1981 年愛媛生まれ。京都大学卒業後、ストラスブール大学（フランス）で修士
課程、博士課程を修了。博士（哲学）。稲盛財団、京都外国語大学、クエンカ
大学（エクアドル）等を経て、21 年から専任講師、22 年から現職。専門は哲学・
倫理学。
国際シンポジウムの報告
HESD フォーラムへの参加者で、国際シンポジウムにも
参加しようという人間は皆無であった。コミュニケーショ
ン言語が英語であるシンポジウムは、どの世代の日本人
にも、いまだハードルが高いということが、結果として証
明されることになった。開催者側の負担に関しては、た
しかに仕事が一日に集約されるというメリットはあったの
だが、ふたつのイベントそれぞれに業務が発生するので、
ふたつのイベントが合わさると、それだけ業務が一日に
集中してしまう。それはつまり、一日のイベントに対して
必要となるスタッフの数が多くなるということでもあるし、
また一人当たりの抱える業務量も多くなってしまうという
ことも意味する。総合的に評価すると、同時開催はしな
かったほうが良かったと言えるだろう。こうして得られた
知見は、今後の企画を検討する際に生かしていきたい。
発表者を募るべく、7月の頭に Call for Papers を公
表した。本シンポジウムはオンサイトとオンラインの
発表双方を可とするハイブリッド型のシンポジウムと
して設定した。そして、Call for Papers において記載
した本シンポジウムの趣旨は以下の通りである。
Target 7 of Sustainable Development Goal 4 offers 
a transformative vision of education :  “By 2 0 3 0, 
ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and 
skills needed to promote sustainable development, 
including, among others, through education for 
sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, 
human rights, gender equality, promotion of a 
culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship 
and appreciation of cultural diversity and of 
culture's contribution to sustainable development”. 
In order to achieve these aims, there is a need to 
overhaul education so that it might contribute to 
本学と海外の大学との研究面での連携を深めるべ
く、サステナビリティ研究所の主催の下、本学にお
いて、国際シンポジウム“Sustainable Development 
and ESD”が2024年9月23日に開催された。先立つ
3月に、トゥイ・グエン（人間社会学部　准教授）と
影浦の二人でベトナム・ハノイを訪問し、ハノイ大学・
ベトナム国家農業大学・FPT 大学・ベトナム国家大
学を訪問し、今回の国際シンポジウムの開催を案内し、
参加を呼びかけた。結果として、ハノイ大学・ベトナ
ム国家農業大学・ベトナム国家大学からの参加があり、
3月訪問は効果があったと言って良いだろう。
当初、本シンポジウムは独立したイベントとして想定さ
れていたが、4月以降の総合研究センターの運営会議の
中で、サステナビリティ研究所のもうひとつのイベントで
ある HESD フォーラムと同時開催したほうが、参加者集
めと開催者側の負担の面から合理的ではないだろうかと
いう声が出て、HESD フォーラムと同時開催になった。し
かし、実際に同時開催した結果として得られた知見とし
て、参加者集めに関しては、テーマは両イベントともたし
かに ESD（Education for Sustainable Development :  持
続可能な開発のための教育）をテーマにしているものの、

9月23日シンポジウム当日は、午前は HESD フォー
ラムとジョイント企画を実施した関係で、HESD
フォーラムの開催場所である1号館1101教室で、午
後からは1103教室で国際シンポジウムを実施した。
当日の運営は、トゥイ・グエン、橋本隆子（総合研究
センター副センター長）、影浦の3人を中心にして、
研究支援課の職員の方々の支援を受けつつ、実施され
た。シンポジウムのスケジュールの詳細は以下の通り

the sustainable development of our global village. 
ESD（Education for Sustainable Development）must 
focus on cognitive learning outcomes (the precise 
awareness of problems in our society), as well as 
socio-emotional responsibilities and the capacity to 
take the necessary action to deal with these issues, 
which will, in turn help learners to become global 
citizens, able to adopt measures to tackle and solve 
the problems of our community, especially the 
challenges addressed by the SDGs. This is why we 
need to deepen our understanding of ESD: what 
it is and how to introduce it into the class, how to 
achieve a learner-centered pedagogy, involving the 
daily teaching of gender equality and the stimulation 
of learners' social emotions.
All proposals related to all aspects and levels of ESD 
should be welcomed: teaching practice, curriculum, 
governmental education policies, etc. We also 
need to deepen our understanding of sustainable 
development in several levels and fields, because 
ESD can be achieved on the basis of precise and 
scientific understanding of environmental and 
social problems. Proposals related to any aspect 
of sustainable development is also welcomed: 
environmental, social and governance problems, 
as well as matters of climate change, epidemic, 
carbon tax, renewable energy, biodiversity, ESG 
investment, CSR, fair trade, ethical consumption, 
global partnership, etc.
本学の協定大学であるベトナム国家大学から発表の申
し込みがあり予想以上に盛況だったため、申込〆切後も
引き続き受付をした。 ただ、盛況ゆえに来日いただく方々
が増えてしまったため、本学ゲストハウスの受入可能人
数を超えてしまうというハプニングもあり一部ホテルにて
宿泊手配も行った。大学間交流も実施でき、非常に有意
義なシンポジウムであったが、今後海外からの先生たち
を招くイベントを企画する際は、本学のゲストハウスの収
容定員で締め切るという方策を取れるように企画したい
と考えている。尚、本学のゲストハウスは、ベトナムから
の参加者たちに大変好評であったことも付記しておく。

尚、本シンポジウムの開催に先立って、学長の表敬
訪問が実現した。ベトナム国家大学の先生方の訪問を
快く受け入れていただいた学長にこの場を借りて感謝
を申し上げたい。また、この表敬訪問から、本シンポ
ジウムの最初から最後まで出席し、その場を盛り上げ
ていただいた寺野総合研究センター長にも感謝を申し
上げたい。
シンポジウムを実施しての反省点としては、発表者
以外の参加者が極めて少なかったことである。英語の
シンポジウムへの参加は、日本人にとって心理的ハー
ドルが高いことが推量される。このようなイベントの
人集めには、個別の呼びかけが必須であると思われる。
しかし、同時開催の HESD フォーラムのほうの集客
にも苦労していたため、今後別テーマのシンポジウム
を同時に開催する際は、集客について、綿密な計画と
早い段階でも周知が必要と考えている。これもイベン
トの同時開催の弊害であろう。
シンポジウム後の展開としては、影浦がベトナム国
家大学でのオンライン・ゲスト講義を依頼され、10月
9日に“Kao's ESG management and its sustainability 
from the perspective of ethics”という題目で講義を
した。また、11月17日開催のベトナム国家大学の50
周年記念式典に寺野総合研究センター長とトゥイ・グ
エンが出席した。
本シンポジウムの発表者の論文は、2025年3月末
にサステナビリティ研究所から発行される『サステナ
ビリティ研究』第1巻別冊に掲載される予定である。
