    Experimental investigation of the flexural ductility of singly reinforced concrete beam using normal and high strength concrete

    This paper discusses and reports based on the experimental investigation of the flexural ductility of singly reinforced normal strength and high strength concrete beams. Compressive concrete strength of 40 and 95 MPa were employed to create singly reinforced normal strength and high strength concrete beams, respectively. Fourteen samples made of normal and high strength concrete were engaged to observe the flexural ductility behaviour of beams on the basis of four point bend testing. Analysis on the basis of the flexural cracking, ultimate failure and curvature ductility were carried out to derive the comparison of singly reinforced normal strength and high strength beams. The beams using high strength concrete revealed a higher ductility ratio than that of normal strength concrete, i.e. 4.50 for high strength concrete and 2.60 for normal strength concrete

    The Coast Area is an area that has a physical condition where erosion occurs at other times, sedimentation occurs. Both of these conditions can be a problem in coastal areas. This is very closely related to land use in coastal areas. Another problem is that in protecting the beach by the government it is very expensive and cannot be carried out simultaneously throughout the coastal areas, so that people have to wait in uncertain times.In North Sulawesi coastal areas are widely used as settlements, tourist areas and other public facilities. The community has its own ability both in terms of the availability of natural resources and labour, so that it can secure the coast to reduce the risk of damage in its coastal areas.The method of building of non-structural coastal protection can be carried out by people whose construction types can be combined according to the conditions and availability of natural resources in the area

    Implementation of Automatic In-store Dryer for Improving Agriculture Product

    The post-harvest agricultural products handling is important to improve quality and to reduce yield loss Shallot is one of perishable agricultural commodities. Inappropriate post-harvest handling of onion can causes loss in weight, damage bulbs because of rotten, moldy, and new shoots grow. The traditional process of drying agricultural commodities can takes around 7-9 days under direct sunlight and 3-4 weeks depending on weather conditions when restore in the drying room. This causes more time for post-harvest processing and farmers to be needed. The installation of the automatic instore dryer provides a solution where the drying time is less than a week with the level of humidity and temperature are based to the target set point and not too dependent on outdoor weather. While temperature conditions under regulated temperature, the heating process uses light bulb while the air circulation inside the instore is using the exhaust. The output signal of the controller will activate the incandescent and exhaust lights based on the difference between the sensing temperature and humidity sensors installed in the room and set point
