through discriminant validity it shows that two variables brand awareness and customer loyalty is distinct. Through regression, it can be proved that the model is significant and the hypothesis is statistically supported which means if brand awareness will increase then the customer loyalty will also

increase. Based on this hypothesis and the survey results, some findings are noted such as most of the people came to know about Shwapno through newspaper, then only 62% people thought it is a trustworthy brand , after that only 28.7% people will choose Shwapno over other superstores. In addition, 42.5% people will recommend Shwapno to near and dear ones. Based on this interesting results and findings, some recommendations are suggested to Shwapno so that it will can increase the brand awareness, which can attach people mentally and emotionally to Shwapno. There is also a scope for further research as the respondents number is limited and the only one hypothesis along with two variables are materialized so there can be a chance of emergence of other variables. In the end, it can be said that, still now Shwapno is the market leader in the super market industry and to sustain this position, Shwapno needs to work on the brand awareness so that large amount of people become aware about the brand which leads to customer loyalty.Shrabanee PalB. A new heuristic approach for assessing losses in power distribution system
This thesis is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Masters of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of thesis.Includes bibliographical references (page 106-108).Among the three main components of the power system: generation, transmission and
distribution, most pressing problem in the power sector has been with the distribution system.
It is well conceived that almost all the revenue stream comes from distribution system. If this
section is characterized with high system loss resulting poor revenue collection, then the toal
power system tends to collapse. So, for financial viability of the sector, it is vital that the
distribution sector should be taken care of. So, it is vital that serious efforts should be taken to
bring the system loss to a standard level. It is acknowledged that in quantifying the standard
loss of distribution system is not as easy as it has many complex calculations due to wide
range of system variables.
Considering the urgency to find the loss quantity against the various contrast, a model tool
has been devised following heuristic process in this thesis. It is anticipated that in finding
distribution loss an expensive software with expertise are required. The software needs huge
system data for identification and quantification of losses. This is also time consuming.
To get the required job done, a device is required to monitor the system in finding out the
accurate quantity of loss. The thesis is aimed to develop how to find losses of both feeder
and transformer by one item only that is current of low voltage side of the transformer. The
fundamental concept which is considered is that maximum system load flow is 1/3 of the
feeder length. Such consideration of load flow might deviate the actual expected result. This
deviation needs a tool to be used to rationalize the calculated result. The tool which has been
devised in this thesis is termed as “K” factor. “K” factor is the main part of this thesis.
The value of “K” depends on load ratio of feeder when each feeder is divided in two halves.
It is known that loss varies in the feeder with same value of load if the load ratio varies
between 1st half and 2nd half. As per load ratio, “K” is higher, if load in 2nd half is greater
than load in 1st half. It is equal, if load in 2nd half is equal to load in 1st half and lower, if load
in 2nd half is less than load in 1st half.B.D. RahmatullahM. Electrical and Electronic Engineerin
