Designing an Internet of Things Based Automatic Clothesline
In Indonesia, there are 2 seasons, rainy season and dry season. The rainy season occurs from November to March, while the dry season occurs from April to October. With the changing seasons that are very unpredictable, so that the weather cannot be regulated by humans so that it requires the latest technology in this case the internet of things, that concern increases when outside the home and at that time there is no one at home. for fear of clothes that are dried wet with rain water as a result also if clothes that have been dried in the sun and will be exposed to rain water do not rule out the clothes we use will cause a bad odor. By using the mcu node esp 8266 dried is controlled by using a smartphone so that it can be controlled with a long distance then add a rain sensor to anticipate sudden rain fall. If a rain sensor is detected by water, the web system of the relay component will be active and give a command to Nodemcu esp8266, after the program runs the relay will be active and the motor can run forward or backward if the relay is on and the Relay is Off then the motor unable to work forward or backward. Fabric weight is measured by a scale so that it can calculate the weight of the wet cloth obtained. The maximum number of fabrics to be used in this automatic clothesline is to keep the motor running and the motor won't be damaged easily
Function Quality Improvement of Mahakam Riverbanks as a Public Open Space
oai:ojs2.seps.unsrat.ac.id:article/1The increasing numbers of people and buildings that continue to grow and tend to be uncontrolled in the settlement causing some negative impacts one of them is the consistency of land allotment. This has resulted in some impacts such as ineffective utilities and environmental infrastructures, no mitigation system, and the unavailability of space for public spaces and other supporting facilities that supposed to be available within a settlement. Kampung Arab is one of a densely populated settlements located in the middle of business center area of Manado City, occupies the Mahakam riverbank. The limited space available in Kampung Arab has caused the settlements tend to be slummed and doesn’t have public open space as one of the residential support facilities. In addition, this settlement expands riverbanks so the functions of riverbanks become disturbed, and these settlements are often at risk of flooding. The purpose of this research is to analyze the function of Mahakam riverbanks against flood risk and to analyze the possibility of public space and pedestrian ways availability at the location of Mahakam riverbanks around the Kampung Arab settlement. The research method is qualitative descriptive method. Primary data were obtained through field observation, documentation, and interviews. The research is located in Kampung Arab settlement which occupies the banks of Mahakam River. Further analysis is done: 1) analysis of existing settlement of Kampung Arab to the Mahakam River related to: building’s orientation, river border, activity and behavior of society 2] analysis of public open space availability and its former elements, 3] analysis of settlement utility system and at the final stage conducted an analysis related to community activities and behavior. Expected results through this research are: improving function and quality of Mahakam River, restoring the function of riverbanks and public open space availability as social interaction space
Type of Urban Ecosystem Based on Land Use: A Study in Mapanget sub-district, Manado City
The developments that occur in Manado city, have an impact on changes in existing urban ecosystems and land use. Mapanget sub-district is an area adjacent to the suburbs, when viewed from the ecosystem typology of the land use with plantations, but due to developments in the city center, land changes and land use in the Mapanget district have changed the typology of existing urban ecosystems. The purpose of this study was to analyze land changes and land use in Mapanget sub-district in order to determine the typology of urban ecosystems. The method used is descriptive. To be able to analyze land changes and land use Arc Gis 10.3 software was used with supporting data, namely the 2002-2018 satellite imagery map, 2007-2016 land use map. Based on the results of the analysis, the changes in land use from 2002 was 86.95% reduced to 74.26%. Built land in 2002 was increased from 13.05% to 25.74%. The use of residential lands significantly increases from a land area of 394.09 ha to 733.05 ha. Research shows that the typology of urban ecosystems in Mapanget sub-district consists of absorption typology for around 1395.62 Ha (26.96%), composite ecosystems for approximately 40.54 Ha (0.78%), and production ecosystems around 3740.67 Ha (72.26%). Hence, the typology of production ecosystems is the most dominant changes in land use and more directed to the ecosystem typology of absorption, while land accretion is built at 25.74%
Digital Image Processing Application on Shallots Quality Determination
Shallot is a horticultural vegetable commodity that has high economic value. North Sulawesi is one of the central production of shallots which has several onion varieties developed and marketed. Technology that can help determine the quality of shallots is needed to simplify the marketing process. This study aims to simulate a system for determining the quality of shallots based on their color and size. The shallot bulb image of several different varieties is input for this system to be able to provide good and bad shallot marks
Analysis of Overall Equipment Effectiveness in Fanuc Line 1 Machines by Minimizing six big losses
The company produces several automotive components in Karawang. For the production process using Fanuc machines on Line1, but the results of evaluating the performance of the engine Fanuc Line1 engine effectiveness is not optimal. It was alleged that due to the planning and maintenance of the management machinery was not good, so that the frequency of damage to the machine was still high, which gave the effect that the production was not achieved. For this reason, the effectiveness of the use of Fanuc line1 is done by using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method with the Six big losses calculation approach so that the level of efficiency can be known. The results showed that the magnitude of the OEE value on Fanuc line1 machines in April – August 2018 amounted to 78.82%, this value is still below the JIPM standard of 85%. The amount of Losses is influenced by reduced speed loss of 57.47% and breakdown loss of 22.79%
Study of Smart Antenna Wide Band Multi Beam by Algorithm Switch Beam
The use of wideband antennas in radio frequency (RF) systems are intended to improve the efficiency of the system economically. So that problems arise due to differences in RF system frequency allocation in each country can be overcome. Other than that, the need for an antenna that can optimize the direction of the beam becomes one which became a consideration, for that to develop a smart antenna that is capable of producing the different beam. In various studies, wideband antennas have been built only able to work on a single beam. Meanwhile, the antenna has also been proven to be working in multi-beam but still works on a single frequency. The researcher intends to develop an antenna that can work as a smart antenna that applies multi-beam with switching algorithms by having a wide working frequency (wideband). Multi-beam with wideband can be produced by combining wideband antenna array with a Butler matrix that applies the switching beam algorithm with phase array technique so that it can be a smart antenna because the antenna can be adjusted of the beam as desired
The Influence of Flood Discharge to the Stability of River Morphology
Sedimentation has been an issue for a long periode of time. It affects the river morphology process which is constantly changing from time to time due to its sediment supply system. There are 2 main parameters that strongly affect the morphological process and those are discharge and sediment. When the movement of the sediment occur it will lead to degradation and agradation along the river that will affect the river morphology. Because of those processes, the river dynamic characteristic should be considered in structural design.In North Sulawesi, Tondano River has been known as one of the main river and it has a discharge all year around. With rapid land coverage change, dicharge may increase significantly and hence more sediment could be transported. Moreover, there are increase use of the river resources and more structures built along its sides that appeared to have induced more sediment in transport.This paper presented the corelation between discharge of various flow rates and the amount of sediment being transported at these rates along certain river segments. Slight changes on morphology of the river due to degradation and agradation processes at these segments were also displayed Analysis was carried out to evaluate agradation and degradation processes during various flow rate at the middle section of the Tondano River. Prior to this was the analysis of river discharge. This research has confirmed that indeed the sediment transport occurred at the observed river’s segments was due to the varied discharges. The transport therefore instigated the recurrent changes on the river’s morphology this may pose threats to the stability of river’s structures i.e. by means of scouring progression. Solutions suggested to overcome the problem includes: 1). Non-structural or structural reinforcement on the river bank; and 2). Sediment management to overcome the degradation and agradation processes
Bananas Muli as a product fruit leather through using microwave and oven dryers
Post-harvest processing of bananas Muli local Karawang – Loji area became a research study on a breakthrough the kind of food products. Previously, this fruit only sold to consumers in the roadside, and the rest was thrown away or not utilized. Users prefer to consume directly and fresh. After that, its medium size with a diameter 3 to 4 cm caused this raw material did not display to be a selling outcome such as “sale” or chips. Bananas Muli has never received further food processing compared to other types of bananas (such as bananas Kepok, bananas Raja, bananas Tanduk, bananas Ambon, and others). The term of fruit leather gave the development and novelty for product fruit categories in the form of sheets. Furthermore, the process that occurred was decreasing water content used microwave and oven dryers, then temperature range between 60-80oC with constant sample thickness in three suitable stabilizers. Utilization of oven dryers to produce banana leather products without stabilizers was more likely to choose a temperature of 70oC as the best condition for decreasing water content in the ingredients. Meanwhile, the use of microwaves was able to produce electromagnetic waves and caused collisions between molecules owned by the sample. The results indicated a positive effect. Carrageenan and starch were more capable of binding the water molecules. This way helped the process of reducing water content much faster from the surface (free water) to the area in the sample (water bound to the equilibrium water content). This research resulted in a decrease in water content in the example by 10,5701-12,8639% within 3 hours of the drying process at the optimum condition
Effects of different size of fly ash as cement replacement on self-compacting concrete properties
This paper aims to investigate experimentally the influence of replacing cement with different fineness of fly ash based on flowability, passing ability, compressive strength, tensile strength (splitting). Concretes with 15% fly ash (passed a number 100 sieve) and fine fly ash (passed a number 200 sieve) as cement replacement were cast and tested at 7, 14, 28 days after water curing. A superplasticizer in the form of viscocrete 3115 N was constantly used for each concrete mixtures as much as 1% by weight of cement. The results show that the use of fly ash does not significantly increased the compressive strength and tensile strength of SCC mixtures. However, concrete with 15% fine fly ash its self and combined 7.5% fly ash with 7.5% fine fly ash show better flowability and passing ability when compared to concrete with cement only indicating the performance of using smaller particle sizes of fly ash could lead better properties of SCC that can be potentially used for building construction application
A Simple Mathematical Model for Flood Control by a Dry Dam
At the same time that the estimated risk of natural disasters is increasing due to global warming, the capacity to prevent disasters in Japan has been weakened due to infrastructure degradation and population aging. To reduce the damage caused by flooding, flood control dams without a slide gate in a spillway, known as “dry dams,” have been planned and built on some sites in Japan. In this study, a simple mathematical model for flood control by a dry dam is proposed, aiming to encourage the construction of such dams. An implicit integral equation that is based on the continuity equation and simulates flood control by a dry dam is analytically derived. This equation can be easily solved by a spreadsheet program, making the mathematical models widely accessible, particularly to hydraulic engineers and students. The model’s results are compared with laboratory experimental results and the output of a numerical simulation. The results show that the accuracy of the model is quite good, especially in its prediction of the maximum water level of dam reservoirs, meaning that the peak discharge during a flood can be predicted to high accuracy by using this simple mathematical model
